The flooring was immaculate and barely had any wear and tear. The missing baseboards complemented the room with more square footage. The toilet functioned almost perfectly without intervention. It was easy to stop the toilet from running by pressing the small flush button. The cable management of the tv added extra feng shui to the room by having all the cables hanging from the wall providing you with an extra place to hang your dirty drawers. The extra duves with complimentary piss stains reminds you that you wont be cold tonight. We especially loved the multi function of the bedlights. We didnt even have to use the on/off buttons. We could just turn the light at an angle of 45 degrees to turn off.

The window to the room was open. This prevented us from strengthening our immune system with a new fungus. If we weren't high as kites we probably would have been worried about the loose ceiling moldings. Luckily they didnt fall on us.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel 74 in Amsterdam and was impressed with the overall experience. The room was clean and quiet, providing a comfortable and restful stay. The hotel's location was ideal, being close enough to the city center for easy exploration, and just a stone's throw away from major museums. The bathroom was decent, with all the necessary amenities, but perhaps not as luxurious as one might hope. However, the standout feature of Hotel 74 was the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Their warm welcome and eagerness to help truly made the stay memorable. In summary, Hotel 74 in Amsterdam offers a clean and quiet stay in a prime location, with exceptionally friendly staff. While the bathroom may not be top-notch, the overall experience is still fantastic, making this hotel a great choice for anyone visiting Amsterdam.

There were a couple of drawbacks that could be improved upon. The bathroom's lighting was quite dim, making it difficult to see without leaving the door open. This issue could be easily resolved by installing brighter lighting or providing a supplementary light source. Additionally, we encountered a minor issue with the reception staff. While they were generally friendly and helpful, we were misinformed about the cost of a taxi to the airport. The actual fare was double what we were told, which was disappointing. It's essential for hotel staff to provide accurate information to guests to avoid any unwelcome surprises.

Helpful staff. She helped us to change the room as it was hard to get the wifi in our initial room. Room is big enough & clean. Walking distance to famous tourist attractions. They have a kitchen and are willing to provide hot water, forks, spoons... There's also an area for eating & working.

I couldn't get the wifi in the initial room & had to wait until the next day to change to another room. There's no kettle, cups, fridge in each room so had to go to the reception & eat there.

The room was comfortable, a good size, and quiet. I really enjoyed talking with Lathy at the reception. All the staff seemed nice. The location was perfect for my needs; everything seemed close by. It was especially nice to have the beautiful Vondelpark around the corner on those hot summer days.

A portable fan would have been nice, and maybe fewer drunken men accommodated downstairs so the all the nice female receptionists could relax!

Perfect location: close to Vondelpark, a supermarket, coffee places, restaurants. 10 min walk to the Theathre Square and bike rentals. Also close to Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. The stuff was very helpful and kind. The room was a bit small but clean and warm. The view from the window is amazing you have the big Vondelchurch in the end of the street.

The spotlights were on the top of my head and I heat my hit multiple times. The bed was not centralised. There was no plug on the right side of the bed. Also the switch was right behind the pillow in the middle of the night I turned on the lights many times accidentally 😀. I would suggest a long mirror and more shelves in the wardrobe. Bathroom was a bit small.

Price and location is great! Although I've seen some negative reviews it seems that hotel improved.

I was in lowest floor so I was hearing everything whats happening on the Street. If hotel managemet would improve sound isolation it would be perfect!. There was a light swich near my bed but it was not working, that is inconvenient.

At first the main light in my room did not work, but the receptionist was super helpful and even gave me a nicer room with a queen bed. The staff members were overall really nice, the rooms were clean and it is also a good value for your money hotel.

I didn't find anything really bad, there are a few smaller remarks though. The bathrooms had soap and shampoo dispensers instead of one-use products. It is a nice step for the environment, nevertheless, it is not very hygienic (especially during COVID) and my soap ran out and nobody replenished it. Also, the location is not that great, quite far from the centre.

We had a great experience and stay. Our room was large, comfortable bed, quiet with a view of the back garden. Nice hot shower and clean towels everyday. Thank you.

Only one thing but not the fault of Hotel 74 is the fire alarm going off at 4am on the first night. This was due to people above us smoking.

I was scared by some comments but the hotel was actually really nice. Welcoming staff, clean bathroom, PERFECT location in the city, comfortable bed (and I have back problems), very easy to check in and out. I could leave my luggage the day I left and took them later just before my train. The room was a little noisy but not more than any other hotel for this price and location. For this price in central Amsterdam, if you don't want to go in a hostel, the single room is perfect.

Staff was very friendly.

Staff gave us a room that was not clean looked like they forgot a previous customer was in the room. But they did give us another room which was bigger that was most appreciated. The only problem I had with the other room was that my sheets had a little blood stain which made me feel uncomfortable to sleep under so I slept without it.
