The booking process was straightforward and we found the accommodation easily. The Breakfast included in the price was really good. We really enjoyed the experience. The location is exceptional.

Its a minor thing, I had not realised that the boat was moving at 9am the next morning when I was booking. It was only when I spotted the mini cruise schedule for the next day that that became obvious. It seems such a shame to move off so early... we had planned to stay on board all day until time for our connection to the ferry back to Newcastle. You are missing a trick here...a place to relax with a fantastic view on deck and a supply of cake and coffee...and just a walk away from the bus transfer to the ferry.....make your mini cruise leave after 4pm :-). as it was we had breakfast and left too soon.

My room was really basic, literally just a bed a basin and a wardrobe, but it was perfect for what I needed it, which was basically just sleep in it. For less than the cost of a dormitory in a hostel, I had my own little private space, and it also included breakfast which was really good too. It's close to the central station and with a 10 minutes walk you are in Dam Square too. So, definitely not fancy, but convenient and economic.

I didn't need to take a shower while I was there, but not sure it would have been fun to do, as the bathrooms on my level were quite cold the whole time I was there (it was freezing in Amsterdam to be fair), not sure if there were other showers on the lower deck, but where I was, I think taking a shower would have been a bit of a challenge.

The boat is an atmospheric place for a short stay. The rooms are very small but cozy. Unfortunately I couldn't experience the boat ride to a different location, but staying in the boat itself was pleasant. The boat was clean, with some worn down things here and there. The owner responded quickly to the slightly leaking sink in the room. The breakfast was good, with simple but sufficient selection of things.

The walls are very thin and how well you can sleep depends a lot on what kind of quests are not just in the next rooms but all over the boat. Mild "damp" smell in the room. Not strong enough to bother me, but can be an annoyance for extra sensitive person

The breakfast was good and the Amsterdam location is excellent. The Zaandam location is a 10min walk from the train station (7 EUR 20min train back to Amsterdam Central station) with lots of shops and restaurants/takeaways nearby. If you're planning on spending a lot of time in your room this probably isn't the hotel for you, but if you want somewhere cheap, clean and safe where you can just pop when you need to sleep, then this would be a good choice.

The cabins are small and you definitely need pyjamas in the winter!! I enjoyed my stay but a thicker duvet would have improved my experience.

The fact that this is a ship is a good start. It was very clean, the beds were comfy, and having a sink in the room made it even better. The water was particularly clean so we drank from it as well, and it tasted good. Then, the common areas were very nice, the reception/lounge/breakfast area was warm and cozy, and above that, the rooftop was an amazing place for a snack, a drink, and an amazing view of the city!

There is hardly anything to say here. The only issue I can think of is it needs to be a bit cleaner on the rooftop.

Amsterdam is a very expensive city, but taking in consideration we stayed in a boat, it was a very good way to save money in the accomodation and city fees! The room is small, but it's a boat, so we were not expecting a 5 stars hotel, and we found it very comfortable, with good electricity and anything else. Shower worked good and the water was very warm. Just the breakfast didn't please us, and the staff never appeared or comunicated with us, they simply left instructions how to check in or checked out via message, but never talked to us directly. Couldn't pick a better location to stay in Amsterdam!

Staff could be a bit more open to talk and receptive, but besides that we did not have any problems ad for sure would book it again :)

Brilliant experience! Beautiful locations. Loved the seating area on top to chill out and take in the stunning sights of Amsterdam. Staff were brilliant. Don't be expecting the Ritz and you'll have a fantastic time. Rooms are small but was fine for me as it was only somewhere to sleep at night. There is loads of room in the communal area where you have breakfast etc and as stated before there's plenty of space upstairs too. Some people might not like the fact the ship changes locations but I loved it. The trip in to Amsterdam from zandaam on my second day was very relaxing with a coffee upstairs. Very reasonable price I would absolutely stay on the vita nova again. Can't wait!

The only thing I can say I had a problem with was the sink in my room 'gulped'. Hard to explain but if you are to read this review and experience the gulp you'll 100% understand. To be honest it all added to the experience

Great breakfast. Amazing host, very nice and helpful. Gave us tips on places to visit and answered all our questions. room was cozy and had all the basics you would need. Good place for value and the location was very close to some main spots in the area

All was good. Was incredibly impressed with the amazing price for such a nice place and the host service was amazing. Made life long friends onboard and was very surprised on how nice it was to stay.

We had a phenomenal time on the Vita Nova, a really cool way to experience Amsterdam while having a place to sleep and relax every night. The first floor has a dining room where people chill out and breakfast is served every morning. You can also sit on the roof whenever and enjoy the views. Wonderful atmosphere. the other guests were very respectful, no one was loud. The best part about the Vita Nova, though, was the staff! Fun chats, made us feel at home, so very kind and hardworking!

Well you have to accept that you are on a boat, so the draining of the bathroom/toilets sometimes makes noise or may sometimes smell a bit, but it doesn’t ruin the experience. It may be annoying for you to have the boat move, so look at the schedule of the boat that so you can prepare for it moving locations. We loved it because we got to see places we wouldn’t have seen otherwise :)

I liked "living" on a ship, having the sea around and looking at the lights of the ships around us at night was really calming. The location was also close to the center, so we didn't get lost or had to walk to long.I honestly expected something different but I got surprised positively

The cabins were a bit tight, I hit my head at least once per day :)
