My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The County Hotel, a remarkable boutique 'bougee' establishment that truly sets the bar high for luxury hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the most beautiful host and service. The level of service was, seemless and impeccable, creating a warm, kind professional atmosphere. The culinary experience at The County Hotel was also a highlight. The in-house restaurant and bar offers a diverse menu that caters to all palates and presentated with artistic flair. The newly renovated Hotel bar struck the perfect balance between ambiance, elegance and coziness. The bar menu also boasting a selection of fine wines, beers, spirits and cocktails making it an ideal spot for both casual evenings and special occasions. It's clear the owner (Angela) of The County Hotel takes pride in her hotel. Her presence adds a personal touch that's rare in Aotearoa Hotels. The County Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience in itself. With its unparalleled hospitality from Angela, attentive staff, exquisite dining, great cuisine/menu from head chef (Richard), most gorgeous room and attention to detail in every aspect, it truly stands out for us as one of our beautiful accommodations. Whether for business or leisure, it's an establishment that we highly recommend and eagerly return to in Napier.

Excellent location and very friendly staff. Duty manager Callum was an extremely helpful staff member who knew the locality well. Very clean rooms and the daily turnout service was very much appreciated.

The beds were a little too much on the soft side. The beds were not uncomfortable but if they were a bit firmer it would have helped immensely to get 8 hours of sleep. Look forward to the restaurant and bar operating in the Summer.

Everything was excellent. If you like Art Decor you 1 fail to appreciate this private hotel. The room had all facilities, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, fridge tea/coffee, hot shower. Very central location in easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Would certainly love to stay at this hotel again.

The parking was private at small extra charge, but not locked, as we were touring on a bike, making ourselves a tad nervous, however totally unnecessary.

This hotel is very well located to view the sights of Napier and is one of its beautiful art deco buildings. The hotel is full of charm and interesting features and the owners/ staff are completely hands-on - welcoming and helpful. We also had a very pleasant dinner in the restaurant. We were sad to only have one night in Napier but staying at the County Hotel made us feel we’d had a really great experience here.

Gorgeous art deco hotel well placed for all the shops, restaurants and promenade. Lovely room with one of the most comfy beds ever! Staff (who may well be the owner) was so nice and helpful. Very useful to have safe parking across the road at a sensible rate. Due to covid/staff shortages etc the restaurant and bar weren't open on the day of the week we were there, but both loked exceptional and we would have definitely used both if they'd been open.

It is a uniquely pleasing stay in The County Hotel Napier from the ease of booking under Booking.com, the exceptional customer service by Angelea, the care taken to match travellers/customers to the types of rooms they need with such unbelievable sensitivity that I felt so at home, plus the history of the hotel is something that all visitors to Napier must make it a point to come stay and experience.

We were greeted by the staff who graciously offered to store our daughter's 21st birthday cake in their fridge. We were shown to our room, where we were also shown the complimentary wine and snacks. The place looks and feels gorgeously opulent, with a beautiful library to use and a study area with chess and complimentary port, it felt like we were staying in an English manor, we loved it.

Everything. Bed was so comfortable. The building is unique with classy period decor with rooms named after birds rather than numbers. Room was a decent size the location meant you can walk to most places of interest. The hotel was quiet with no street noise or from other guests. Hotel Parking is easily accessed. Would definitely stay there again.

great place, a kinda restored early modern building that has lots of touches, it is a great building and has a good little library with a nice Port you can try, we just loved it, it also has free parking and ac. Very nice place

well the attached lounge and restaurant were only open from Thursday to Sunday so we wern't able to try that, too bad as it look quite unique and cool.

We were greeted on arrival and shown the hotel, given a choice of rooms, both warm and comfortable with complimentary wine and nibbles, even complimentary port in the library. Excellent location, would definitely stay again!!

Being an older building there could have been better sit ed sockets to plug in appliances, this is a minor point.
