Mercure Wellington Central City is a prime location and in walking distance of maany tourist attractions such as Cuba St, Te Papa, the Wharf & Port. My family & I loved the prompt continued service from reception and also the cleaning services through house keeping were exceptional! We also loved the view of the Central City and Port Harbour!
We did have a mishap with our toilet leaking after our first night’s stay however, this was promptly rectified and we were offered an upgrade yo which we were utterly grateful for! Parking is very limited but the sister hotel Mercure was a short distance walk and offered private parking.

I was a little bit nervous about staying here after reading some of the recent reviews however our experience was great! Our room was much bigger than we were expecting, the carpet and decor looked fairly new, the bed was well made and everything was clean. The shower was hot and had great pressure, the bed was comfy and everyone that we dealt with at the hotel was super friendly and helpful. The location is second to none and brilliant for accessing everything in central Wellington by foot. There is a major building/renovation project happening right next door however they seemed to have finished the apartments and are now working at road level so we didn’t encounter any unexpected noise - the little drilling that we did hear didn’t start until after 8am and given that it was a weekday we didn’t feel this was inappropriate at all. The hotel is an older hotel but we weren’t expecting five star, this hotel met our needs fantastically, it was great value for money and we would stay here again.
There was very little that we didn’t like about the property, if we were splitting hairs then we would say that the tv had a bit of a habit of changing channels randomly by itself and also the Wifi wasn’t the kind of high speed that you might get in a higher class of hotel. However, neither of these things impeded our stay at all.

Full kitchen, clean and tidy room good ventilation options. plenty of storage cupboards. Absolutely quiet rooms, even with party goers in the central city. Walking distance to everything was excellent, the staff were friendly and amazing. Incredible value for an inner city 2bdrm apartment.
The lighting in the bedrooms had no low-light or bedside lamps, so options at night are dark or very bright. The shower was a bit on the smaller side and the shower head was a little low for me (180cm), The hot water jug was unusually loud and only 1 couch (large 2seater) in the living area. Not really deal breakers

Superb location in central city. 10 minutes level walk to the new Takina Convention Centre across the street from Te Papa. Only 5 minutes walk to Cuba Street eating places. Apartment with two separate bedrooms was exactly what we needed for business travel with two colleagues sharing. Efficient service by reception and housekeeping when requested. Highly recommend to business travelers. We will use again.
Construction underway in the area does not affect business traveler who is out and about all the working day.

Nice view and the room was decorated nicely. Location was perfect for us, bus stop around the corner. We appreciated our luggage being held for us due to early arrival and late departure.
Bed was very uncomfortable and didn't have an electric blanket or enough bedding to keep us warm. It was made up for summer and we were cold the first night. The kitchen/bathroom very pokey and need to be done up. Could do with more channels on the TV also.

Location was great, waking distance to a lot of Wellington sights, places to eat etc. Heaters worked really well. The lounge and dining areas were reasonably spacious.
Not as well appointed as most Mecure Hotels we have stayed in. Quite dark and even confined in some shared spaces, I struggled to manoeuvre the luggage trolley into the lift and from the lift to our room. The kitchen in our room was very small as were the bathroom and shower recess. The parking is off site and for a fee, there were only disabled parks on the street out the front for drop off and check in. We had wind whistling through our closed bedroom window and could clearly hear the sirens of the city from the 13th floor.

The Panoramic views were amazing, it was lovely having the dual aspect windows in both bedroom and living area. Lovely living area allowing proper relaxation after a busy day. Good location in the city
Bathroom was a little dated/damaged with a cracked tile and the shower head would splay water all over the floor as the shower screen wasn’t sufficient and you couldn’t change the shower angle.

No breakfast available but kitchen facilities fine, coffee and tea sachets good too, could have done with a few more milk sachets. Bed comfortable, property needs a bit of a lift but you’re probably aware of this. Staff v good.
Standard of property but I think good value just the same. It wld have been helpful to have instructions on how to work the tv,

Location was good. Near Manners Street. You can catch buses there to the city or walk if you want to the city but that will take about 15 minutes walk. You can buy a Snapper card from the international departures at the airport. Go to Wishbone Cafe level 1. Cost $10 for the card. No one was on duty at the airport at 4.30 pm in information, so I went upstairs to international to the bookshop to ask for information. You can then put $10 on the Snapper card using your mobile phone. The price to get to Manners Street is $3.75. You can use the Snapper card to get around the city as well. Catch the bus from Manner's Street to the city. When you get off at Manners Street, find McDonald's on the corner. Cross the road, turn left and you are at the Mecure. I had really good fish and chips at Wellington Seamarket. Look it up. There is one in the city 146 Lambton Quay and one close by 220 Cuba Street. The one at Lambton Quay had seating outside but it was raining so this local told me that there is a food court close by Lambton Square food court. You can eat your fish and chips there. Make sure that you get a knife and fork from the fish and chip shop as I had to find cutlery at the food court to eat it. The fish is so fresh and delicious as are the chips.
The room was a bit tired looking but the bed was well made. Extra blanket had a stain on it (but maybe they couldn't remove it). It was in a plastic bag. The room was small but ok for a two night stay. There was a fridge and a kettle to make tea. The water from the shower can spill onto the floor when you open the door after having a shower but that's normal in most showers. They need to have a non slip mat on the floor. There was no non slip mat or bath mat for the floor, only two towels and face towels. No hand towels. It was ok for me as I am not that fussy about hand towels and I had two towels and am a solo traveller. If you are a couple, make sure you get an extra towel for the floor or a bath mat to prevent slipping.

The location was great and the staff were helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy and well equipped. We had booked in for a certain bed configuration for our 2 teens but when this was unavailable they made sure to give us room with a sofa bed. Honestly the location was just so good we could overlook little issues.
Needs a bit of TLC but they are renovating so that will be good when all finished.
