Nomads Capital Backpackers - Wellington

I had a small private room and the bed had four clean pillows and clean bedding, comfortable bed. There were loads of outlets and great hot water in the shower. Wasn't the cleanest place I've stayed at but I really enjoyed my stay and would come back in a heartbeat. The single room was a perfect compromise of a hotel and hostel and I met quite a few awesome people by staying there. I loved the complimentary kettle and coffee. Lovely and helpful staff and overall just a lovely little hub (Blend, the next-door bar is also cheap, fun and welcoming).

Just a bit cleaner (the floors were sticky) wifi goes in and out but mostly fine!

Nice room. Quiet. Central location. Good to be able to store luggage for the afternoon after we checked out.

It would have been great to have the option of a later check out. Didn't realise that the free WiFi finished at midnight. Was 15 minutes late checking out and the key-card seemed to stop working then, which meant we couldn't access the section with the lift and had to carry our bags down three flights of stairs.

The staff was very helpful throughout and it was nice that the reception was open 24/7 - it helped to create a very welcoming environment. The location was great! Right at the end of Cuba Street, a very short walk to the waterfront and Te Papa museum, Mount Victoria was not far away either.. The location could not have been better for a short stay in Wellington!

The bathrooms on floor 1 and 2 were out of order which meant that I had to walk up to the third floor for taking a shower or using the bathroom.

The location was great, close to Te Papa and Cuba street etc. I'd recommend Abrakebabra for anyone looking for a late kebab dinner that's close and delicious. The room had exactly what we needed for a simple, comfortable and safe stay.

The bed was a little uncomfortable, but most people prefer their own beds anyway. The ensuite needed a clean and a drain filter. The only window was old, would rattle with the wind and was drafty at times.

Noise from pub below on Saturday night and banging fire doors. Only kettle in room no fridge but there were community facilities that I did not use. No alcohol policy

location was amazing, was a bit worried about going out alone at night but with how central it was, this didn’t prove an issue. nice and easy to get around independently within the building & more or less quiet at night time.

bit of rubbish under the beds - quite obvious it had just had a spot clean for what was visible, fire alarm had a big chunk of dust In it which was quite unnerving… would’ve been nice if we had been warned about the road works next door before hand, or offered some ear plugs to make up for it.

I was really impressed that there were so many common spaces that were open for guests to use and available at all hours, as this was vey helpful when I didn't want to wake others staying in my room. The showers were also super nice and clean, and with the bedding provided I did feel really warm, even though it was a chilly night. There were also lockable cupboards in the rooms, just make sure to bring a padlock!

I think some of the cleanliness within the common areas could have been better, such as within the kitchen and in the baggage room especially. When I went to leave my backpack there, I could see flies hanging around some of the luggage and it was overall kind of dirty, but it wasn't a huge deal, especially if you aren't planning on using the room.

It was a standard backpackers as expected. The highlight was the girl who welcomed us at the start. Whoever was meant to be at the desk while good sis was meant to be on break wasn't there but she served us anyways and got us sussed and sorted to go. She was always there too when we'd get back and was super friendly. We appreciated her so much!

I think a little care in the rooms would go a long way. We just needed somewhere to drop our bags while we went and explored but the curtains didn't even cover the entirety of the window, paint chips all over the wall where the bed was and the bed moved a lot like couldn't sit on it properly cause it moved. Not a massive issue but just small things that could've made it better!

Private bathroom, comfortable mattress and awesome location which was so close to everything we wanted to do. The staff were helpful and friendly- they let us put our luggage in the luggage locker because we arrived a couple of hours before check in.

The room was very hot so we had to sleep with the window slightly ajar, but the music from a bar downstairs played until 12am and it was loud. Fans in the rooms would be great since there are heaters for when it is cold.
