The location is very near to train station, just a few walk away. The room i stay in is for four female person, inside has own locker and hair dryer, and i love the view. The bathroom is mix, but i dont mind, it has enough space, it was clean, and also has hair dryer. The toilet is also enough, and it is clean. The kitchen is fantastic, it has 2 fridge, has 2 oven and a microwave oven, a kettle, and other utensils. And they have free pepper and salt. If your looking for some oil, buy on your own, its not expensive anyway :) there is also enough space to sit/eat. The check in process is so easy, and to check out as well. There are near restaurants and groceries as well.
Nothing.

The hostel was perfect for a short stay. The kitchen was well equipped, although slightly small so it was difficult for more than 2 or 3 people to cook at once. There were plenty of tables and chairs to eat at. The beds were comfy, although there were no shelves with the beds so no where to keep things close at hand. there was a locker for each bed although they were narrow so my hand-luggage sized case didn't fit inside. There were a couple of sofas in a small common area which were very comfy, but only 2 so only space for 4 people to sit. The location was perfect - 10 minute walk to the main city centre/harbour area, less than 5 minutes to the main bus station and the light rail stop, and a budget supermarket just around the corner.
The lockers in the room were very narrow so my hand luggage-sized case didn't fit inside, and there weren't any shelves next to the beds so no where to keep things close at hand. The kitchen was well equipped but quite small so became crowded very easily.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at City Hostel Bergen, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. Their warmth, friendliness, and willingness to help with any request truly set this hostel apart. The hostel itself is impeccably clean. Every corner, from the communal areas to the bathrooms and dormitories, is maintained to a high standard, making it a comfortable and pleasant place to stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, allowing me to unwind and fully enjoy my time here. One of the greatest advantages of City Hostel Bergen is its prime location right in the heart of the city. It’s perfectly situated, with easy access to all the main attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. This made exploring Bergen a breeze and added so much convenience to my trip. Initially, I had planned to stay for just four days, but I was so impressed and happy with everything that I extended my stay to a full seven days. The decision was easy—this place feels like a second home. The combination of the amazing staff, clean facilities, and perfect location made it impossible to leave so soon. I will undoubtedly be returning to City Hostel Bergen on my next visit to this beautiful city. If you’re looking for a place that offers exceptional service, cleanliness, and a true sense of home away from home, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!
Everything was perfect!!! Can’t wait to come back again!

In a perfect location just minutes from the railway station and the harbour and only 15 minutes walk to the Hurtigruten terminal. My room was as good as any budget hotel room I have had, with a comfortable bed, a decent sized shower room, a hob for cooking an easy meal, a fridge and most importantly a kettle. There was a good mix of people staying here, and as a mature traveller, I certainly didn't feel out of place. Free luggage storage was available too, and without a doubt if I stay in Bergen again, I would choose this place.
Nothing.

The four bed female-only dorm was excellent. I thought the bed was really comfortable and I had the best sleep I’ve had in years! I liked that we could lock our belongings away in the lockers provided in the room. I really enjoyed the shared kitchen facilities as it is well-equipped with everything you need, including salt and pepper. Plenty of shared and single bathrooms across the hostel. It is quiet for a hostel, especially if you close the windows at night to avoid noise from road below, but Bergen is a relatively quiet city at night anyway. All of my fellow guests were super respectful - mainly travellers. It was located only 5-8 minutes walk from large Kiwi supermarket, as well as nearby park/water fountain area. It is located 8-10 minutes walk from Bryggen and the Fløibanen (funicular to Mount Floyen). Overall, my first stay in a hostel has been fantastic - I will be staying again.
Towels should be included, although I understand that they aren’t included because some travellers only stay for a night, so a rental fee for duration of stay is a flat 25NOK (approx less than £2), which isn’t a bad price.

This hotel / hostel is in a really good, easily accessible location of the town, close to shops, restaurants and city sights. Check in is easy, instructions provided via booking.com chat. Our room was very clean and had a good view to the city street. Bunk bed is not noisy and clean, there are enough power sockets to charge your things. Kitchen and dining area is big, there is enough space to eat or drink a tea comfortably. The hotel has got a few shared bathrooms and toilets, they were not busy at the time of our stay and were always very clean. This place is very well managed, really good value for the money we spent here, would return again. Thank you for allowing us to leave our luggages here on our checkout day as we had a late flight.

The price is very reasonable for what you get. I've never been on a hostel where you have access to a kitchen or where you can wash your clothes, so that was really cool. We stayed there for a weekend, but I would assume it's the perfect place for people who are planning on staying for a while and wants to do it cheap. The room is nothing special, but that was as I expected. We weren't planning on spending time in there other than to sleep, so the fact that the room was clean, the beds comfortable and there was plenty of lights and outlets was really all we needed. I would definitely recommend this hostel to other people that want a cheap and nice place to stay. There's even a little hangout area for those that might want to spend time at the hostel, but that really wasn't what we'd come to Bergen to do. There were always plenty of people in the hangout area and the kitchen though, so it's probably also a great place for people traveling alone that wants to make new friends. Other than that, all I can really say is that it isn't very noisy. I'm very noise sensitive when trying to sleep, but even though I could hear some music playing in a building nearby it wasn't so bad that I couldn't sleep.

The whole hostel was very clean, comfortable and had everything I needed during my stay. The room was big enough, simple but cute and with a beautiful view of the city. I really appreciated the facilities the common areas: the bathrooms were always clean and well equipped (toilet paper, soap, body wash...) and the kitchen had a lot of equipment you could use and a lot of space to store food. The hostel is easy to reach and is located in the city centre, so you can easily walk to reach the major attractions (Bryggen, Bergenhus Fortress, KODE Museum, Fløibanen) and a lot of cafés, restaurants and supermarkets. Also, the staff was always nice and helpful and they even gave me great advice about hiking and exploring the surroundings.
I have nothing to complain about!

There’s multiple showers and toilets to use as well as one in the room. It was a big room and had a nice common area. It was relatively quiet.
Not many sockets to charge devices and the shower door wouldn’t close in the room as it had rusted. There was never more than four people in the dorm despite there being 10 beds. On my last stay the staff barged into the room at ten complaining that I’d not checked out. Check out is at 11. Plus it’s self check-in and out. Also you only get a code which is the same for every door.

The hostel is centrally located. A spacious fully equipped kitchen and dining area. It was clean and the couple of staff I saw were friendly.
The dorms, there were not enough sockets and the socket weren’t near the bed. The beds are old and squeaky. There is no privacy - a curtain would help. I didn’t get a code to check in, id sent a couple of emails within reception time and was ignored. reception was closed so I had to make a phone call (no other contact details)and wait a while for it to be sorted.
