The room was large and clean. Nice large comfortable bed. The location could not be better. We arrived by train and the hotel is literally next door! Despite this, you cannot hear the trains. It is also only a fairly short walk into the city centre. The staff at reception were friendly in particular the male member of staff who was chatty and helpful (I didn't get his name unfortunately). The breakfast was excellent and had everything needed to set you up for the day, The breakfast room is large and so plenty of room for everyone. Finally the main hotel decor with much of it appearing to be original giving it a certain charm.

The bath is quite high so had to be careful when getting in and out of the shower which is over the bath. It was also difficult to control the temperature of the shower via the mixer system. The water was super hot so had to be careful! No option not to have the towels changed every day which isn't very environmentally friendly.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was well-appointed. Breakfast was consistent and good quality choices. Restaurant had excellent food and good value. Comfort of lounge area and access to coffee/tea throughout the day. Location was perfect for concerts at the Grieghallen.

An unexpected train fire caused much noise on the street facing the train station with 100 guests registering and getting taxis, which lasted for hours. There were a lot of tour buses that stayed and left afer breakfast which made breakfast a bit crowded, even at the earlier times.

The hotel is immediately outside of the train station, which was great for us. It is also just on the other side of the train station from the light rail stop from the airport, also great. It was only a 10 minute walk to Bryggen and to the funicular. Very walkable and lovely area to stay. The rooms were very quiet and the bedsd comfortable.

The breakfast was fine with many options, but the quality was only OK. Certainly anyone should be able to find something they liked.

Excellent location - opposite Bergen train station (great for NIN), and the Light rail station was on the other side of train station (very helpful when you're lugging heavy suitcase late at night). And still very quiet at night Excellent breakfast buffet - probably the best we've had in our 14-day trip in Scandinavia Great ambience of hotel and room - throw-back to what old Bergen would have been like

Minor issue with limited signage highlighting where the hotel was - possibly hidden by construction work?. We arrived late at night, and went to the villa next door - thrown by the light-up board (which was actually next to the garage door) and the open gate of the villa.

The property is very well presents and is located directly opposite the train station. The staff were lovely and attentive and we even got a free room upgrade upon arrival and provided with a list of recommended restaurants in the area. Facilities within the room were outstanding, we had a TV we could connect our iPad too, the bathroom provided robes and towels as well as luxury shampoo etc. The pillows and duvet on the bed at huge and keep you very warm at night, I’ve never slept so good in a hotel, considering it’s surrounded by houses and roads this does not reflect in the noise and is extremely quiet. Breakfast is served between 6:30 to 10 and has a very good range to pick from.

There is nothing I didn’t like.

This hotel is right next to the central train station, next to public transportation, and within walking distance of everything downtown. The room was good size, the Wi-Fi good, the staff helpful and friendly, and there is a great buffet in the morning with a big selection of things to eat. the entire hotel has a nice feel, the architecture is very nice, and the bar is a good place to have a drink.

I had a hard time controller the water out of the shower as it was a bit hotter than I like it. Other than that I would most definitely stay there again.

Initially I was spooked by the old property, however the staff and beds warmed up my stay. Shout out and big thanks to the lady cleaning staff (sorry I forgot to ask for your name. I remember she had a tattoo). She patiently brought me to the laundry room and gave me a couple of instructions on how to operate the machines despite her busy schedule. Convenient location and nice walk along quaint roads leading to the wharf. Comfortable beds, nice heating, new bathroom, good breakfast buffet, free laundromat

Some things didn’t work like the phone. And no kettle in the room

Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. So much high quality food in a lovely setting. Location was handy for everything. Walking distance to most attractions. Especially liked the bar and restaurant - very old world and cosy

My sister’s economy double room was hard to open. Very stiff door handle and the internal telephone service did not work between our rooms. As she is elderly I needed to be able to ring her when she didn’t answer her door. We reported this to reception but nothing was done about it.

The hotel is very welcoming, both the staff and the decor. The location is excellent, especially if you need to travel, as it is located right opposite the train station. The breakfast was excellent - great variety, freshly cooked and very good. The room was spacious with a very clean bathroom and very comfortable beds.

There is nothing I didn't like about the hotel. My only disappointment was that it was raining throughout our stay and we didn't get the chance to see Bergen very well.

Breakfast here was absolutely superb although the dining room was so quiet I was afraid to talk to my family over our meal. Facilities are super nice and beautifully updated. Room was spacious and shower was great water pressure and temperature. Staff were helpful and location was perfect as we were starting our journey from Bergen to Flam to Oslo.

Our particular room was very cold and had no working heat. We tried to call the front desk but no one picked up. It was a mild evening so under the covers we were more than fine, but I wish there would have been instructions on how to turn on the heat.
