We recently had the pleasure of staying at the charming small family hotel in Faro, and we couldn't have been more delighted with our experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality that truly made us feel at home. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. Every corner sparkled, and the attention to detail was evident in every aspect. The well-equipped amenities, including a fully functional kitchen, TV, and not one but two air conditioners, made our stay extremely comfortable. Whether we wanted to whip up a quick meal or just relax in the cozy living area, this hotel provided everything we needed. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the wonderful family that runs it. Cláudia, the owner, and her son João, were the epitome of friendliness and genuine care. They went out of their way to ensure that our stay was exceptional, offering local insights and recommendations that truly enhanced our trip. Speaking of Faro, what an amazing city! The hotel's central location made it a breeze to explore all that this vibrant city has to offer. Faro's historical charm, picturesque streets, and stunning architecture left us in awe. The blend of tradition and modernity is beautifully showcased in every nook and cranny. When it came to dining, Cláudia and João didn't disappoint with their recommendations. They pointed us towards some of the most delectable local restaurants, where we savored the freshest seafood and traditional Portuguese dishes. Each meal was a delightful journey into the rich culinary tapestry of the region. And let's not forget about the countless attractions Faro boasts! The stunning Ria Formosa Natural Park, with its diverse ecosystems and serene landscapes, was a nature lover's paradise.

What didn't I like? Trying to leave the hotel was like saying goodbye to a plate of fresh pastéis de nata – it was just too hard to do! :)

The staff where excellent, nothing was to much trouble, the apartment was spacious and clean and fully kitted out l could have done a dinner party, The apartment was 500m away from the center of Faro which was a short walk with small cafe and bars closer if you did not want to cook breakfast, or just soak up the cafe culture of an afternoon with good wine and good company and a small super market for daily essentials a 5 minute walk away. Barbecued octopus i will never like the smell, no joking apart leaving Faro was the worst thing, we are definitely going back, over the years l have been 5 times and enjoy every visit.

A lot of thought had been put into the layout and decor of the complex, of each apartment and of the communal areas. A water feature in the reception area, a communal laundry room (complete with detergent etc), beautifully lit stairs and a lift. The apartment was equipped with a coffee maker, dishwasher, coffee pods, dishwasher tablets, fridge freezer, lovely plants on the balcony, very well furnished balcony. There were many nice touches in our beautifully equipped apartment.

If I were to write anything negative here it would be because I had to think long and hard to find it.

The suites were pristine and had everything you could ask for whilst you were staying. Claudia the owner made direct communication just after our booking and had regular updates from her. On arrival we were greeted by Claudia and informed of the area and how to get to different points in the town, then showing us to our suite and informing us of how everything worked and where everything was. Claudia even organised a trip to a winery for us from door to door. We have nothing but praise for Claudia, her staff, the suite and the whole complex of Cardeal Suites and Appartments. I would highly recommend anyone to stay if visiting Faro and would not hesitate to return again. Thankyou.

There was nothing to dislike!

We got the 2 bedroom apartment and it was gorgeous. I am in love with the whole property. Every detail is so well thought out, I’ve never seen anything like it. They had yummy, ripe oranges for us that I made orange juice out of as a welcome gift. I thought that was a cute idea. It’s a 30 min drive to some really nice beaches… we didn’t get a chance to see the town though, but it’s walking distance

The mattress was too firm for our liking. I did mention it to the owner and she told me they had pillow toppers for that. I wish I had mentioned it after our first night. But it’s amazing that they even have that thought out too.

The location was fabulous and very central. The host (Claudia) was so welcoming and allowed us to check in early and took lots of time to point out places to visit and eat and gave us a map and train timetables. She couldn't have been any more friendly and accommodating and her info was so useful. It really felt like a home from home and I can't recommend staying here enough. The room was so comfortable, stylish and had everything we needed. It really enhanced our stay. Thank you so much!

Absolutely nothing - it was perfect in every way.

The host of the property went out of her way to meet us at the property after we made a booking last minute (literally) due to a cancelled flight, and had loads of great recommendations for in and around Faro. The apartment was very stylish but also comfortable, well equipped, lovely interior, super cool courtyard space outside, and a short walk from loads of cool restaurants and bars in Faro. The host also got us in touch with a great taxi company who took us to Vilamoura and then the airport the next day. A really good stay and highly recommended.

Even if I usually travel a lot, I personally rarely write comments on internet. However here it is like going to a restaurant and have a top dinner and you feel like leaving tips for the cook! :-) I went to Cardeal last weekend for a special occasion: my sister'50th birthday. Claudia made everything so special! Her passion for her job is tangible, she is sweet. empathic and very organized! Her recommendations have been instrumental for the overall weekend's success. Her house is just amazing, very practical, clean and you do not need to carry anything else. you can enjoy also Espresso for breakfast;) The apartment is located in Faro city center (very close to the cathedral) and you can enjoy the city without any transportations! just walking around! the city is beautiful and honestly it is near to other top Algarve destinations such as Lagos, SAgres and for sure you will not get board (to go there you will need a car, Claudia can help there too!:)! I went there with my mum, my sister and my daughter of 4 years old...Different generations and all equally happy! I would recommend this elegant accommodation to everyone who wants to get spoilt in Portugal! We literally felt like that! Thanks Claudia! Mara, Barbara, Gabriella, Bianca

We stayed only for 3 nights....I can't wait to stay longer :-)

Location is great with a short walk to the bars, restaurants and shopping. The apartment is spacious, clean and comfortable. The walk in shower is large with strong water pressure. All the facilities required are there but no oven. The apartment block is very secure and entry is gained via a code. A separate laundry is available for all the guests with detergent and dryer supplied. We would definately recommend the apartments and would stay here again.

The apartments do not have allot of character but a small observation in the scheme of things.

The apartment met all our requirements. There were two comfortable bedrooms and a large living room with kitchen and a spacious terras. All indoor rooms were equipped with air conditioning. The state of the room was new. Very nice finishing, which allowed us to have a very comfortable stay. Faro is a small town, therefore no taxis required to move around. All can be reached on walking distance. Claudia has been very helpful in getting us organized and provided great tips for tours and restaurants.
