Really, really helpful staff at this hotel - the site is run to a high standard and nothing is too much trouble. Bathroom great and good facilities. Plenty of TV channels in English if needed. Location is great in terms of being outside town but close to a metro stop that takes you into the main tourist areas of Porto - but there are also shops, a supermarket and restaurants nearby. Garden area and pool are a bonus.

Only minor issue - wifi signal not great in every part of the hotel but enough for streaming etc and you could use the hotel lounge if needed.

The location was great - we got to experience a more local perspective as the accommodation is not located fully centrally but in a more residential area. It is placed opposite the metro station as well as plenty of bus stops around. The transport links were amazing. The hotel staff was amazing, not only they took their time to explain and show us around the hotel, but you can also feel their passion and great energy that was contagious. The room itself was great with all the amenities in place.

Even though breakfast was great, I wish there would have been a slightly wider variety of options as some things would run out pretty quickly. I would suggest include more fresh vegetables and fruit.

Huge Bedroom, fantastic space, beautiful building, big bathroom, direct access to the garden and pool, balcony and nice breakfast!

We loved our stay at Marquês Garden House. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was even more gorgeous than the photos, it was spacious, beautifully decorated and the huge bed was so comfortable. The location is perfect if you don't mind getting the metro because the metro stop is right outside the hotel. You get the best of both when you stay here with easy access to the centre in minutes and the beautiful, peaceful garden and pool to relax in. All of the hotel staff were lovely and extremely accommodating. We would like to give a special mention to Christina and Veríssimo as they were really kind and made us feel particularly welcome. It should also be mentioned that the housekeeping standard was impeccable. It was a nice touch to have some lovely port and snacks on arrival. We also celebrated a birthday during the stay and we were given some treats and port to celebrate. The staff went above and beyond. It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel in the beautiful city of Porto and we would highly recommend it.

Everything was great but in terms of ways to improve a few more seating options by the pool would be good. Sometimes the breakfast would run out but if you asked for more the staff were happy to make an individual portion.

Located in a lovely square with a central garden. Supermarket just around the corner. Breakfast is as you'd expect and served between 8.30 and 11.00 and if they see you're not there they'll check if you want some! Scrambled eggs is standard but they'll do fried if you ask. All the staff were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. They got me a cake for my birthday and set up the garden with balloons. I stayed in room 303 which had a great veranda overlooking the garden and pool. No bar but you can take your own drink to the garden or lounge room. 15 minutes stroll to Bolhao shopping and restaurant area and another 10-15 minutes from there to the river. Uber or Bolt taxis dirt cheap.

Breakfast room was well situated with steps down to the garden. It had a nice selection of cheese, cold-cuts, jam, eggs, tea, coffee etc…The staff would also prepare fried eggs or cappuccino if you requested it. Also, there are two washrooms located close to the breakfast room in case you can’t make it to your room in time when nature calls. Our room was in the attic with beautiful natural wood. The bathroom was very modern and clean. There was no view of the street as the window was very high. In general, everything was very comfortable, bed included.

The only issue was the noise from the street. I honestly didn’t sleep any night because of the consistent noise from one thing or another. So, don’t book the attic room at the front of the building if you want to sleep and have a view.

Lovely place to stay with our family (2 adults, child of 2y old and our newborn baby) to discover Porto, breakfast was really delicious (and we honestly have high standards for breakfast;) , the room felt like our own appartment and had direct access to the garden with pool, clean, huge bathroom with shower and bath (nice for the kids), the staff were extremely friendly and helpfull, metro station right in front of the door, we loved our stay here and definitly hope to come back some day!

Beautiful 19th century building. Spacious room, with great space for a family of 5. We were located at the rear of the property, with steps down to a very relaxing and tranquil garden with a good sized pool. Directly outside the property the Marquez metro station will have you in the City centre (Trindade metro station) within 5 mins, whereby you can access anywhere in Porto on the superb, well priced metro system. Breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold options. Staff were very friendly and always had a smile on their faces.. We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Nothing at all

It was our first abroad holiday with our baby and we were understandably a bit nervous. The hotel was beautiful and our room was spacious. The staff were incredibly attentive,they even made sure the baby bed had the correct bedding in it! They honestly could not have been nicer to us /so thank you! They did go above and beyond, greeting us with port and little pastry for our baby as soon as we arrived. We’d definitely be back and we can highly recommend this place to other families too!

The bathroom door was getting stuck and it was difficult to open & close

Hidden away in a busy part of the outskirts you open the door into the hotel to find yourself in a beautiful oasis of peace and tranquility. a couple of minutes from the metro makes it easily accessible to all the tourist sites. we had the family room opening onto the garden, spacious, well thought out and cool in the heat. Bed was very comfortable and shower was powerful and hot. The building is decorated beautifully in keeping with the period. A good variety of Breakfast food was provided and a packed one was provided when we had to leave early.Pool and gardens were a plus and beautifully maintained. It was the staff that stood out in this hotel. Young, professional and proactive. So helpful and welcoming they are a credit to the hotel, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely come back!
