With this hotel you get what you pay for its a one star hotel so don't expect many facilities they don't have a lift so it's not suitable for people who find stairs difficult But for its price its amazing you get a comfy double bed loads of wardrobe space a walk in shower toilet and sink the room is small but it's not outdated which I loved! It's just 20 minute walk up the road from town centre and very well connected to public transport And the staff were so lovely and helpful 😊 they give you towels and small shampoo and conditioner and you can buy water bottles and snacks from downstairs The hotel has no restaurant or bar but does have a terrace part to relax on.

This is a lovely hotel - modern and with all the facilities you expect in a hotel room. It's a little north of the Old Town, but right by a metro so you can go 3 stops if you don't want to walk. We found a great cafe for breakfast about 10 minutes south on the same road as the hotel. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. This is such excellent value for money - don't waste yours on a hotel in the old town!

There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel - it exceeded my expectations.

I have stayed in this Hotel 2 different dates in the space of a week. The first stay I was given a room upstairs which It was over my expectations and truly enjoyed staying there. The second stay I was given a room on the ground floor which I found being outdated and old-fashioned. It didnt have the same feel good vibe that I had on my first stay. However, it was clean and comfortable. The staff was different on each stay but both super welcoming and supportive. I would stay here again.

The discrepancies in the quality of the rooms provided. Was disappointed with the room provided on the second stay.

Hotel and staff very friendly and clean. We wanted 3 single beds, but due to mix up we ended up with 1 Double and 1 double bed settee, the staff added a single mattress on the floor , so it was ok but a little cramp . Bathroom and shower excellent. They also rented us a garage for the three motorcycles we were renting which was good form a security perspective. Hotel has great location near centre of Porto

Room could have been larger, but it was adequate, very clean and quiet.

I loved the fact that it was extra-clean. My bed was perfectly made and my pijama lovely folded on my pillow. The receptionist was extremely kind in giving me all the information to know the city. 15-20 min walking from the heart of Porto and close to the metro, bus stop, supermarket, automatic washing machine and nice bars where to have breakfast. The room was essential. It is an old building and they are trying to improve it.

The furniture is a bit old. It is not well soundproofed. I had cold water for my shower, but they explained there was a problem with the central.

This is a very good basic hotel just a short walk from the city centre. The rooms are very modern and clean. The bathroom was very large for this range of hotel. Check in was quick and the staff offered help to get around Porto and also provided a map. The location is fantastic near the centre but not in the most touristy area se you will find better restaurants.

They had good communication and accommodated our late arrival, making sure we had the info we needed to check in. It’s been pretty newly renovated and was clean.

The room was a bit tight for 3 people, and there wasn’t any hooks or racks for towels. It would also be great is the lights on either side of the bed worked independent of each other.

Hotel Grande Rio is located within 35 minutes walking distance from Campanha train station - it is worth to take this fact into consideration - it is not the center of Porto but it has some advantages - neighourhood is quiet, you are in a close distance to the FC Porto (info for football fans) and there is a lot of local restaurant with good prices in the area. Staff is very friendly and there is possibility to leave your luggage after check out. We have room with four beds, there is a view on the street, small balcony is available - in this price range (about 50 Euro total for 3 persons), it was a very good deal for this standard.

It is not a great disadvantage but worth mentioning for foreign tourist - you can not flush toilet paper in the bathroom.

The address says its r. De bonjardim but the entrance is on r. De santa Helena around the corner. I checked in late so I was walking up and down the street for a long time trying to find this (r.de bonjardim is a very long street). I'd update the address

Staffs were all kind, very quiet neighbour and quite close to Metro station. When I asked a receptionist for additional towels, he prepared immediately and kindly let me know when I returned to the hotel. Another receptionist gave me a clear instruction to check-out in early morning. I felt safe and confortable in the room. Facilities in the room were bit old but they were clean and good enough for simple stay. Overall, I have amazing experience with the hotel.
