Staff was particularly pleasant and helpful ( especially Raffaela). Great breakfast in the adjoining hotel which forms part of the complex. The apartment is only about 300 metres from the pedestrian area so ideal. However hilly and some older people can find it tiring especially going down to the beautiful river. The good news is that taxis are cheap so one could come back (uphill) in a taxi.

We only stayed in the apartment next door to the hotel building so cannot comment about that but the apartment was very roomy and we had a 3 bedroomed apartment with 2 bathrooms, and a good kitchen. It is an oldish but very comfortable apartment.

It was a very pleasurable experience staying at Hotel America. The location is very good and close to the main shopping street but despite that, also quiet. The flat is very roomy indeed with 2 large bedrooms. and one full bathroom plus a toilet and a good washbasin so in fact one and a half bathrooms. There is a large kitchen with a dining area plus a separate dining room. There is no sofa but we did not miss it. Very clean throughout and since it is adjacent to the Hotel, one also has the benefit of 24/7 reception. Very friendly and helpful staff. We also had an excellent buffet breakfast with a wide choice of plenty of hot and cold food. Porto is very hilly and it may not suit people with mobility issues but taxis are easily available and cheap. One small point. The second bedroom lacks a light near the bed, so if you wake up at night this might b a slight problem unless you move the bed towards the electric socket.

Nothing really negatiive about the place at all except the nightlight I mentioned

very nice, clean, quiet and comfortable room with the inner calm view, friendly staff. you can leave the luggage in a free of charge deposit room- what is really comfortable. a little bit boring breakfast, but it is still good enough for a good opinion☺️ the glasses, cups and an electric kettle would be nice to have in a room next time. anyway you can have an evening cup of tea from the reception desk. nice hotel👍

Price to quality - the best stay in Porto. Location is great - and even though there was a road outside the window, we did not really notice! :)

Breakfast should be improved, so it matches the great quality of the rest. It's the only 'negative' thing about this place. :)

Hotel with great conditions. Although the fact that is a 3 star hotel it felt like a 4/5 star hotel. The room was spacious and it had a comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was aesthetic and clean and had a really nice shower.

The breakfast was not that nice, we didn't have many options and the coffee and hot chocolate didn't taste good.

The apartment was very large with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, ample dining room and separate kitchen. Safe parking but limited Great continental breakfast

Two front bedrooms were on the main road. Parquet flooring has become unstuck in many places. This needs addressing to avoid an accident.

The reception staff were excellent. The bed and wardrobe were bigger than expected and overall, the room was very comfortable. The breakfast was great and included scrambled and fried eggs. I would stay at the Hotel America again.

Good location, near Trinidade and Bolhao stations, the latter is near lots of shops. Polite reception. Humungous bed I enjoyed swimming in on my own.

A hotel with one of those air-con systems that can't reliably supply warm air; what's wrong with a radiator? A few more TV channels wouldn;t have gone amiss. The breakfast buffet was good for sweet things but lousy for hot food (always gone cold) and coffee (the black was like an oily cappuccino and the capp' was like hot chocolate). Come to think of it, breakfast cereal was on offer but no milk.

Great room for the price in Porto, everything one needs. Big room, nice clean bathroom with good water pressure and constant hot water. Breakfast is quite good.

Not the absolute ideal location, but certainly within walking distance of all attractions and interesting areas to explore. Easy trade-off for the price and quality of the room.
