This is an amazingly original 1970s hotel full of retro features. It also has a couple of fab hand made wall hangings, (in the restaurant on the top floor and in the lobby. The view from our rooms on the 10th floor and from the restaurant were stunning, worth the stay on their own. The included continental breakfast was nice and the staff were extremely helpful.

Our bathroom was slightly too retro as in the tile on the wall was tatty, the sink was cracked and the (1970s) hairdryer didn't work. The neighbourhood is convenient but a bit "rough" and plenty of noise briefly at club kicking out time.

The vintage design, is a unique museum of a time that already is no more, it should have some renovations here and there to adapt to the necessities of the current times, however this is an unbelievable experience for a very (and I am underrating how very) low price.

I do think that there is way to many improvements that the hotel needs to the point of being of the believe that it might need an overhall refurbish, however I don't think they can afford it with the low prices that they have, at the same time I dont't think it will be easy to replace such unique feature, like the wall paper, or the old windows, but if they did it they could try to keep the concept and direct it to a different kind of public.

Very friendly staff, free parking in their car park; views of Porto from the room. Quirky retro décor. Room serviced daily; views from breakfast room. Yes, it's dated, but that's part of the charm about the place. It's clean, good water pressure and wifi. Breakfast was fine, in spite of other reviews given. We ate in the restaurant one evening, and have to say the food was amazing and reasonably priced. Staff were attentive and the sunset from the restaurant on the 13th floor is a bonus. Location to the main downtown area is perfect and only a short walk. Definitely would recommend this hotel, for it's quirkiness and value for money for a city.

Guess the air con could have been better, however, it didn't mar our stay

If you want to travel in time and go back in 70ies and also enjoy stunning view of Porto, then you're in the right place! 🙂 We stayed for three nights and had a very positive experience. Although the hotel looks old, everything is functional! So I would say it is a rather stylish vintage hotel than old and outdated. We had a nice, well-preserved 70ies room on the 11th floor with a stunning view of Porto, which we admired every morning and every night before going to bed. Hint to upcoming travelers: the hairdryer works only when the light in the toilet is switched on, and for a hot shower, turn on the tap and wait for 5 mins, hot water to pump it till 11th floor 🙂 The breakfast is very basic, but nice. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Trindade metro station (the station you stop from the airport), 10-minute walk from the center, along Santa Catarina Street. Marques metro station is also in your walking distance, around 800m. We didn't have an issue with the elevator as some reviewers did. It wasn't too slow and busy.

We missed some hot stuff for breakfast, like eggs, bacon, pancakes 🙂

I absolutely adored the vintage decor, to my understanding maintained in its original state. It really stood out to me in light of all my stays on my trip through Portugal. There was little sacrifice of comfort which was also appreciated.

The carpet is a part of the era appropriate decor, but does perhaps need a better cleaning method or should be replaced with another, easier to clean, era appropriate flooring as I can’t say it was fully clean but would not go so far as to say dirty.

Perfect place to feel like you live in the 60s. Very clean and silent. Everything worked. The view over Porto was amazing. Breakfast on the last floor (13th) was very good. From there you can walk to downtown in 30mins, or grab the metro in Marques stop which is 7mins walk. The hotel has a free private parking on the back and we had no issues finding a free space to park.

Not really a bad thing, quite funny actually, but the elevators are slow (like they were a few decades ago), we were staying on the 12th floor and the breakfast was on the 13th, so we got lost in the hotel kitchen while looking for stairs as the elevator call was too slow, we eventually had to wait for the elevator anyway.

I had a comfortable one night stay. everything was clean and tidy and all i needed. walking distance to the center with everything close at hand. in previous reviews people complained about the lift, and i had No issues. breakfast was simple continental fare with a beautiful view. good value for money.

no deal breakers for me. good value. the place is dated and a facelift would do wonders and at the same time i liked the retro charm - would be great it were renewed.

The view of the city is unbeatable, especially from the breakfast room on the 13th floor. The staff are efficient, everything works, the breakfast was good. The car parking war perfect - convenient and free.

It’s dated - decor & furniture feels like the 1970s - and a little tatty in parts. But it’s clean and in pretty good repair. The location is about 1.5km from the tourist areas (the old city) and more than 500m from the nearest metro. But we enjoyed the walks too & from.

The location is very central and as its name indicates offer exceptional views over Porto, being one of its tallest building, itself built on possibly the tallest urban hill, next to water tower and reservoirs. The hotel, we understand, occupies the highest floors of the building, except for the last were the breakfast area is, which transform into an unrelated restaurant at lunch and diner. There is a real retro touch in the interior design of the hotel, which brings character, notably with some pieces of furniture, lighting and decoration, notably ceramic tiles and also tapestry in the erakfast area. The area was very calm during our stay, days and night, probably the elevated position helped. We had chosen the Miradouro because of it pet friendly policy.

The retro feel comes with wear and tear, which in some cases translates in clutter and even lack of cleanliness impression, notably in the bathroom and along the bed headboard. At times, but not during the night fortunately, noises from upper floor was audible. The free breakfast was disappointing, we skipped it the second time, and went instead to a bar nearby. We could not reach the breakfast area using the stairs, there was may-be a way-up, be it was not clearly documented. One the two visible lifts was out of commission, and the remaining one had a reduced capacity, possibly due to safety reasons; not a welcome situation. Usage of stairs or alternative service lift was discouraged, notably because of no-return feature on doors to the service stairs and lift.

It was very clean, with great views from the 11th floor. It was a stop over for us with our dog and it worked very well. 20 min walk and your down by the river and all the attractions..There is free on site parking. We were leaving early the following morning to catch the boat from Santander. The staff went out of their way to provide us with a fresh croissant and roll with ham and cheese and coffee before we departed. Comically the coffee was cold but full marks for going beyond the call of duty.

It is in a run down part of Porto and at first sight my wife said " I am not going in there' when seeing the hotel. Don't be put off. Yes it is very old fashioned and the area delapidated but it is only a 2 star and reasonable. I would go again.
