The staff were wonderful, from the valet service believe his name was Marco to Savannah at the desk who was so gracious and welcoming. We went to the bar and Amanda made us the best drinks possible. We couldn't ask for better service. We decided to order food which was great. The location is perfect. We liked it so much that we definitely will stay there next month when we come back to San Antonio.

Breakfast is not included. The breakfast we purchased was excellent.

The elevators made a loud whooshing sound that could be heard in the room even though we were away from the elevators. It appears the open concept of the lobby and elevators causes noises to be magnified. We could also hear the live music from the bar very clearly in our 12th floor room.

The location was fantastic, whether walking or driving. We were hesitant in using their valet parking as we felt it a little spendy overall, but in the end, it saved time and money with finding parking, paying over and over, and access to our rental. They were always fast and courteous. The rest of the staff are very well mannered (must be that southern hospitality) and great at ensuring we were having the best time. A perfect example: we were booked into a room and upon entering, felt it had an odd smell, and without hesitation, were placed into an upgraded room at no additional cost. Excellent customer service overall. Thank you so much. We both loved it and would highly recomment the Hotel Contessa Riverwalk in SATX!

A couple of minor things we didn't mention until our checkout. The shower head in our room was way too low. I'm just over 6', so not that tall, but I had to crouch. That's typical in construction to save a buck on copper. The staff couldn't do anything about that. The diverter on the tub spout was gunked up with CLR so it was nearly impossible to divert water completely to the shower head, or back to the spout. Easy fix I'm sure they'll address. And one other thing... no microwave. We thought we'd bring leftovers back to the room one evening, but no way to reheat them. More and more hotels are doing away with that liabilty apparently.

Location and cleanliness. The property is right on the Riverwalk but back just enough so you don’t hear the noise when trying to sleep. You can walk to any site you would want to visit. The facility is very clean. Staff is amazing. The suite set up is great. The bar area and pool are also very nice. The mariachi group on Friday night was sensational.

The rooms are a little tired with stains on the carpet and wear in the bathroom. There is no microwave in the room, and it had two full sized beds- a little tough for families. (That was my fault. I wasn’t careful and was expecting two queens. I haven’t been in a hotel before with a two bed room that didn’t have queens.) Parking fees are outrageous at $53 per day. The hotel price is a little expensive- probably about $30-$40 too much per night given the offerings and the competition. Many of the other hotels offer a free breakfast and free happy hours; this one doesn’t.

The location was awesome. Everyone was pleasant informative. Everything was within walking distance that we wanted to do. We enjoyed our stay, just wish it could have been longer.

The parking could have been better. If not paying 50.00 a night for valet parking, you have to park down the street in a garage. Which was 32.00 for one night for us. The kicker is that if you drive anywhere, new charges apply. We were thankful that the parking valets informed us of this before we parked in the garage.

the restaurant. Saturday prior to our departure we stepped down to have dinner around 7:30 pm. as we approached the hostess and asked for a table for two, she replied that it was all reserved. that there would be tables available after 9pm. I explained that we were guest staying on the 6 floor and she still refused to accommodate us for dinner. one would think that if you spent over a $1,000.00 dollars for a nite at Contessa suites you would at least be able to enjoy a good dinner. instead we drove 25 minutes out of downtown San Antonio and found an outback steak house where we had dinner. I was very upset about how we were treated and I will not be returning

Didn't have breakfast, the hotel was great! Very comfortable, Nice Location! Enjoyed staying by the River Walk! I appreciated a low price at the last minute!

It was all great! Really enjoyed the Bed, it was so comfortable~ Hotel was in a great location! I felt very safe and hotel employees were very friendly! Check in was easy. Car valet was friendly, with a big smile to greet me!

Loved the open atrium and direct access to the Riverwalk. There is a balcony on the 2nd floor that is very tranquil - great place for breakfast or evening cocktails. This would be a superb wedding venue. Original artwork depicting "the Contessa" is striking.

Elevators were slow - Lots of waiting. Also, music by the pool was not relaxing - They should consider to play the same music as in the spa waiting room, or something else instrumental. There is no parking, so either pay for public parking (next block) or use the valet for 49 USD.

The location, the design and the feel we're just exceptional! The hotel is right on the riverwalk and just a 5 minute walk from the bardge tours. We were greeted by a friendly front-desk but a little low-energy. The room is so spacious it's incredible. Bed was very comfy and the room was quiet once the river tours had ended. The interior is young and quirky- we loved it.

We would've given this hotel a 10/10 if we hadn't decided to eat breakfast at the hotel. After a 10 minute wait we were seated, which would've been fine if the service wasn't this slow. We waited forever for very basic menu items. The black coffee was really watery and apparently the lemonade (according to the server) was so bad she refused to serve it.

location, cleanliness, style of the hotel. liked the linens and pillows. loved the nachos and salads in bar. food in general was very good. staff was helpful and nice.

cocktails were expensive, small and disappointing. margaritas were served in bourbon glasses. bar did not have a blender for piña coladas. glass of wine ridiculously expensive. missing attention to detail like complementary coffee only served on weekends, toiletries in room sparse and in small quantities, parking very expensive.
