The location was great for us. I liked the breakfast and the pancake maker. It was handy to a convenience store, so I could pick up a few things. I was delighted to find a laundry on site and made good use of it. We also enjoyed the hot tub, although the chemicals were kinda strong.

The beds were a bit soft and there weren't enough hangers in the closet but overall it was comfortable. Also (and not Holiday Inn's fault but you could advocate for this to make your guests' stay safer.) The street did not have a pedestrian crosswalk, so getting across the street was always scary. There was a CVS super close and it make no sense to drive but the street - scary.

The hotel and location is wonderful! I would definitely come back again. Staff is always pleasant. Need more handicap parking out front

It was a heatwave on the 4th floor in the hallways. There was NOT a do not disturb sign for my room. They came in to clean the room but didn’t take the trash Not a big deal, maybe they didn’t think it was trash because I put it in a plastic bag and set it aside. The bed in room 424 was HORRIBLE. I’ve stayed there before and had a wonderful room. I tossed and turned all night. I’m not happy I spent the amount of money I did to toss and turn on a HORRIBLE mattress and linen that smelled like it had not been cleaned in between guests.

The location of this IHG Holiday Inn Express is good, with a convenience store and gas station steps away, and it's a close drive to downtown Charlottesville. The breakfast was well-supplied, however the attendant could have been more alert when the supply was low. Room is comfortable and clean, with refrigerator, microwave, but the air conditioning took a long time for the manually operated thermostat to adjust to a lower temperature; July/August weather in Charlottesville, VA was typically hot and humid.

As mentioned, the breakfast had good variety, with family and children nearby, and a few individuals, however when the supply was low, breakfast attendant could have been more vigilant in restocking as there were not too many people in the dining area. Manually operated thermostat works, but very slow, it took a long time for the desired temperature to adjust to cool, typical temps in July/August are hot and humid in Charlottesville, VA

You had to ask for everything. Nothing was stocked in the room as it should be. I paid for a suite for 6 and it had two towels, no hand soap, and such. They were incredibly nice about giving you what was needed but it got to the point I felt like a nuisance for asking for things that should have been in place.

The room was fine and I like how the soaps and lotions are all stored in large refillable plastic containers. The breakfast was actually much better than one of those free continental breakfasts you typically get at a hotel chain.

I was surprised to learn that this place was about $50 more per night than one of the Hilton Garden Inn's special rates for guests visiting family nearby.

Loved everything about our stay here! Conveniently located. The bed was incredibly comfortable(hated to leave thst bed)! Excellent room design, and the breakfast selections, including coffee, were exceptional!(thank you for Quality gluten free options!) All the staff set a bar for hospitality and professionalism. We will definitely be back! Top notch air conditioning. Shower design was a dream. This Holiday Inn exceeded Hiltons, Westins, and other Marriott affiliates we have stayed and paid much more for. (And we stay at a lot of hotels in our travels).

Had a funky smell when checking in, but I believe they were doing some painting - was not overwhelming, and they had the fans on. Did not carry into other areas of hotel just the check in/out area. No waffle maker for my husband, but they had fresh pancakes!! Even better;) I don't like plastic forks, spoons, and knives but understand their convenience.

I've been having to stay in Charlottesville for work training. The bed here at Holiday Inn Express has been the most comfortable. The room was very spacious and breakfast was INCLUDED, this was the first hotel I've had a free breakfast included with my stay in Charlottesville. The staff... VERY FRIENDLY!!!! Everyone said hi or good morning or even excuse me as they passed in the hallway carrying big boxes. Front desk staff was helpful when I'd realized I'd forgotten a few items also. Great staff!!!!!

The bathroom had a very strong smell (as if someone had just had a bowel movement and not flushed). I finally figured out that it was the drain in the floor emitting the odor, so I covered the drain with towels. This helped but there was still a slight odor. The only other thing I noticed was more noise from neighboring rooms. Maybe it was because it was graduation weekend so the hotel was full? Nothing major just more doors shutting and some stomping from upstairs neighbors. Overall very good experience and this would be the hotel I'd return to of the others I've stayed at so far.

Breakfast options were good, but not plentiful enough. Good to have hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and yogurt for health-conscious guests.

The breakfast buffet ran out of many items 45 minutes before closing: some were ultimately refilled, but not oatmeal. The pancake machine was broken. They supplied more biscuits after a lengthy wait. Also the deadbolt lock was very difficult to operate in one of our rooms. This was reported at checkout.

The property is super clean and well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable and have much room for a few travelers. Mary is the key to this property. Her attention to detail and helping us with our every need was a huge plus! She assisted us with sheets and blankets for the pullout bed, check us in and out with care, as well as helped us with our luggage into the hotel. Give Mary some love!

The tv wasn’t user friendly.

The breakfast was delicious, though scarce at times. It was eventually refilled and we all left full and happy. Location was excellent, very close to 64, restaurants, and grocery stores. The room was very clean and the views were lovely. My kids especially enjoyed the pool.

Breakfast seemed a bit unorganized/slow to be refilled, but tasted very good. Pool was fun but extremely chlorinated to the point that my kids didn't even want to stay in it because it was hurting their eyes so bad.
