It is a proper pub stay and very cosy. The landlady Sally was exceptionally lovely and welcoming, she even upgraded us when a better room happened to be available. We were there for one night and one of our party got sick over the stay, Sally was extremely accommodating, made toast and coffee, and let us have a late check out to ensure we were okay to travel. The facilities were clean and the bed extremely comfortable, it was a perfect place for us to stay!

Something to bear in mind is that it is over a pub so during the opening hours there will be some music audible from the rooms, but this shouldn't interrupt sleeping hours.

An early drop-off for my bag was made available to me and I was greeted warmly upon arrival. The room was pleasant and comfortable with an abundance of tea/coffee and biscuits and access to a fridge outside the room with a supply of fresh milk. Bathroom facilities were good, although external to the room. I enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast which was included in the price.

The out-of-hours access to the room was easy but a little unusual, via an external fire escape staircase.

Sally and the team here at the Kings Arms are excellent. From the moment we arrived to when we left they couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. There are a lot of little touches such as a table in the corridor with little extras like a clock, sewing kit, fresh milk, extra teabags, card games etc etc. We ate here with family the evening before the wedding and the food was excellent and very good value prices. You pre-order the breakfast and it was lovely.The drinks prices are very reasonable too. We wished we could have stayed longer and will return.

The full English breakfast was substantial and meant we didn't need much for lunch. The beds were extremely comfortable.

Nothing specific about the property itself, but the 'garden view' turned out to be a bit of grass on the other side of the main road that contains a toilet block decorated with flowers. The pub itself does not have a garden, just a tarmaced outside drinking area. Stratton itself is a small village containing 2 pubs, a church and a general stores that doubled as a post office. There isn't much to do there, but that was fine for us as we only wanted to use it as a base to explore Cornwall and Devon.

It was an absolutely wonderful stay. Everyone made us feel so welcome. The bed was honestly the most comfortable one we have slept in and wow those breakfasts gosh they was tasty, superb quality food, cooked just how we like it (thank you chef). 100% recommend the Kings Arms, we will definitely stay again when down that area. The owner is a warm, friendly, helpful lady and quite honestly made us feel so comfortable.

100% can not find anything we did not like. So very comfortable and welcoming.

Nothing, all was good, although pub is on the main road it’s lovely and quiet at night.

Loved the oldie worldie atmosphere about the property. Excellent breakfast served, room was also quaint with beams. Host was absolutely magnificent and caring.

Didn't actually dislike anything, but anybody should be aware it is situated on a very busy road so best have the windows closed at night.

Lovely sized, clean and what appeared to be recently decorated room. Excellent host in Sally who went the extra mile! Great food in the pub and a good room rates and bar prices.

Already knew this when we booked so didn’t impact our stay but the room is on the main road so there is traffic noise until around 10.30pm if the have windows open but when closed very quiet.

Very friendly staff, lovely comfortable room really reasonably priced.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed so couldn’t eat there other than breakfast.

Breakfast, as all the food was very good and the evening meals were real pub grub nothing too fancy and at a very reasonable price as was the whole stay. We were lucky to have stayed on the Tuesday as it's quiz night and joined in with the locals though they were much cleverer than us so we ended up with the booby prize but even that was good. Two packets of Maltesers.

Not much. The room facilities were good. Lovely thick towels and plenty of them. Warm cosy room. Tea and coffee making facilities good with fresh milk available and plenty of biscuits.
