I didn’t like the segregation of staff. I didn’t think it was coincidental that all the best roles and management positions were held by white staff only. I was expecting more integration in Capetown and I think it needs to start in the businesses and hotels.

Amazing hotel. Very nice room. Clean and spacious. The hotel has been recently renovated. The courtyard in the center of the hotel is truly breathtaking. In a great central location. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Also the hotel has a full generator so you do not notice loadshedding when it occurs.

The lift is slow

Have been coming to Winchester Mansions for years. Hotel recently changed management and therefore the name was also changed to The Winchester Boutique Hotel. Rooms are big and comfortable and very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. A lot of variety at the breakfast buffet. Dinner at the hotel was great. Staff and reception really made guests feel welcome and always had a smile on their face.

Although the hotel was recently refurbished, rooms look a bit worn out. Some corners of the wall in the room were chipped as well as the furniture. Glass door to the bathroom couldn't close as the floor wasn't even. Window came off its hinges when opened. But during the day reception organised housekeeping to fix the problem. Management will need to look into these things, if the Winchester wants to keep up its name and status.

Nick and JD were perfect Concierge hosts, booked our trips and were super helpful in every respect. Great location, next to the promenade and seafront. 10 minute UBER to the V and A. The central area of the hotel is great for breakfast and lunch. The front bars get the evening sun, nice for a sundown drinks. Rooms are well appointed, comfortable beds and great shower. Pool is not huge but great for a dip on a hot day, does not get too busy. Breakfast choice is superb. Nice buffet and a la carte.

The generator can be noisy as are the room doors if guests leave / arrive late at night or early in the morning

I loved everything about this hotel. The location is perfect, a short drive from the V&A and centre of CT, sea-facing in Seapoint with the full mountain backdrop. Seapoint is really nice with lots of shops, restaurants and bars in walking distance and relatively safe (for SA). The hotel itself is gorgeous. It has a beautiful courtyard with red, purple and green Bougainvillea lining the whitewash walls. The hotel food is exceptional too. I love my food and every meal was above average. The room was spacious and had a lovely extension where my girlfriend could get ready. The bathroom was spacious and shower was very big too. To top it off, the staff were super friendly and super helpful. We spoke to them on a daily basis for help booking trips and restaurants and they went above and beyond to assist.

The two aspects that I felt left room from improvement: 1. The drains in the bathroom drained very slowly, and after leaving the shower running for a little while, flooded the bathroom floor. We did tell reception and they said they would get Maintinence to take a look. 2. The gym is VERY basic. There is a Virgin Active within walking distance if you require a more sophisticated setup.

Beautiful atrium/courtyard design cafe restaurant, there's a certain Miami vibe to it. I enjoyed people watching in the morning and afternoon. The pool is a plus. The location is not near much, but not far from anywhere either (located between Camps bay and Waterfront and not far from city).

F&B Staff need better training. Lot's of mixups. No acknowledgment of New Year on midnight of the 31st and absolutely no effort. It could be from anywhere but I had diarrhea for the rest of my trip, I'd like to see more Health & Safety measures around the breakfast buffet, which was good otherwise. Run out of bottled water but this seemed to be a thing in many restaurants in cape town during NY, I was surprised at first but then it happened in many other places as well.

This is a fantastic hotel! The staff, location, facilities are all top class. We had room 305, which I recommend. It was large and had a balcony with x2 chairs and a table with side/front view of the ocean. The bed was huge and very comfortable comfortable plus there was a small sofa to watch the tv from. The bath room had a shower and bath. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. They even allowed us to stay in the room until 6pm on check out day (for a small charge) which is SO helpful when you have a night flight. The hop-on-hop-off bus stops opposite the hotel and the V&A Waterfront is approx an 80 Rand Uber ride away.

The hotel is on a main road but was quiet enough at night not to disturb us. Otherwise there is nothing to dislike about the beautiful hotel.

The Winchester had the 'Wow' factor from the first interaction with the Door Person who greeted us as we parked outside the hotel and assisted with the luggage. As soon as we walked into the hotel, it had a very warm, inviting and chic feel. The reception/lobby area looked immaculate and the lady at reception was very attentive. Heading towards the room, there was another 'wow' moment stepping out of the lift to see the beautiful courtyard below us and the openness. The room was well decorated, beautiful furnishing and very clean. We also enjoyed a great view of the Promenade and Ocean in the morning fron the room. We ordered room service and asked the restaurant to knock when ready and not call the room as my baby was sleeping, they were very polite and respectful. The food was also to a very high quality - super tasty! Breakfast was excellent, superb selection in the buffet and also good quality hot breakfast options. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly which made the experience very enjoyable!

A do not disturb sign was put up during my baby's morning nap but we still received a knock from a staff member looking to fix the toilet. It was not reported by us hence we didn't expect anyone but we did notice the toilet seat cover was skewed. We asked him to return in the afternoon, however we noticed it wasn't fixed for the remainder of our stay. The toilet seat wasn't an issue for us. It was also very windy, perhaps the sign came off the door handle. Other than this minor incident, there was nothing we didn't like!

The hotel is in an excellent location, Close to everything but also far enough away to be chilled. The building is beautiful and the central courtyard is a lovely location for breakfast. The thing that stood out most for us was the staff. They were all so welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The Shoreditch restaurant was extremely good and we ate there several times. There was nothing we could fault, highly recommend staying there.

Nothing !

The location was perfect. It was nice to have the sea point promenade for walks. It’s an easy (and inexpensive) cab ride from the center of Cape Town and the sightseeing bus stops directly in front of the hotel. Breakfast was extensive and delicious and the staff were all wonderful and friendly.

The road the hotel is located on is busy and loud. We had a sea facing view and each morning we were awoken around 630am by traffic or people passing through the front door (it was directly below our room). If you’re a light sleeping I would look for a room away from the road.
