I recently had the pleasure of staying at the "Escape" hotel in Seoul, and it's undoubtedly one of the best I've experienced in over 30 years of global travel. The retro yet meticulously curated decor, spacious and comfortable rooms, ideal location, and the exceptional friendliness and service quality of the staff, whether during breakfast or at the front desk, are commendable. I can't praise it enough. While I couldn't rate it higher than a 10, primarily due to the lack of laundry service and the room temperature issue (set at 28°C upon arrival and unadjustable), these are minor details. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

This property is absolutely amazing. Location and cleanliness was top notch. The aesthetic and fine details were really impressive. The bed and pillows felt like a cloud. I wish I had a bathroom that size in every hotel, it was quite spacious. The bar on the top floor is stunning. There is a Starbucks Reserve in the hotel. It may be the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve been to a few on the ‘World’s Best List.’ I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Sitting area and roomy bathroom with private closed door for both toilet and shower each! Very elegant decoration! Staff were so warm despite we weren't totally dressed up all the time.

The entrance was a slightly confusing with the hotel actually being 7th floor and up. The uphill walk was difficult with luggage to the front entrance though.

The location is excellent. literally 30s from the subway station. Surprisingly for Seoul the street was really quiet despite the boulevards. The room was huge with a extremely comfortable bed. The furniture and all the interior design was fantastic, creating a really French/Victorian vibe. Close to major objectives with a big local market just around the corner.

I found the room not entirely practical. The bathroom had the sink and the bathtub in the middle of the hallway going to the main room. So, if water spilled then it would be quite a mess. The lights were controlled by buttons in a really interesting way. For example if you wanted to go to the bathroom you had to turn on the lights from the shower, toilet and sink at the same time. going to the bathroom at night has been a real adventure since the sink lights were powerful enough to wake someone up. At the check in we were announced that if you damage anything you will be charged. I found it quite strange that they really insisted on this, like this is the most important thing for them. Felt like they knew that I surely will break something. Not a nice feeling.

This is a very nice, albeit somewhat quirky hotel as the hotel's own pictures make clear (the OTT vintage French-style is underlined by the elevator voice saying the floor numbers in French!). When in the reception area be sure not to miss the huge hardwood-style library room just beside it. My room was spacious and the old style bath (with faux gold plating on the plumbing of course) gives it luxurious feel. Staff were excellent. Tony deserves particular mention for his help - he alerted me of the fact one needs to book well in advance for the fast trains on weekends and even helped me book the ticket (the Korean online system is a bit tricky)! He also recommended an excellent Korean BBQ restaurant (Arirang - walking distance from the hotel). The hotel is quite close to the Seoul station so one can take the express airport train there and get a taxi for a short ride to the hotel or take a pleasant 20 minute walk across a funky bridge-cum-garden with colorful lighting at night and then straight down the street to the hotel.

There is really no view in many rooms as it is blocked by an adjacent (even taller) building. One has to reserve in order to use the gym which in my view involves unnecessary scheduling. Breakfast is not included (but there is a Starbucks right near the reception area).

We had a fantastic stay at Lescape: A Parisian Escape in the heart of Seoul. The hotel's elegant Parisian-inspired decor was a delightful surprise. The staff, especially Sally, were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my visit even more enjoyable. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch to my experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. I highly recommend Lescape for a unique and memorable stay in Seoul.

I can confidently rate this hotel a perfect 10 out of 10. Firstly, the interior decor is truly impressive. Secondly, the staff exceeded our expectations with their kindness, helpfulness, and politeness. To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, and it was nothing short of excellent. The room itself was not only incredibly spacious but also tastefully decorated, providing the utmost comfort. The hotel’s location is conveniently situated near everything and literally right in front of the metro station. I can honestly say that I have no complaints about this hotel; it is simply outstanding. Without a doubt, I would choose to return for another stay.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Is an excellent place to stay in Seoul. Close to a subway and good food around, particularly in the basement of the Shinsegae department store. We got upgraded and were on the 23rd floor. Our room was large with a good sitting area and large bathroom with a tub. Everything was clean and extremely comfortable. Room was great value though hard to say because we dont know what it would be like without the upgrade. Staff were all friendly, helpful and spoke good English so communication was easy. Overall a great place to stay.

Breakfast was £50 a couple/day and as my wife is a vegetarian very uncertain what she would be able to eat. Also the two restaurants, one Chinese and one fine dining, were frighteningly expensive. We ate in the Chinese and it was good but very expensive compared to other local offerings. We eat in fine dining restaurants and the cost wasn't prohibitive to us however you aren't going to eat there for 4 nights on the trot. It definitely needs a reasonably priced restaurant. We bought fruit, cereal and milk in a local supermarket and had that for breakfast, probably £20 for all 4 mornings.
