The staff were exceedingly welcoming and courteous, the meals were really excellent, the room very comfortable and the location perfect for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing experience. It was also fairly central for accessing most of the island's main destinations. I would definitely recommend the hotel and, if we return to Tenerife, would absolutely return to this hotel.

If there was one single, and minor issue, it was that during evening meals the main course tended to arrive when we had barely finished the starter.

Very cozy and nice place. Comfortable and large room. Appreciate that a electronic heater was provided on request. The owners replied messages very quickly and gave us lots of good advice for restaurants, view points, etc. Like the private spa too. Food is good especially for the breakfast. My room was sunny and facing the west which I really like.

If robes could be provided for spa for free, or if more towers could be provided for spa, that would be wonderful, but given the value for staying is already good, I wouldn't complain too much about it. Also, the tap water is not safe to drink straight away - it might be obvious for the locals but not for us, so it would be very helpful to have a notice board somewhere about this.

We had a great three night stay in this cosy hotel. Good choice for people who do not like anonymous big hotels on the coast. As the hotel is situated in a village Vilafor at an altitude of 1400 meters, it is ideal for tourists intending to visit Teide national park. I recommend to book a half board because the meal is great, both breakfast and dinner. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpfull. We would definitely to stay again in this hotel.

Excellent location in the beautiful mountain village of Vilaflor. Easy access for lots of hiking. Cleanliness of the hotel was immaculate, rooms were beautiful and very spacious. The food in the restaurant was incredible and the quality of the food was fantastic. Plenty of choice on the menu including local dishes. Breakfast was excellent and varied.

Service at meal times felt rushed at times- more time between courses would have been appreciated.

This was a lovely small hotel! Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We booked breakfast and dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The local wine on offer were lovely and the staff was always charming and provided as with some good tips for our travels on the island!

The only negative thing during our stay was the coffee offered at breakfast, but we had a coffee machine in our room so it was a non-issue.

We stayed at Vilaflor for 3 nights since its a very good starting point for many hikes in Teide National Park. Hotel El Tejar is a very comfortable place to stay in Vilaflor. The rooms are clean, breakfast was delicious, after the hike we could relax at the outdoor swimming pool. The staff was very friendly. We had a great time at El Tejar!

We stayed at Hotel El Tejar & Spa from February 3th to 9th, 2023 and had a very good time. The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was delicious, with attention to every detail and served at the table. The dinner at the restaurant also offered a good choice and the food was good. We can only recommend it.

Spacious rooms, spotlessly clean and kind caring staff. We stayed here before our ascending hike to El Teide and loved it. Amazing breakfast unfortunately we missed the dinner because we didn’t book before 17:30. If we only had known! We found a nice restaurant nearby though, as there are a few in the village anyways. They close pretty early though so mind that. 5 stars, definitively recommended!

Very nice hotel in Vilaflor. We first stopped here for one night while doing the GR131 from Arona to La Esperanza, but then we returned at the end of our vacation. The hotel can be a great base for daily hikes in Teide park. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, they helped us even to arrange a taxi to pick our heavy backpack to the next stop on our way so we could enjoy a baggage-free day hike. Great breakfast as well!

Beautiful setting, good and friendly service, clean comfortable cosy room, with sufficient heating. Very good beds. Breakfast with fresh fruits & yoghurt, eggs, cheese served at the table. By booking diner included you can choose a starter, main course and dessert from the menu, plainty of choose also traditional foods. Excellent price quality. Very quiet location. Perfect, we would book there again
