Location is mid mountain just off the gondola from Grindelwald up to First. Super scenic and quiet atmosphere with spectacular views across and down the valley. Lovely decor and very helpful and attentive staff. Excellent restaurant. A real treat for a summer mountain stay.

Quiet atmosphere and amazing scenery come with the slight disadvantage of the gondola stopping operations in the late afternoon, somewhat limiting mobility to leave and return to the hotel in the evening. The overall experience more than makes up for this, though, and I would definitely stay here again.

Go to hotel by cable car is very easy but, if you drive a car it very difficult in tourist hour because we have to use same road as totribike way it only 1 lane and GPS in google map to reach the hotel is WRONG.

The location of this property is outstanding. The superior quadruple room was perfect for our family (2 adults & 2 kids (13 &9). It was a true Swiss chalet experience. Of our 3 week holiday this was our favourite destination & accommodation. The buffet breakfast was small but excellent quality - the croissants were the best we had on our whole holiday. The restaurant food was very nice and the hot chips were amazing.

We weren’t able to find anything we didn’t like.

I loved that it had spectacular views. the dining room was lovely. The waitress from Spain went above and beyond.

getting. there was awful. it was 3 attempts. can you not post signs?? anything to make you feel like you’re headed the right way. google took me on a gravel road that had a dangerous incline. it was not the right way. Google gave us 3 ways. we made it on the third attempt. so it took over an hour to find.

The hotel is in an amazing location with breathtaking views! It is ideally situated for hiking in the mountains. The hotel was quiet and peaceful. Our room had an amazing view of the mountains and the village down below! The room was clean, spacious and updated. The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfasts and dinners we had there were all very good! We enjoyed our stay!

We stayed in July, so there were a fair number of flies. Some of the other rooms had hallway bathrooms.

The location is wonderful, far from the beaten path! You need to come by car or use the cable car, so that is something to be aware of. Breakfast is just lovely there, better than expected for a location like this!

Matresses were a bit uncomfortable, could feel the springs through the bed. The personell in the restaurant could have been a bit more attentive, at time waiting for 20 minutes to get someone at your table even though there was almost no one there in the evening for dinner.

This hotel has amazing staff and a fantastic location. Our room was very comfortable with a beautiful view. The narrow road leading up there is not too difficult (not too steep, not precipitous), but there can be many bikers coming in the opposite direction as the road is not really used by cars - in this case you might need to stop and re-start uphill. But the location is totally worth the effort, as the views are fantastic and it is farther (cca 10 minutes) from the hustle and bustle of Grindelwald. There are a lot of hiking trails in the area and the First is only a short gondola-ride away from here, so we could have spent much more time exploring. Their restaurant is really good too! Awesome place, one of my favourite stays ever.

Parking in Grindelwald is not easy in high season (August), that's why we chose to drive up. In the end I was glad we did.

Staff was excellent, friendly, informative. Location (if you want to be up the side of a mountain) was lovely. Amazing views. Very clean hotel. Nice to have drinks overlooking Grindlewald and mountains. Playground outside for little ones. Renting trotti bikes right outside hotel and going down the mountain was great activity for older kids and coordinated parents! View from room window was gorgeous.

Family qunituple room was pretty tight, with low ceilings. Bathroom and showere were very nice, and private, but you needed to walk down the shared hallway to get to it.

OMG, this place is truly amazing!!! You can see the sunset casting its rays on the snow-capped mountains right in front of the hotel's lounge chairs. And don't forget about the night! I strongly recommend you go and witness the visible Milky Way and the countless stars in the sky. There is no light pollution here, so you can see the Milky Way clearly!!! Remember to bring your camera and tripod and get ready to enjoy the starry sky

Very clean, house-like feeling, very warm vibe. The views are amazing, and next to the hotel is the cable cart to the top or to the city of Grindelwald. The restaurant downstairs was also very welcoming and the friendly staff very kind. Winnie or Winny? (the waiter) did her job very good and we had a few good laughs.

The bathroom was private, but in another room. So everytime we had to go to the bathroom we had to cross the hall which is public. I understand that they made that decision but it was not apparent when I made the booking. Also the road to the hotel is do-able but very steap and just not enjoyable to do every day, it takes 15-20min from Grindelwald. We went with the cable cart instead (but this is only possible from 8:30 to 17:00)
