The staff was excellent! Very attentive and helpful from check in to breakfast to bar. They made us to go lunches when we got up too early for breakfast and were always quick to ask if they could do anything. The pool and hot tub were very nice on a rainy afternoon. Great customer service! Excellent location, perfect if you plan to do First. Easy access to bus or train as well as shopping/dining options. The view from the room was picturesque!

Beds are a little firm, but that is personal taste, and I am a fan of fans in the bathroom. Nothing that got in the way of an excellent stay!

We arrived after an 800km drive from Arras in northern France so crisps and complimentary welcome drinks were a great start. The hotel is well located and very clean throughout although feels a little dated in parts but possibly adds to an alpine charm. We also had a balcony enjoying a great view of the Eiger, which we did often. When booking, the additional price for adding dinner to bed and breakfast seemed too good to be true (£20 per person per night) so being fearful of Swiss prices we opted for dinner too. The dinner menu is simple but excellent starting with salad, then a starter, a main, desert and cheese. We never managed to make it as far as a cheese course! The main courses were delicious not least a beautifully cooked piece of salmon on a creamy linguine. We were always offered a little more by the supremely friendly staff but declined as despite being delicious we were simply already well fed. All the staff were so welcoming but Manuel and Carlos in particularly were exceptionally hospitable. They made breakfast and dinner service a real pleasure!! We didn’t get time to use the other facilities like pool and sauna so hope to return.

It felt a little outdated on arrival but this became part of the charm.

Hospitality of the hotel was awesome. The staff took care of every tiny thing and made sure that guests really feel at home and comfortable. The food was great. Carlos from the hotel staff was an excellent guy, he made sure that my son also enjoyed his stay there. This hotel is certainly recommended and we also would like to stay here in future. While leaving the hotel one part of me was itching to stay more and it was just because of the sheer efforts of the staff. The location of the hotel is wonderful, just in front of eiger mountain. The view from the outside table is magnificent.

The food could include famous cuisines from around the world.

Everything.. the meals from the restaurant were very satisfying! It is maybe 1min walking distance to the gondola to first cliff walk/paragliding.. Good walking distance to the Glacier Canyon.. Great Mountain View in the morning at the balcony.. Staff are SUPER friendly and helpful.. It was my birthday when I checked in, and they gave me a special dinner treatment with candle, sundae for dessert and card.. And they accommodated me for late check-out (thank you). I will MOST definitely be back if I visit Grindelwald again for Jungfraujoch!

My stay was too short!

This 5-generations hotel is a real family business. They know what their guests need. Kindness (distinguished) is their middle name. It’s not posed, it’s in their DNA . The talented, multilingual and hard-working staff answers any question about the region, facilities etc… View at breakfeast and dinner is just stunning and the pool is such a nice extra. The diners are very high standard and always a treat. The use of produits du terroir markes the swiss traditions (I like!) and they are also served at breakfeast (e.g. swiss cheeses and homemade dried fruits and so much more!) The rooms are impeccably clean. I was also charmed by the traditional Swiss elements here & there in the hotel. Thank you very very much for the most pleasant stay.

Good location, excellent view from the room terrace, 2mins walking to First station, hotel arrange pick up and drop off service from Grindelwald train station, the swimming pool is about 20 meters long and about 1.4 meter depth which is suitable for all kind of swimmers, and with sauna and jacuzzi facilities it is perfect relax after a hiking day. And hotel provides a bag of home made chips upon departure which is very touched for the hotel guest.

The staff is amazing and the hotel has a long history. The food is amazing and worth adding the dinner! We enjoyed one of our favorite meals in Switzerland there. The pool and hot tub views are incredible. The front desk scheduled our tickets for paragliding and took great care of us. We loved it here.

It’s on the Main Street. If visiting in the summer and sleeping with the windows open, it can be disruptive.

Love the modern rooms, but especially the ones with balcony facing the mountains. Service was exceptional, especially Marta and the food service staff. Great location too.

Didn’t like the pillows, prefer something softer and not so lumpy. Wish the rooms had AC when it gets warm.
