This is a gem. Only 4 tram stops from Zurich train station. About 10 minutes in all. The facility and thevroom were spotless....Swiss spotless!! The room was on the small side, not uncommon in cities, but comfortable for a couple. Bathroom and shower worked perfectly. Ample water, juice, coffee, and tea downstairs in the lobby are available mostly during the day. I must poit out that the reception staff were fantastic. Magi is so sweet. Greated us with a huge smile and even poured us a cup of coffee. This is because we the only customers in the early morning. She took our luggage to stow away for a few hours. Gave us a street map with a few directions. During our short stayed always stopped to ask how we are. Just for her personality and attention, it's worth staying here. But I need to thank Barbara for helping us get a key to open the kitchen and also being so polite and professional. We had a great time here and highly recommend this hotel.

Very close to the Kunsthaus, away from the main tourist site but the tram stop is just around the corner, so no problem. Breakfast was good and varied. Staff friendly and helpful. Very interesting interior decor. We had a spacious room facing the side street, so no problem with the traffic noise.

There was only one chair in the room when we arrived even though it had a king size bed and plenty of space. They brought another chair as soon as we asked, so not a problem as such. Just strange. The shower was lovely, but it would improve with glass panels rather than the plastic curtain so the water doesn’t get all over the bathroom floor.

Really nice rooms. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Good facilities in the room such as airco and a round of complimentary soft drink/beer. Wonderful location. So good - central to town but in a very good area of town. Lovely small bar nearby and a couple of well priced Italian restaurants. Very nice staff always there to help. Lots of attention to safety such as an abundance of smoke detectors.

I would have preferred a “self-service” coffee machine . Now I had to ask each time for coffee. Small point of improvement

The stay in the Hottingen was pretty close to perfect. Every person we met from the staff was enormously kind. For instance, the first night the girl at the reception desk explained to me how to use public transport and recommend me a restaurant that turned out to be perfect. The boy in charge of the breakfast was also really kind. Clara, the girl who used to clean our rooms, speaks Spanish and was super kind to my parents. Regarding the rooms themselves, both were really comfortable. The small one even had a balcony with a beautiful view. The location is also perfect, close enough to the central station (you can walk or use the tram stop that is 2 minutes from the hotel) but in a silent and peaceful area. There are supermarkets and stores nearby, and the hotel has a kitchen with the basics. I loved my stay at the Hottingen, I want to live there.

Maybe the beds could be a bit more comfortable.

Lovely hotel- rather small and homey, extremely clean, very quiet, and very nice staff. It is not super central but this was not a problem because it is only a few bus stops from the center. I would highly recommend it

I can find nothing bad to say about this hotel - only the fact that there are no restaurants near it and it takes a 10 minutes bus ride to the city center in order to eat dinner. The good side of this is that te hotel is very quiet and this is a big plus

The hotel is closed to the railway station and they are about 3-4 stops which are good for travel. this hotel located in a calm zone which is good for taking rest and recharging for the next day. Breakfast is very good with good quality and be welcome by the staff. The facility is good and looks new with a comfortable bed and big room space for 4 peoples. Highly recommend a stay in a calm area and not too far from the train station. It also near the Denner Express which can buy stuffs in good price, including the chocolate and food for you and your friends

there is few railways number pass the station, so please check and plan for take a ride

Hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. Number 3 tram takes you there from the station. It is perfectly situated for the Kunsthaus - less than 5 min walk. Opera house 10 minute walk downhill past some beautiful houses. My room was comfortable & quiet. I had a balcony outside and it was lovely to sit there when the heat had gone down in the evening. Staff on reception couldn’t have been more helpful & welcoming Breakfast was comprehensive – range of cooked and cold items. Tables were spacious and the staff were lovely I couldn’t fault this small but perfectly formed hotel. I’ll definitely be returning in the future. I’d recommend anyone thinking of booking to just go ahead and do it, you won’t be disappointed! Thanks to all the staff for making my short stay so enjoyable

Nothing - this hotel was perfect in every way for me

We loved Hotel Hottingen! The room was amazing! It was clean, quiet, spacious and newly renovated. The location was convenient, as we were able to walk or take a tram to the Aldstadt area. There was also a grocery store near the hotel. The hotel staff was wonderful! They were very helpful and pleasant. We would definitely stay here again!

We didn't have the breakfast since it was an additional cost. We wish the breakfast wasn't quite as expensive.

The location was great. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were fantastic. Martina, in particular, checked us in and she helped us out a lot; she answered every question we had - with a smile. She made the stay much better.

The air-conditioning was not cooling properly and was in a weird place - on the window and behind the curtain. This meant keeping the curtains open, during summer, when the sun rises at 5am.

The hotel is located central, in a very nice neighbourhood and very quiet at the same time. The staff is very kind and very helpful. the room was very nice and so the hotel. coffee, tea, water and orange juice are available in the lobby complementary for hotel guests. we enjoyed our stay and shall go back if again in Zurich.
