Taiwan Youth Hostel & Capsule Hotel

I like the location, near in MRT, Family Mart, everywhere. The Bed is very comfy, its spacious and Cold haha. The staff are vwry accomodation if you need something, they will guide you thouroughly.

One of the nicest hostels I've ever been to! The bunk was extremely spacious & comfortable. The hostel has a full kitchen with a coffee machine & cold/hot water on demand. Umbrellas and books are available to borrow. The bathrooms are large & select toiletries are provided. The neighbourhood has many, many places to eat & shop. The hostel is easy to access from Taipei metro exit M8. If you're arriving from the airport, you'll have to make your way from the Taoyuan MRT to the Taipei MRT before looking for exit M8. It is a long-ish walk, and a bit confusing if you are unfamiliar with navigating large train stations, but once you get to M8, the hostel is very easy to find.

This was a great value hostel in a top location - just a short walk to the main Taipei Station, so you can easily commute around the city and take the train to the airport. I hadn’t stayed in a capsule hotel (or hostel) before, so it was a new experience for me. The facilities were super clean. I liked the heated toilets and free espresso coffee. Staff were great and the keycard access made everything simple.

I liked that it was quiet, but it was almost uncannily quiet in the room at night. Also in the kitchen people didn’t really talk much. Most of the guests seemed to be Taiwanese or Chinese so it wasn’t easy to socialise as a Westerner. I felt that my belongings were safe, but I only had a small carry on bag which I could fit inside my pod. I didn’t see any lockers, so I’m not sure if this would be ideal if you had more luggage. Overall this suited me for a short stay, but I would pick another spot for any stay in Taipei longer than 3-4 days.

Excellent location, just a three minutes walk if you can find exit M8 MRT. The hostel offers 24-hour free coffee from a coffee machine and yummy snacks to choose from. Very close to 7-11, Family Mart, and plenty of restaurants, shops in the underground Taipei Main station. You could almost go anywhere from this location. They also have a lift, for those found difficult to use stairs.

The place could be cleaner. Bathrooms are very dirty. They use pull up and down screen instead of curtains in the capsule, which is not convenient. There were a few tiny mosquitoes in the capsule, I was bitten quite badly and was very itchy. I do not feel the area is clean, but the linens feel clean and comfortable.

Excellent common area next to the reception, perfect for working. It has a welcoming bright and modern design, with couches, sofas and breakfast tables. Clean bathroom and toilets. Plenty of showers and toilets for boys. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge free coffee and some snacks. The capsule is spacious and high enough to sit. There's even a shelf that doubles as a narrow desk and suitable for a small laptop. There's 3 sets of lights, 2 electrical points & 2 USB ports. Very convenient location next to Taipei Main Station & Metro (exit 8) is closest. Plenty of eateries within easy walking distance.

The mattress was thick, but very firm. By the 3rd night, it felt like someone had been punching my ribs. The AC in the capsule isn't strong enough. I had to leave the privacy curtain partially open to let the air circulate. No locker.

It is close to the MRT and Taipei Main station to Taoyuan airpot. Close to restaurants and shopping centers. I also like that the toilets and shower rooms are not crowded. Everything you need is provided like cotton buds, cotton pads, gargle solution, shower soap and shampoo, hair dryer and I also appreciated the giveaway earplugs which are very much needed. The capsules are clean and convenient, with mirror plugs and hanger for clothes.

The stairway going up and down the bunk is slippery and narrow. I struggled going up and down.

The bunks feel private, quiet and clean. The toilet/shower area is also clean with free toiletries like tissue, cotton swabs and wipes, facial cleanser, shampoo and shower gel, mouth wash, etc. The toothbrush and toothpaste are for sale for NT$10. The first bath towel is free. My favourite spot is the kitchen area - there are free coffee and tea, snacks and candies, and toast in the morning from 7AM. I love hanging out in the kitchen more. There are also books you can borrow in the shelf. And I can't forget the male staff who helped me check-in late in the evening. He was very friendly, helpful and all smiles. The hostel is very close to M8 exit, just around the police station. Family Mart and 7-eleven are also right outside. This is probably the only hostel that I'm gonna stay at whenever I'm in Taipei. I definitely loved my time there. It was worth the price.

The single sofa chair in front of the shoe locker outside Zone C looks dirty - stains and molds are staring right at you. I hope they replace it soon.

area is cosy and good amenities in the toilet. bed space was good. can fit a cabin luggage and pack in it easily. i like the table and mirror within the bed space to place small stuff and prep for the morning. 3 lights options in the bed space for different purposes. very well for lit for reading. kitchen area is small but has pretty much everything needed. theres elevator for use and easy walk from main station. many food options around the area.

the bed was hard and pillow is not very comfortable. toilet can be cleaner. the drawing of the blinds can be easier. it was a hassle pulling up and down when getting in and out the bed.

I love the entire aesthetic of the place. It's very modern, and the common areas (kitchen, lounge, multipurpose area) are all very spacious - a big deal for a big person like me. I didn't even mind the capsule style, it fits me pretty well and there's enough area to place things and still sleep comfortably. If you didn't bring your own towel or other necessities, they have them for a minimal fee (e.g. renting a bath towel is 50 NTD while the razor is 10 NTD), but other consumables like cotton buds and mouthwash are available daily. WiFi is very strong in the common areas. Location-wise, it's near Taipei Main Station exit M8, so it's very accessible, with nearby Family Mart, McDo, and local restaurants. Did I mention the aesthetic was nice? I definitely will choose this the next time I visit Taiwan!

Don't expect the WiFi to be as strong inside the rooms. I didn't mind, but it may be a small concern for you. Also, the rooms are mainly capsule-type, just a heads up!

Stayed here to try out a different location in Taipei (only have stayed in Ximending before). Less of a "walking street" area, but very close to Main Station if that is a priority. Still easy access to shops and restaurants. Capsule was comfy and quite private. Staff was friendly! Freebies (coffee and snacks) quite awesome! Also probably best coffee shop in Taipei right outside 💪

Washrooms get a bit funky after a busy day. Cleaners seem on it though. Not quite the same "vibe" as some hostels, but quiet and chill. Maybe more people using it for a single night or two before moving on? Maybe a bit more guidance on when the room lights go off, etc. is needed, as I found I had to go turn lights off fairly late both nights.
