This is situated in the middle of Stone Town but is enclosed with two courtyards and a restaurant. My room was on the third floor. There are plants and coconut palms within the courtyard/ restaurant and a small swimming pool. By the lift is a bookcase with second hand books (I contributed a couple of books). The restaurant was excellent value at dinner and welcoming. My room had a kitchenette. My bed had a mosquito net and I particularly liked the fact that every evening a woman came to sort the mosquito net out, close the windows and spray the room with mosquito killer.

Payment was demanded in cash when I arrived and I was escorted to the nearest ATM which didn't help because I couldn't withdraw the required amount. I was particularly annoyed because I had guaranteed the room with my credit so the money was available. This business with credit cards - it is erratic. One minute cards work and then they don't because of the signal. Television had to be tuned and then I could only get a couple of stations, Africa Today and a channel showing a drama in Arabic. Also at night even if I switched it off, the television light lit up the room.

A nice hotel with good ambiance right in the heart of Stone Town. Vehicles can't drive up to the entrance so you have to walk a short way from where you're dropped off. Didn't use the pool but it looked inviting. We ate one night at the hotel restaurant - staff was friendly and food was good. Breakfast was buffet style with an egg station. Rooms were a good size and comes with a small kitchen and a fridge. Bathroom was clean, although there's the occasional smell of sewer so we closed the door. Some rooms have a small balcony, and the elevator was a real plus for hauling luggage to the 3rd floor. There's a spa attached to the hotel. Had a massage and facial which was enjoyable.

Apart from the smell in the bathroom, there wasn't much to complain about. A very decent hotel overall.

The reception staff was very helpful - all of our luggage was late over 24 hours and the personel proactively helped us to track it with the airport staff and organised a taxi driver who helped us to find it. They were open to all requests we have. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and the location of the hotel was very comfortable - close to all atractions of Stone Town, in it’s very heart. It allowed us to discover the streets full of local life and shops. Good standard for the price.

we spent our honeymoon at antonio garden hotel. The hotel was the right choice. The staff was friendly and efficient. Our room was clean and it was cleaned every day carefully, a nice bonus was also the opening of the bed every night. The restaurant connected to the hotel was also of high quality, we ate there every day. Breakfast also had a good selection of different options.

The only minus of the hotel is the location in the stonetown, in the first days we got lost many times, but at the end of the holiday we found our way through different alleys to the hotel without any problems. On the other hand, it was nice when everything you needed was nearby, but if you don't like getting lost, stonetown is not the right choice.

Location is ok, staff is nice, security is good because there are Masai Mara warriors protection the guests, including at night. There is a mosquito net present, which is nice ..with some holes so bring your own too if you are in malaria season.

The pools were too dirty. You can't swim in them. From the large pool, you can't even see the bottom since the water is so murky and cloudy. The other small pool is slightly better, but still way too cloudy to try to swim in it. Breakfast was a little too simple and not super nice (some stall bread, few options), but still okay and they will fry an egg to your liking.

Very nice room and bathroom, perfectly cleaned daily by the house keeping staff, comfortable bed, amazing breakfast with lot of home made food, very friendly and helpful staff, very pleasant outside restaurant serving very nice food. I stayed there for 2 months with my girlfriend and I'm very happy I chose this hotel :) will definitely come back again!

Here I will just list a few things that could be improved, even though none of them is a big problem: poor wifi in the room, bad smell in the room around 10-11am, water leakage in the bathroom during heavy rain periods.

The room and staff were very accommodating and friendly. The staff of the hotel and spa were able to help me with anything and everything that I needed. I loved that the spa was easily accessible from my room. It was also so close to downtown and we could walk to shops nearby to buy souvenirs, eat local cuisine and see popular attractions.

My only concerning issue I had with the property was the amount of cats on site. It was very uncomfortable with eating in the hotel restaurant and all the cats surrounding our table.

I stayed here for 8 days. After staying at another hostel in Stonetown for a month, I realized that the water pressure in the bathroom here was good and the water was clean. There is also a small kitchen space in the room, so it looks suitable for a long-term stay. The staff at the restaurant is kind. I liked the time to stay here.

Wi-Fi speed, the taste of breakfast, and the air conditioning need to be improved a little, but I didn't have much inconvenience.

The hotel is right in the heart of Stone Town, an easy walk to everything you'd want to see. Breakfasts were great--lots of choices. We had two dinners in the hotel and the food was very good. My husband swam in the pool and said it was very refreshing after a day of heat and humidity.

The water in the shower wasn't hot, which made for very quick and cool showers. There was construction just outside our door--seems they're adding another section to the hotel--so it was too noisy to spend time in our room or relaxing on the chairs just outside our door, but the construction stopped at a reasonable time.
