The hotel is close to all activities within Stone Town and restaurants if you opt to want to eat outside of the hotel. It's also within walking distance to the Night Market at the harbour which is a must while you're in Stone Town. Public transport and tour guides are always available either by arrangement with the hotel or by yourself.

The Wifi at the hotel is not within range at most times, if you manage to connect you get kicked out within a few minutes. Breakfast is a buffet every morning and it may shock the system if you haven't familiarized yourself with the local food hence a visit to the night market is a MUST.

This hotel is in an amazing location - right opposite the old fort and within a minutes walk of the night markets. The room was spacious and cool- we appreciated the air conditioning, the comfortable bed and pillows and the strong, hot shower! We only stayed one night and so didn’t use the pool but it would be a fantastic place to cool off during the hot and humid days. The breakfast was simple but sufficient. We’re thankful that we could leave our bags while we explored the town before our flight.

The property was in a great location. The staff went out of the way to guide us to where we wanted to go in Old Town. They realized we had certain excursions that we needed to be on time for and they assisted us with connections, interpreting conversations and provided delicious quick breakfasts. We could order from the kitchen any time during the day. (Not sure about night) There is a beautiful roof top area with table and chairs, a pool and beautiful breeze with a view of the sunset and city. The rooms were very clean and had good air conditioning with good room service. We felt like family staying there. The front staff went overboard to help us with anything we needed from rides, to needing bottled water, always with a smile. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Abdul walked around and made sure everyone was taken care of with their specific needs. He didn’t wait to be asked - he asked us how he could help.

Breakfast was busy with guests in the mornings. But that’s a good thing really.

Great location and a lot of Stone Town can be covered from here. It has a nice heritage feel, although there are much better heritage hotels but not very accessible. The breakfast was fresh and tasty.

The price was quite high ($155 per night) for what was offered. The bathrooms need some maintenance.

The staff was excellent! They provided personal service far beyond what would have been considered appropriate . They made arrangements for transfers and tours. They made phone calls to clarify and correct excursion information. The food was very good and readily available. My room was beautiful. The bathroom was a sweet surprise. The entire facility was very clean and beautiful. Just a few minutes walk from shopping and the beach.

Forodhani is my second home in Stone Town. Competitive rates, big spacious rooms, and a nice basic breakfast to get you going. The hotel is in the best location. Across the road from Forodhani Park which is the central attraction in Stone Town for its famous night food markets. Also close to the beach. The hotel is a walking distance from the Ferry terminal. A great swimming pool on the rooftop. The staff is always great, welcoming, and considerate.

I love everything about that hotel.

Foredhani was our last and very quick stay during our holiday in Zanzibar. It is centrally located not far from the night food market and opposite the old fort. We were given a great room right next to the swimming pool which was amazing as that is why we booked this place. The reception staff are great and even arranged for us to have an early breakfast, provided free bottles of water and were helpful.

The swimming pool is rather small but clean and nice opportunity to cool down.

it’s conveniently located near the famous Forodhani park. The beds are very comfortable, the food is also amazing

Some of the staff hassle guests such that it becomes a bother. One of the staff Carlos Abdul made our stay really uncomfortable because we told him we didn’t need any guide (am thinking that’s where he gets extra money), he would make snarky remarks the two times we came down for breakfast. I would write here everything we went through with this staff but it’s not really worth it. Management should really look into that particular member of staff.

The location was great and felt safe to walk to the market at night. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast had a variety to choose from and you could make a special order.

If you want to have dinner i advice ordering way ahead of time. The day we travelled there was only 1 person available and it took 2 hours to get the food. I wish they could have told us that they do not have capacity to cater for 8 people.
