It’s a really nice please to stay, great location with proximity to the airport and town. Easy to connect to all the beach areas. The rooms were quite spacious and neat. The staff were very amazing special shout-out to Jacqueline, Nahda, Modesta, Cast and pretty much everyone at the restaurant. Amazingly beautiful view from the rooftop restaurant. Would definitely visit again.

I have a case of food poisoning at the hotel and the manager wasn’t very helpful. Whoever the manager is needs to do better. Internet wasn’t so great, kept going off at different times. Got stuck in the elevator severally cos the electricity kept going off. And there was no mirror in the room I stayed in.

The facilities and swimming pool were wonderful. The shower was beautiful and warm. The view from the rooftop restaurant was exceptional and the food was good.

The staff was a bit intrusive and overly attentive. It would've been nice to know that alcohol was not allowed since it's a Muslim chain of hotels.

Dear Management and Staff, Golden Tulips Resort, In order to avoid forgetting to mention some names, I rather thank anyone who was on duty for whatever shift from December 16, 2023 when I arrived to December 22, 2023 when I checked out. This begins with the attendants in the compound right from the gate, maintenance officers in the compound, reception officials, house keeping team on level 3, restaurant team including interns to the hotel management. I thank management for the exemplary leadership that has become viral and brought the best out of your team! I was humbled by the hospitality from all staff and their dedicated 24/7 service. Most Importantly, the attitude displayed by all staff including the interns was mind blowing. If I had to do it again, I could recommend your resort multiple times..I wish you all a happy ending of 2023 and brighter beginnings in 2024. Keep shining, keep thriving!😍😍😍

We had an exceptionally good time at the resort. Super friendly staff, impeccable restaurant service, tasty food, complimentary breakfast full of options and most importantly, a breathtaking ocean view. This resort has it all. Firstly, The staff is super friendly. Like, really really friendly and responsive. You will feel right at home the moment you set food in the lobby. Everyone makes sure your every need is attended to. Secondly, The restaurant. The food is really good, I certainly liked the menu. You can give instructions to the chef down to the spice that should be used to cook your dish. Perfection. Additionally, The rooms are truly wonderful. Where do I even begin? Spacious and modern with an ocean view. You've got walls adorned with beautiful patterns made of fine wood, beautiful paintings, comfy sofas. What's not to love here? Not to mention Wi-Fi, which was fast enough to stream 4K movies on Netflix without a hitch. Overall, this resort met our expectations down to the T. I would book this resort again in a heartbeat :)

A nitpick for a tech head like me, the TVs were a little bit small (only 32") and a bit dated (not smart TVs).

We LOVED everything!! The location is perfect for exploring stone town and the nearby beaches. The food was sumptuous, the breakfasts set the perfect tone for each day. A stand out meal was the lamb biriani. Every person must try this. The room and the views were also brilliant. The best part of the stay though will have to be the staff, they are cream of crop when it comes to customer service in Tanzania. Making you feel right at home at every turn. The nicknames they have are a brilliant touch. I would like to single out Jacqueline with her ever present smile and calmness, Musa and finally Baraka (who we believe should be called `the plug`) for always having ready answers to our numerous questions and solutions on how to better experience Zanzibar. They made our stay that much more beautiful and helped us discover more of Zanzibar.

We LOVED everything

Our stay in Golden Tulip Zanzibar Resort was awesome. Right from check in, the staff were all smiles and specifically one Baraka who was not only friendly but had a great sense of humor. The rooms were well kept and had a great seaview! The meals were very well done and the staff in the restaurant were all amazing 🤩. Got to finally meet Jacqueline 😍and yes she's got an awesome personality always finding out how the stay is and areas of improvement. Thank you for the surprises that you pulled on my birthday could never have had it any better!! We're definitely going to be back.

I stayed in the one bedroomed suite overlooking the ocean and I found it to be adequately spacious and homely. The space was exceptionally clean, all supplies were provided and what wasn't was just a phone call away. I happened to be there on a Saturday night and so got to have some of the barbecue buffet...it was delicious. The breakfast was really yummy too. On the day I was leaving, I requested and was given a take away breakfast which I found quite delightful. The staff are very professional and friendly. They went the extra mile to ensure that I was comfortable. Special credit goes to Jacqueline, Tuesday and Barak. Ebraheem and The Masai Boy were very cordial too. In all, I had a very comfortable stay at the hotel and would choose it again when I next travel to Zanzibar.

I think the hotel could do better to have the simple repairs done for instance on the window and balcony door locks. For a solo traveller, doors and windows that do not lock can be a bit scary. Even the door to my room was a bit hard to open with a key on some occasions. On my first night there was a heavy stench of serwage hanging around the hotel for several hours amd at some point it was unbearable. I called the Reception in the wee hours to find out what could be done but was told that unfortunately a neighboring establishment was having sewerage disposal done. The stench eventually went away at some point in early hours of the next day. The second night was perfect though...no complaints whatsoever.

The breakfast was excellent with a variety of options. As a South African we were able to find food that we are used to on the menu whilst we were able to try other foods. It was so beautiful to have breakfast while watching the sea and activities ( boats and people) The staff was super friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Teacher and Marvellous and rest whose names we are unable to remember. Baraka was great and very polite. So was …,Eyes . They made our stay memorable Overall it was great from the moment we stepped into the hotel until we left. Thank you to the staff at Golden Tulip Zanzibar Resort

The TV channels are very limited. Watching the news is important but when on holiday one should have an option of watching a movie. It would be great to add a movie channel.

My stay at Golden Tulip Resort can be summed up in one word - Fantabulous. Everything from start to finish was exceptional. Icing on the cake was my B'day celebration which they did with a song and dance routine and cake cutting. The room was huge with a separate sitting and dining area. Their lunge on the top floor is so colourful that you can spend hours there looking at the vast expanse of sea. The kitchen dishes out wonderful food and is 24/7. All the staff are super helpful and courteous. Breakfast is always the best part of the day and every patron during my stay seem to have enjoyed it to the fullest. The concierge desk took care of my touristy needs and arranged for a vehicle in no time for the island tour. All in all a beautiful and memorable stay.

It's within close proximity to downtown and all the activities around Stone Town and the waterfront/Fordhani Park activities. It's right off the main road and has ample parking. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and their guest service is excellent. Lunch and dinner were great and the dining experience was wonderful...at reasonable prices.The breakfast buffet choices were decent with additional options prepared if ordered. A wonderful view of the ocean and nearby islands from the dining room. The pool also gives a view of the ocean, as there's no beach on this Western side of the island. Daily housekeeping services were great. Definitely a 9/10 experience. And I love the selection of art works on the walls throughout the hotel.

The property is very nice, but can use some cosmetic upgrades inside. The balcony door needed cleaning and there's a potential risk of jumping from the balcony of one room to the next (at least from my room...but this is a construction factor beyond their control. Hopefully, they can look at this and devise a security solution against this possibility... maybe doubling the locks on the balcony doors of rooms with this possibility).
