Minel is close to everything including the T1 tram. Great breakfast.The staff are all friendly and there is a real sense of community from the neighbours from the other hotels and shops. Minel is on a little quiet backstreet complete with neighbourhood cats. Thanks Faruk for all your help

The rooms are small but manageable for two, if you are wanting more than a place to sleep do check the room size first

Great team, all members of minel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Any question we asked, any assistance we needed, they provided with a smile. Really cozy place, I mean, our room was a little bit small, and the stairs were a little steep. But I guess that's the price for the stay in the hearth of old city for a reasonable money. Other than that, everything was great. Thank you, Minel hotel team.

The spiral staircase was very unexpected

I loved the location and the staff: the hotel is not easy to find, it's in a small and narrow yard, you have to go down the steps. First time I arrived there, the taxi driver left me on the main street saying he couldn't drive closer to the hotel, so I struggled a bit trying to define the hotel's exact location, a man passing by asked whether I needed any help, then he showed me the location of the hotel. The location of the hotel is just perfect - you can just walk to many main tourist places. There are many cafes, restaurants and mini markets nearby. The personnel - Mr Faroukh and the lady who was cleaning the rooms and preparing breakfast were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily, the towels can be changed upon request. Breakfasts were very good + you can fill bottles with water from the water dispenser. I also loved that the room had a refrigerator and kettle with cups and glasses. The reception area is very cozy - I loved the art corner with books, drawings and glass crafts. The hotel is located in a quiet place - we had a comfortable sleep. As a cat person I loved the presence of beautiful cats there.

The rooms are very small. The furniture is a bit old, in general the rooms need some renovation work. The drain hole in the shower was clogged and the water got accumulated on the shower floor. Also there's no light inside the shower cabin. There were no bulbs in the wall lamps next to the bed - I informed the owner, he promised to fix the issue but unfortunately this problem was not solved during my stay. Also there's a smell constantly coming from the bathroom - I mostly kept the door closed. The stairs between the floors are a bit challenging - you should be very careful when using them.

The room view is straight towards The Topkapi Palace and the Gülhane garden. The hotel is located in the center of the old Istanbul, just between The Topkapi Palace and the Hagia Sophia Mosque. You can literally walk to each in under 5 minutes. Also, with a less than 10 minutes' walk through the beautiful Gülhane garden, you can reach the coast where The Golden Horn meets the Bosphorus strait. The Minel hotel staff were all friendly and nice. They helped us in every aspect of our travel from the moment we walked-in to the last moment. We just felt we are staying at our friends' house. They also have lots of cats which pet owners might like.

As your friends' house may have some dust under the bed or around window frames, or a few ants, this is also the case for the Minel hotel. The room refrigerator wasn't in good shape, however, in a short touristic stay you wouldn't need one.

First of all the location of the hotel is one of the best locations you will find in istanbul, in julhaneh and just one minute walking from julhaneh tram station and 5 minutes also walking to ayasophia mosque or serkci station. The hotel is simple and his manager called farouq will make you feel that you are in your home Besides the price of the room it is always one of the best prices You will find it in sultanahmet old city. Simply i advice everyone to make it his choice. Really big thanks for farouq.

Staying at this cozy hotel in Istanbul was a delightful experience. Its convenient location made exploring the city a breeze, and the welcoming staff added a personal touch to our stay. The highlight, though, was undoubtedly the delicious breakfasts served each morning. Highly recommend!

Quiet location even though in the center. Walking distance to markets, sights, restaurants, transport (tram, marmaray), etc. Hot water, good shower, warm in early spring. Responsive staff. Easy to order an airport transfer.

Really minor things. For this cheap price nothing to mention.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel, and I can rightfully say that the price and quality are the best. This is indeed a very inexpensive hotel, but clean, with snow-white linen, cozy rooms, comfortable shower, varied breakfast and in the very center, but without traffic. Colleagues are attentive and recognize us, which is very nice. Best regards to Faruk. Every year a new cat-family members are added here, which is very cute and Istanbul-like.)

Great location, friendly staff, great value, breakfast good enough.

The only mistake during our stay was that in our room one corner, and the bathroom ceiling was covered with mold. However, we told the staff, and after 5 minutes a bigger, compleatly clean room was immediatlely given to us.

The location was just behind the corner from Ayia Sofia. Tram station is 5 minutes walk. Very cosy deadend street, small hotel, designed with my favorite colors, small room but very ergonomic and has everything you can need. A little old one, but not so principal with all these advantages and for that very good price! But the most important thing is the host Faruk, he is so sweet, from the moment of booking, he confirmed it in message also, offered transfer from the airport with video instruction how to find the driver in the airport, met us during the night, and during our stay helped with everything that we needed.
