the location itself is good, in the center and easy to get everywhere. the problem of the location is that no taxi can find the place. when we arrived , at night , the taxi took us around for 1.5!!! hours and in the end wanted to drop us to find the hotel alone, walking with all the luggage, without knowing anything around. i forced him twice to call the hotel and in the end he found it. the breakfast is bad. only if you ask for regular or special staff , than the breakfast is ok. with a hotel this size, not to have at least a basic buffet it is a shame

Location Location Location. We chose a superior room and were looking directly out to the historic Hagia Sophia Mosque and the hotel is amid the most important historic monuments from the Ottoman and Byzantine period. The narrow road outside is quiet and traffic free, one way is to an ancient and exclusive eating and drinking byway and the other direction to all the biz. The surround glazed breakfast lounge overlooks the domed roofs of an ancient Ottoman courtyard and beneath the modern Ottoman influenced decor and en-suite bathrooms, the hotel itself has an ancient base. We loved it.

It was truly intriguing and atmospheric but you did have to get used to the Muezzin calling the faithful to prayer at 5am over loud speaker just outside your window. Lovely singing repeated throughout the day but we jumped out our skins on the first few occasions.

location,location, location! the staff was also very attentive and friendly. they made our stay super comfortable. the bed we got was amazing and much appreciated after walking so many miles a day, resting in a comfortable bed was priceless.

Rooms are small compared to average. something to consider if you’re staying more than 4-5 days.

Location and staff are the strong positives. The facilities were clean for the most part but some of the carpets need replacing. A lot of the furniture is showing its age with dings and scuff marks. The restaurant in the hotel was very good with a large selection well-prepared. Restaurant staff is excellent. All of us were please with the dinner we had there.

Breakfast was a real disappointment. Used to be a diverse buffet but now a rather sad group of things on a plastic covered plate. The coffee machine seems old and unreliable. Basins for scraping food from plates was located next to plates with bread. Really bad form!

Location is excellent - right in the center in close to so many interesting places. Staff is excellent and doing everything they can to serve with friendliness and professionalism. The room safe worked perfectly. Everything is clean.

Breakfast is a really disappointment. I last stayed here 3 years ago and the breakfast with a diverse buffet. Now we received a rather sad plate of things under cellophane. Not appetizing. The coffee machine looks old and works badly. Some of the carpets look like they need to be replaced. Taxis cannot access the hotel entrance so it's necessary to take bags to and from a point down the street and around the corner. Not a very comfortable way to start or end a trip - hotel staff does the heavy lifting of bags for this, however.

Not approachable for taxis. need to leave taxis about 800 yards away from the hotel.

The hotel really helped to make our family stay at the hotel a very special one with a complimentary upgrade to my cousins room for their birthday. The breakfast was enough for most and everything was brought to our table for us, they also made sure our extended family was seated together with us all on one table every morning. Reception staff arranged a minibus transfer back to the airport at the last minute which was a big help. The location was perfectly situated right where we wanted to be for easy access to the local sights. All staff were kind, courteous and respectful.

Maybe a little more variety for breakfast. looking on previous pictures by customers there seemed to be sausages and other options on the menu, when I asked about this at breakfast, I was informed the variety on offer would be based on the number of customers at the hotel at the time, so the breakfast menu would be seasonal according to customer numbers.

Excellent location, we were able to visit all the sites in foot. Very nice quiet location, no traffic hassles as cars are not permitted on this street. Very close to tram station.

Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast buffet is simple, not extensive and same everyday. No variety so if staying for extended periods, it may not be enjoyable.

You are literally next to Hagia Sophia, comfortable to get around with Tram stop 4 minutes walk and lots of food options. The Matbar has good Turkish food albeit pricy, given the location. We enjoyed our trip along with the kids who could get Turkish ice cream with two minutes walk.

No elevators, they carried the luggage however.
