Ive stayed in Side Hotel for 7 days, location is in the center of historical places of Istanbul, Hotel’s staff was very nice and kind to me, helped me with finding places for eating, sightseeing, shopping, with ordering foods etc. Especially I would like to mention some staff people’s names: the first is Emre was the first receptionist who greeted me, showed his great hospitality to me, told me everything about hotel rules and İstanbul, the second is Yunus Emre, this staff member who is very polite to everybody and always seeking the way to help with everything, you can absolutely count on him, because he is very responsible for his deeds and grateful person indeed, the third one is young joyful and funny member Mansur, who always finds a theme to talk about, he is very positive and pleasant man Ive ever met, as a guest I can say that he treated me like his brother with huge respect and generosity, and finally I would like to thank cooking, cleaning staff for giving me a good breakfast every day and keeping my room very clean and neatly. Absolutely wonderful stay! It was very good value for money. The staff were absolutely wonderful--when I came in dehydrated and swamped from the heat, I was given water and some cookies to recover and we were always greeted with kindness when we came in! The room was a good size. There aren't many pillows in the room, but if you ask the staff they will give some. The breakfast is pretty good! Pretty basic in selection but sufficient for a start to the day. Mattresses are on the firm side but was able to sleep fine. Shower was very good! The location is perfect! Right near the Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia and all the popular attractions. The windows are double glazed but you will still hear the call to prayer, but it didn't really bother us. I definitely plan to recommend this place to anyone who asks!

We booked this accomodation at 11PM after a bad experience in another hotel. We were super tired and dissapointed, but when we arrived at Side hotel, it all changed. The receptionist Emre welcomed us, comforted us after our bad experience, offered coffee, tea and made very good impression. Our room was perfect. It was a bit small with a balcony, but very comfortable. Bathroom was renovated, very modern, better than in the pictures. Cleaning was perfect. Super clean. Cleaning lady was cleaning our room daily, changing towels and making bed. The area is located right next to Hagia Sofia. We felt very safe. We appreciated good wi-fi signal and nice rooftop terrace. I will keep staying in this hotel once I come back to Istanbul.

The breakfast was a bit low quality, but for this price, we rather see it as a benefit, and we appreciated warm tea and snacks available at breakfast. As Sultanahmed is a religious area, the calling for prayer early in the morning was very loud. As we stayed in Sultanahmed, it is understandable, however if you don’t want to wake up at 4:30AM for prayer, I reccomend earplugs (earplugs fixed it).

The hotel is extremely well located for visits to Haghia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapı and the surrounding Sultanahmet area. The rooms and hotel are clean and pleasant, with a personality. There is a rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of Istanbul, where it is possible to take breakfast (but beware the seagulls). Breakfast is good and varied. The staff were nice and honest. This is one place in the "ultra-center" where as a tourist I didn't feel taken advantage of. Given the high prices in Istanbul recently, this hotel is very good value. I will come back!

No serious problem that I can remember. The room was small, but more than enough for me since I travelled alone this time. Not enough drawers to put stuff in. Stairs! I am not sure that there is an elevator, then again, not a problem for me.

Side hotel is in an amazing location, and from the first moment we we’re really made welcome by the reception staff, they were fabulous. We were so well looked after the. We felt like we had new friend when we left, they gave great advice and nothing was too much effort for them, booking taxis, chasing up the Istanbul city travel card we had ordered and being really (politely, not overstepping) interested in what we were doing and where we were going.

The step up in to the shower is high and the mattresses could do with a good foam topper, but these things are personal preference.

Hotel in a brilliant location. It's round the corner from Aya Sofia and close to other historical sites too. The room itself was spacious and the bathroom was clean. Air con worked perfectly and the cleaner did an excellent job on a daily basis. Breakfast itself is quite basic - this was expected and has been previously stated in another review but it is still more than enough to start the day with. Catering staff were catered well and had breakfast out on time. There's also free tea and coffee available in the hotel 24/7. In addition, there is a travel agent next to the hotel if one wants to book excursions etc. Regarding the 'receptionists', they were very helpful and polite...except Mansour (apologies, unsure if name spelling is correct lol) because he was very sarcastic! Joke lol Truth is, both Mansour and Emre (night shift) were brilliant to have a conversation with and I learnt many things from them so thank you.

There was an in-built washer fixed to the toilet which didn't hit the spots...an empty bottle was used but the cleaner kept throwing it away... Good job the weather was warm and many water bottles were used lolol

The location is excellent. Walking distance to many attractions. The hotel is comfy and charming. There is no elevator but the staffed handled all the heavy lifting. The staff was excellent; friendly and helpful, couldn't ask for better customer service. Very nice terrace and rooftop views of the neighborhood. Decent breakfast, enough to get our day started. Our room for 3 was a good size. Really no major complications here, I would stay again.

Beds were harder than I'm used to. Two people had to sleep in one full sized bed, doable but tight.

The location is great, everything is close by and you can walk everywhere. It’s very clean. The breakfast is ok, but it could be better. (No warm food, no decent free coffee, but you can get a decent coffee for 50 turkish lira = 1.3 euro). The staff is great. The rooms/bathrooms are ok, but old. We stayed in a triple room and maybe thats why it was ok, because we were only 2. Very quiet area.

The fact that you had to pay extra for a decent coffee or omlete for breakfast. I do not see why … just add 10 more euro for the room price and be done with it. Old rooms and bathrooms, no iron in the room, very poor soundproof.

The location of the hotel is amazing - it's very close to the main attractions (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern), as well as close to a tram station with good connections (this is the main public transport we used). There are plenty of restaurants around as well, and from the rooftop you have a nice view of the surroundings. The location also means you can clearly hear the call to prayer in the morning - which we liked - but good to know if you are a light sleeper. The staff is very friendly & helpful, they arranged the private transfer from & to the airport and that went great, the cars were comfortable & they arrived on time (it's especially useful if you have a few luggages or travelling with older people/kids). The room was clean, a good size & the bed was comfortable - it was great after a day full of walking around Istanbul. The breakfast was simple, but good and more than enough to be ready for a day of exploring. Overall we really liked it there, it was a great value for money, great location - we would definitely return for our next Istanbul trip.

While these things were ok for us, thought it's worth mentioning: - Breakfast starts at 8:30, and as most tours start around 9:00, we had to eat in ~15min or skip it entirely. If it started from 8:00 it would make a big difference. The standard breakfast also has no warm food, you need to request & pay extra if you want for example an omelette (or a nicer coffee than the one included). - There's no elevator - however when we arrived the man at reception helped us take the luggages upstairs, so that was no problem. - One of the rooms we booked was facing the back, and it was consistently smelling like food from the outside - so the window could not really be opened.

Excellent location - very close to Hafgia Sofia/ blue mosque/ topkappi palace—( turn right then Left and then right for Hagia sophia and topkappi palace, turn right , left and then left for blue mosque/ also 15 mins walk to grand bazar) Very helpful staff , friendly Comfortable rooms with good air conditioning

No elevators so if travelling with elderly - need to request ground floor rooms - breakfast served on Terrace - staff was very helpful and provided breakfast in the room on ground floor for elderly parent. Fridge in some of the rooms was not working but it didn’t really affect our trip of 10 of us. Small rear rooms - front rooms are bigger
