Pleasant modern hotel with cheerful contemporary decor and very helpful staff.

Very little not to like- although the sofas in reception seem to be from a vastly inferior establishment- where silvered plastic and marbled velour is the style. Thankfully this turned out to be an uncharacteristic lapse in taste within a building that is otherwise well designed and comfortable. When we saw them we all privately thought ‘oh no’- but, as I say this taste blip was restricted to these two, strange, objects. The hotel was otherwise tasteful, clean and very comfortable.

We were only staying for 1 night as our son was playing rugby in Troon. The hotel is lovely, gardens well maintained. Staff lovely. Rooms were a great size and bed very comfortable. Great sized TV on the wall. We had dinner, bed and breakfast and the food was great.

The only downside I would say is its a fair walk to Prestwick or Ayr as it sits between the two. Very good bus service. We walked to Prestwick, it took 20mins and we bused back.

Great location, beautiful building design, very clean inside and out. Logan’s restaurant is very inviting. Love the fire pit in the restaurant. Beautiful outdoor space with the lighting. Rooms are very cosy and extremely comfortable bed, lovely seats in the room. Bathroom is very neat and tidy. Staff were all very welcoming and helpful.

Tv wasn’t working properly, whether that be terrestrial or streaming. internet not connected to tv and a lot of channels not showing. Creaky floor boards at various spots throughout the hotel including the room we stayed in, could be quite annoying at times.

Room, food, friendly, helpful, cleanliness, location. On arrival the room size wasn’t as booked, was a lot smaller. Staff were helpful to find a solution. Food & drinks excelllent.

Breakfast was delicious, pleasant staff and quick service also. Room was very comfortable and clean - bed was so comfy! Br staff very friendly and nice also. All in all a nice last minute overnight for us.

There was a wedding on which meant their were a lot of drunk guests around, where they were quite noisy, they were pleasant and chatty just a bit loud. No major issues to report though.

Service was excellent, food was very good. Lovely breakfast and dinner choice of menu was excellent. The rooms were clean and the shower was one of the best we have experienced. Would definitely stay again.

The check in was quite quick, we don’t get told what the Wi-Fi password was or where breakfast was being served. The room was a little small but fine for just 1 night, Other than the the room was spotlessly clean.

The Carlton is one of our 'go to' hotels for DB&B deals. An hour from Glasgow, it sits at the far end of Prestwick's main street. We have always found the staff attentive and helpful. The food, at the price they charge, is excellent. The rooms are well maintained and have a similar vibe to the Dakota chain, albeit at a fracton of the cost.

The room was clean, good powerful shower which I appreciated. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Restaurat was really nice

On another night I may have given it a 10, however they had a big Xmas party on, which meant we had to park further away from the hotel as the car park was full and get a taxi to the hotel. Also the party was quite noisy and we were to up up at 4am for a flight which wasn't ideal

Room very well presented, very comfortable bed, breakfast had a good choice and cooed to order, dinner good

Was offered a set two or three course dinner in advance of stay, only to be told when I asked for the menu that it was not offered after 6 pm, so offer was not correct, when on business you do not normally eat until after 6pm

Brilliant hotel staff were amazing and the food was excellent always piping hot and fresh.Thr hotel was packed with a golf party a wedding reception and a tribute night what a wonderful hotel I wished that I could have stayed longer. Buffet style breakfast was amazing and the staff were so helpful with room service as my partner was alittle under the weather couldn't have asked for any better experience with this hotel as its my 6th time going there 😀

My room was far to warm but only because of the security windows in place. Alot of the rooms will be getting an upgrade in the quieter months I don't know when that will be as this wee gem of a hotel is always fully booked so other than that no complaints whatsoever.
