The hotel had a very good atmosphere with an excellent restaurant which offered a 30 per cent discount on dinner food for the month of June. We took advantage of this deal for the entire period of our stay which saved searching for supper in town which was less than acceptable. The location was great with direct access to the sandy beach in Ayr via a very large greensward

Our room on the second floor was quite large but with just a small window which did not open very much looking out over the roofline of the hotel. We found that for a seven night stay the storage of clothing was not sufficient so luggage was left in the suitcases . The floor in the room was very rickety so noisy at night time.

quiet hotel, easy parking, beds very comfortable, room clean, bathroom nice with Arran Scottish toiletries, lovely housekeeping staff, nothing was to much trouble for them. breakfast buffet nice, beautiful location, restaurant outside seating glorious, meals in restaurant were good (but not great fish choice), however prawn cocktail was superb.

hotel a bit dark inside, lift shaft noise heard in bedroom early morning, breakfast not very hot, (I think hot breakfast must all be made in advance) menu for dinner was limited, poor fish choices, only fish and chips left, On seafront location, you expect a few fish more dishes on the menu.

We were hugely surprised by how lovely this hotel was. We like it enough to book it but it exceeded any expectations we had. The room was much bigger than expected - the bed was super comfy and the shower! It was a brilliant shower! The room also had a large television which was perfect for relaxing on the first night and hooking up to the laptop to get work done in the day as a second screen. The breakfast and dinner I ate in the hotel was outstanding, the quality of food was fantastic and the service was first class from all staff. Amanda on reception went above and beyond to help us during our stay, and I appreciated being able to coordinate a late check-out.

Nothing, everything was brilliant.

Clean spacious comfortable room. Great location to enjoy Ayrshire. Very good restaurant. Good value for money. Lovely breakfast. I hate when breakfast plates are jammed full. Very daunting when you wouldn’t normally have a cooked breakfast. The portions were very just right. Fantastic bathroom. A whole family could fit in the bath.

Lumpy pillows. They really spoilt my night sleep. As well as the room I was in. Described as family room on line. Which wasn’t the room I viewed, was troubled by a constant hum of what I think was a boiler.

spacious bedroom - serviced daily, well arranged restaurant overlooking large green and sea front, plenty of seating areas within the hotel. Staff - very welcoming. Excellent choice of menu for both breakfast and dinner.

The bathroom was lacking a large shelf for toiletries. Great shower, BUT shower tray needs to be deeper, as water soon overspilled onto bathroom floor. The bedroom would benefit from a coffee table for in front of the sofa.

Very good choice of breakfast. The room was very spacious and the view was lovely. Made to feel very welcome by all staff who seemed to care about our comfort and were please when we said that we hoped to return. The leisure suite was an added bonus/

Some of the areas and especially the leisure suite needed spruced up, but considering the hotel has recently changed hands, I would imagine that it will not be long before this is attended to. I would have loved it if a mini fridge had been available in the room - just a thought!

This is a very nice hotel on the seafront, close enough to walk into town for restaurants, shops etc. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The staff we had contact with were very nice. We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on the food. We watched the sun set over Arran from the bar which was really pretty.

It was a warm day when we stayed and the room was in full sun which made it quite hot. The bathroom radiator doesn't have a valve so we couldn't switch it off.

Hotel is in a fantastic location and rooms are finished to a high standard. The best hotel in Ayr by far. Staff are friendly and helpful, the domestic staff were especially lovely. The leisure facilities were a plus as well.

The mattresses were too hard, however that's a personal preference. Would have preferred softer. The WiFi didn't work, but was advertised as super fast. I did make staff aware of this however the problem wasn't sorted. It would be nice to see smart tvs in the hotel rooms that enable fire sticks as well, as people these days use a lot of apps such as YouTube and Netflix. Also it would be better for the kids. The menu was very limited and I feel there could be much more of a variety. There was a wide array of things for breakfast buffet however breakfast was overdone.

We use this hotel as a stopover enroute from Edinburgh to the ferry at Cairnryan. We find it ideal for this purpose and our room had a seaview. The food and atmosphere are excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful

This is a period building so be aware that if you have mobility issues you may find access to the upper floor challenging. The fire doors at the top of the stairs are awkward if you are carrying suitcases but I am sure assistance would be available if requested.
