The room at Miller House Courtyard was small but newly appointed, clean, comfortable and quiet. John was out there to greet us just about every time we went into the courtyard. We had parking right outside our room and felt very comfortable about the safety of the car because it was in an enclosed court. It was just a short walk to good food, the beach and the harbor.

There wasn't really anything not to like. The room was small but that tiny inconvenience was far outweighed by the other lovely features of our stay.

Our room was really nice, clean and comfortable. Bed was big and very comfortable and the shower was great. It was in a good location for us to catch the ferry from Ardrossan to Isle of Arran. We arrived really late in the evening and left early in the morning but the hosts, John & Denise, left the key in the room for us and checked us in over the phone and John even came out to wave us off when we left the next morning. We will be looking to book a night here again in August when we head back to Arran :)

Getting a call from the owner in the afternoon to check what time we would be arriving was a lovely touch and made our welcome seem even warmer when we arrived. When we arrived nothing seemed too much trouble and even offered suggestions for places to eat and also directions to the venue we were attending for a party. The room itself was very clean and homely and very modern. The bed was HUGE and extremely comfortable. Shower in the morning was very powerful and very cosy. The heat in the room was perfect on arrival and we were even told how to make adjustments if needed. Free wifi was a great added bonus and also tea/coffee making facilities were a nice touch.

Nothing, the stay was perfect.

We are returning travellers to Miller House. We travel to UK from Australia to visit family and having stayed at Miller House 4 times in the past 10 years we love it. John and his wife are so welcoming and always available if you have questions, or need anything. It's a real family run business, but the great part is you don't feel as if you are staying in someone's house - because the rooms are separate from the main house. We LOVE it and look forward to our next trip.

Our holiday wasn't long enough!

A very humble and private guest house. The accomodation is just the right size for a short visit to Ayr. Has everything you need in a small space, including a kettle, TV, wardrobe and more. Very generous sized shower and bathroom. It was spotless when we arrived and everything was very clean. The accomodation is very tastefully decorated and the hosts were very polite and helpful. It's within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants and beach but away from the hustle and bustle of the town. You can really tell the owners take great pride in making your stay as pleasant as possible because of the attention to detail. Thanks so much!

The unit was small but very well laid out and well decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bathroom and shower were of a good size. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and directed us to a nearby hotel for an evening meal and then suggested a number of spots to visit on our way south. Can highly recommend this property.

Room a bit cold although heating on. Weather very cold at time of visit. Non slip mat in shower would be helpful as very slippery. Mirror by sink would be advantageous. Wet shavers have to cross room to mirror.

I live locally but decided to book a stay here on a recent night out to save hanging around in the cold waiting for a taxi. What a great decision that was. John welcomed us on arrival and showed us to our room and went over it’s features and was about to tell us what services/amenities were available (obv we didn’t need it) but I thought what a great thing to do for guests. Room was fantastic and above our expectations. Super clean and comfortable and very new and modern & was toasty warm on a cold Jan night. Main reason for booking here was it’s completely self contained with own entrance so no disturbing anyone as my husband is a smoker and often popping out. Car is literally securely parked at the door so no lugging bags far or upstairs. It’s like having your own place in the town centre ready waiting for you. Perfect location as it’s 5/10 min walk in each direction to main parts of town. For visitors to the area there’s bars, restaurants, bowling all in same street or odeon cinema, train station and a plethora of shops bars and restaurants at the other end of the street. Less than 5 min walk to beach too. 5/10 mins will take you to the theatre and main shopping centres. Staying here you wouldn’t need a car and could literally walk everywhere faster than you could drive and park. Reading other reviews annoys me of the bad points, yes it’s small but how much space do you need on a hotel stay? There’s more than ample storage, USB ports, tea/coffee, towels, hairdryer, tv, Wi-fi (didn’t use so can’t comment), plenty seating, dressing table, plenty mirrors, decent sized bathroom with hanging space on door, good thick blackout curtains, TRV on radiator to regulate your heating. There’s literally nothing that this room doesn’t have, all contained in a relatively smallish but perfectly usable space, and I’m pretty sure anything you can find that it doesn’t have the owners would only be too happy to provide it for you.

There is nothing we didn’t like and I commend you for your excellence in the comfort and cleanliness that you provide. We stay all over and can honestly say this is the first 10 across the board I have ever provided. If I had to give a suggestion it would maybe be to have a couple of extra fat pillows. The two each provided were perfectly ample for sleeping but a couple of big bulky extras would have been perfect for propping up whilst relaxing watching TV in bed. Other than that the place is genuinely faultless and keep up the good work, your place is fab and we love it

Room was spacious with its own private entrance & a great super king-size bed. Spotlessly clean, with nice bedlinen & soft furnishings. Central location with private parking space. Host John was welcoming & friendly. Would definitely book again.

Liked everything, if I was to nitpick, electric shower was a little bit weak & bath towels a tad on the small side.
