I like the atmosphere and the location. I like that it's a pub and not a hotel. Breakfast is great as well and it's always served cheerily. Bathrooms have flannels and individual bottles for shower gel and shampoo unlike most hotels which have gone over to large pump action dispensers which jam and/or are a faff to use. Bed rooms have tea and coffee making stuff and biscuits!
Most of the rooms only have stools I.e. no chairs with a back on them. So working at the desk (those that have a desk that is) is difficult. Parking is limited.

This small hotel has lovely decor, is a real ale bar, and is in the old town part of Kenilworth, with the castle and abbey grounds easy walking distance. Breakfast was very good, and I had booked a basic room (No. 3) but the size was perfectly adequate, shower powerful, manager and staff were friendly. I had thought the noise from the bar may get to the room, but I was wrong - we had a very peaceful night. To note, the parking was accessed from Fancott Drive at the back of the hotel. We ate at the Abbey Fields by Chef and Brewer, almost next door, which was good.
Can't think of anything.

The breakfast was very good. Unusually for me I had a cooked breakfast (full English) and the poached eggs were very nicely done, the bacon was thick and not surrounded by white residue (it was good quality). Breakfast was served in the bar which, at 08.00, did not smell of ale. Well done on that point. Cleanliness was excellent. The bar must be commented on. A decent choice of cask ales, all well kept and served with a head on. The bar was very busy so that tells you a lot.
The room was very comfortable and I slept well but don't take a cat as you won't be able to swing it.

Lovely old world charm with tastefully decorated and comfortable rooms. Good value for money and very clean.
The shower in the king size room was a little dated, but this didn’t spoil the stay in anyway. The pine furniture needs replacing or refinishing but, again, this is a minor detail that didn’t impact the quality of the stay. The vegetarian breakfast was disappointing- vegan/vegetarian sausages would have been nice. In addition, there was no alternative to cows milk - oat or almond milk would have been welcomed!

This was such a fabulous hotel for a reunion of 9 of us 'mature' ex-colleagues. Set in Kenilworth old town the property was highly characterful, clean and comfortable hotel. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The Old Bakery is very popular with locals and the pub was buzzing every evening - though it's not in the least bit raucous and the staff are very hot on managing closing time promptly and efficiently, so local and hotel residents are not disturbed. There is a lovely, well-tended courtyard area at the rear. Though they don't do meals during the day or evening, a lovely selection of hot and cold breakfast foods are available to choose from.

Breakfast was very good. Typically, breakfast is served from 08:00, but we needed to have it earlier as we had to be at Warwick University that morning for 09:00. We pre-arranged an early breakfast, which was a great help. Breakfast was served quickly, and we all enjoyed what we ordered, so a big thumbs-up there. The location is great, and we were able to park on-site, although the car park is quite small. Although they don't serve evening meals - the breakfast room is actually the pub, so it's dual purpose, and because it's small & cosy there wouldn't be sufficient room for diners and drinkers. On the plus side, the staff were able to recommend nearby restaurants, of which there are a good selection of quality independent ones. Kenilworth is a lovely town and very picturesque with it's man thatched cottages, and it felt like a very safe place to be - perfect for families and older couples.
The bed was a small double, so it felt a little small for my wife & I. The mattress was comfortable, but the pillow could have been better. That said, I was very tired and did have a good night sleep. To be honest, there's nothing to complain about, and we really enjoyed our stay.

A lovely place to stay. A little tired, but would 100% stay again. Breakfast was delicious. Shared room 15, twin/family. A double and single bed were provided with plenty of space in the room. It was quiet and peaceful
The bathroom was a little tired and could do with a better shower cubicle, the windows need a paint.

The room and en-suite were small but well maintained, clean and comfortable. I've stayed in a few pub rooms in old buildings of historic towns and this was a good one. Breakfast was excellent.
A bit disappointed that the pub does not do food, when I got the impression from their web site that it did. True the web site said they were not currently doing food due to Covid but 15 months after the end of all lockdown restrictions I assumed this was just another out of date Covid notice. However the lovely lady who booked us in pointed us to the Harrington, a 5 minute walk away, which was perfect.

Breakfast was excellent as always . We were informed when we arrived on the Friday that breakfast wouldnt start until 9.00 am on the Sat morning instead of 8.00. This wasnt going to work with our plans as we had to be away earlier than that . We were told to come down for 8.30 and they would sort something out for us which they did. Problem solved without any drama . The staff are always so helpful and friendly . We have stayed here twice now when our son has competed at Warwick Uni (Hes a para-athlete) . Its one of those little Gems you find every once and a while .
To be fair there isnt really anything we didnt like . Parking can be an issue although there is quite a large carpark nearby. In front of the Bakery is a very busy bustling little street which is mainly due to the place being so popular. We have always been lucky though and got a space. The rooms dont have a huge amount of power sockets which becomes a battle if three of you all want phones charged etc . Trivial things really.

Great location , fabulous bar/ breakfast area
Would have been fab to have had some cakes etc on sale given the name. Also breakfast was limited & a bit disappointing. No fresh coffee options for example, croissants etc. Wish they did a cheese board or charcuterie in the evening we would have stayed with them to eat.
