Nice little pub with comfortable accommodation. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the restaurant food was good.

On arrival the staff were “thin on the ground” and this impacted waiting times to check in and later when trying to pay our bill in the restaurant. In the morning I discovered that the tap on the shower was stuck which meant our water was stuck at a temperature that was virtually boiling hot, I reported this to reception when we checked out. Parking although useful is pretty tight, not for the faint hearted!

Stayed with family (double room and family room) and enjoyed our stay. We were able to check in early which was appreciated and the staff were all very nice. We didn't have breakfast or dinner due to other plans but the pub part of the hotel was nice. The double room was clean and comfortable, a little hot (but it was a hot day and a fan did help). The family room on the ground floor was very spacious and quiet. The location of the hotel is perfect, overlooking the church and Abbey Fields and we would all stay again.

Other than aircon (well nigh impossible in an old building), can't think of anything.

Good, comfortable accommodation with excellent shower, large towels, radistors for heating if required. Restaurant on premises is big advantage. Location perfect for the Castle, Abbey and beautiful historic Church of St. Nicholas. Plenty of good "non-chain" cafes in walking distance, as is main town centre.

No doubt that the very pleasant, willing and hard-working staff struggled because they were short-staffed. Hopefully this can be improved as we would really like to come again on another occasion, and to recommend to friends and relatives.

It is very well appointed in a historic town and very quirky historic building . The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay although not that large . There is no lift and would struggle with more luggage as there were numerous stairs . However, not a problem for us . Staff were very friendly .

Only complaints are that the shower curtain smelled very damp and stale and I had to tuck it out of the way as it was unpleasant . Also there seemed to be a shortage of staff at check in . Staff were chatting a bit noisily outside our room when clearing rubbish etc quite late at night . Perhaps a little more thought .

This is a lovely hotel, bar and restaurant situated at the end of the High Street in Old Kenilworth (the old part stretching from the castle to the church and abbey ruins-hence the name). There are car parking facilities at the back. Staff are very friendly. Special mention of Nathan, Dylan and Amy the chef. If you stay on a Sunday they do a great Sunday roast (rib of beef excellent). Very good value for money.

The hotel is old and a bit labyrinthine so not sure how suitable it would be for disabled people

The bed and pillows were comfy, bar/restaurant/lounge areas were satisfactory (though we did not eat there). Good to have an onsite car park, though it's quite narrow and the spaces are limited (we had no problem finding a space each night, but only just).

Our ground floor room (room 1) was adjacent to a corridor where we were awoken by staff banging doors early in the morning and we were treated to a builder's mobile phone conversation through the thin wall. Also, on our second night, in the bar (around 10.00 pm) a group of loud drunken men (friends of the barman, it appeared) shouting and swearing (apparently also waiting for a takeaway they had ordered — is that allowed?) oblivious to anyone else's presence. Obviously, we left — no quiet corner was available to avoid them. It was a very unpleasant experience, not least because the barman was apparently unconcerned. It wasn't obvious how to change the temperature in the room (mind you, we could have asked).

Check in was easy, I arrived around 9:45pm so someone at the bar checked me in. My room was lovely, great for a solo traveller. It was small but that didn't bother me as everything I needed was there. Check out was easy and breakfast was really tasty.

Like some of the other reviews have mentioned, it was quite hot, even with the fan. I expected that though as it's an old building and the room is in the middle. The carpark wasn't obvious but I had messaged prior to arriving and asked for detailed instructions. None of these are major and I would visit again.

While my mum was in a nursing home in Kenilworth, after I sold the house, I stayed at four different hotels & an apartment in Kenilworth but The Abbeyfield was my definite favourite. Ticks all the boxes. Lovely location, interesting old building, on a bus route. The rooms are clean, functional & tastefully decorated. Great breakfast. Spacious dining room. Big choice on the cooked menu & on the buffet to help yourself to. There’s a pub too. The Mushroom & Ale Pie with chips, veg & gravy is delicious. And a very good Chinese takeaway next door & post office/ general store over the road. And beyond all this the highlights are the bathroom lights come on as you approach the door, very useful, and such friendly, efficient staff. I’ve finished with Kenilworth now as my mum died last week but for a time I felt as at home as I could at The Abbeyfield.

The hotel location is great, is the heart of old Kenilworth. Lots of old pubs around and a only a few minutes from the big park. Breakfast is great, English breakfast cook to perfection. Other options are very good as well. Great quality products. The breakfast room is a restaurant at night.

My sister and dad stayed, and the first room given was very small. They tried to be moved to a better room, and the manager was very helpful and did his best. Also the hotel need a bit of makeover, like painting the walls.

Location for me was good just 10 minutes from the Show Ground, l had chosen a single room so l new it would be small, but it had everything l needed for my stay, shower, bath, water was lovely and hot Breakfast was included and the choice was amazing. Everything was very clean would definitely stay again when lam next up to the Show ground. Added bonus was having on site parking just remember to enter your registration number into the tablet on the bar.

Nothing to dislike lt had everything l needed for my stay.
