An excellent hotel in a great location, we thought it was going to be good when we booked it, but it was even better when we stayed there. The executive room was a great size, lovely bathroom with a large walk in shower. The room was furnished lovely, with a comfortable bed and a nice seating area outside. The all staff where really nice and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The bar and restaurant was great and the seating area out side was brilliant, we really enjoyed having some drinks sat outside on the evening watching the sun go down together. The hotel is listed as a 3 star but I would say it was more of a 4 star at least. Thanks guys we really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly would stay again.

Breakfasts were very good. I cannot comment on any other meals because the purpose of our visit was to celebrate a 90th birthday and to spend the two days with our friends. However, I have no doubt we would have been very pleased with dinner if we had been free to eat at the hotel. The gardens were lovely too. There was a wedding on the Saturday but at the time of booking I was informed of this, and we were provided with a room in The Stables which was situated well away from the evening disco. We were not disturbed by this at all and heard absolutely nothing.

We loved everything but would have liked it even more if there had been a small fridge in the room, particularly as it was very hot on the day we arrived.

The location for Lego land was amazing, just a couple of minutes up the road. The hotel grounds were beautiful and the rooms were very clean. Loved the addition of a little activity pack left on my daughter's bed. She felt very special. Food in the evening was delicious and so was breakfast. My room overlooked the garden which was just wonderful. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

The only thing I didn't like was the pillows, but that's just me being picky.

Lovely hotel, we had a very clean and very comfortable room on the first floor overlooking the garden. We had an amazing meal in the restaurant in the evening. The quality of the food was exquisite and the waiters were super friendly.

Breakfast - overpriced at £15 a head for a full English, buffet style breakfast with only scrambled eggs; all kept warm on hot plates. We were not informed by the waitress that there was an option to have something else cooked fresh instead. There is no bread available to help yourself to with the continental breakfast except on request.

I have been staying at The Stirrups for many years and it is great to see the high standards they have developed continue to be upheld. I find the food does vary from trip to trip but the kitchen was on form this time.

Blue gingham shirts have been introduced as part of a new hospitality uniform to replace the traditional black and white. Part of The Stirrups success is its ability to reflect the values of a family run business. The new uniforms create too corporate an image. The staff members I spoke to also had their reservations. You are The Stirrups not a restaurant chain.

It was easy to find. It was easy to park. On arrival, we were treated professionally by the staff from start to finish. I was glad I reserved the cabana because the evening was beautiful. The staff made us feel welcome at all times. Even though there was an event going on, we weren't treated differently. The waiter we had explained everything we needed to know within or time in the cabana. Overall, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, it was professionally run and me and my wife would highly recommend it to anyone.

Nothing at all

Good sized family room and lovely little extras like bottles of water and an activity pack for our son. Air con helped to keep us cool at night. Food was very good as well. All staff were friendly and helpful. Great location for heading to Legoland - only a few minutes drive away!

It would have been great to have a mini fridge in our room just for helping to store food for our baby and keep drinks cold etc. On the first night there was a wedding at the hotel so we could hear the base of the music until midnight. However, the hotel did contact us before our booking to tell us about the event and say that they had try to put us in a room where we would be least disturbed, which I genuinely think they did. We took the risk for the price and location, the kids slept through it all and there was no noise in the corridor afterwards so I don’t think staff could have done anything more to help us. It was just luck of the draw on the date we picked.

I asked for a specific room due to my disability on 2nd floor, and they got back to me really quickly to say they'd noted it down and it was no problem, which most places don't do-when I got there, I'd been put on 1st floor, but the woman was very kind and switched me to the 2nd floor, which really helped me, and they had upgraded me to a suite to my surprise, which was really lovely. They offered to help me with my luggage, which was really kind, but I declined just because it was £30,000 worth of sound equipment, and for insurance reasons, only I can carry it, but they are there to help you no problem if you need it. They had a lift, which was so helpful, otherwise I would be dead with my luggage. The room was lovely, all completely clean, there was air conditioning which helped me sleep for the first time in 3/4 days as the weather was like 35 degrees, the bath was nice, free still water bottles, so clean, no webs or bed issues or anything, the hallways were nice, and the room I had was at the end of a corridor, so it made me feel really safe and calm to sleep. I would definetly stay there again, in that specific room. Free parking, 70p blackcurrant cordial which was nice, I had to set up my sound equipment, and by the time I'd finished, it was 9pm, so I missed the chance to get food, but the salmon nicoise sounded nice, so I drove to Sainburys, which was 10 minutes away, to get some strawberries and drinks etc to eat. You don't pay when you arrive, you pay when you leave, which I really like, as that's how it was when I was little, in the 90s, very nostalgic for me, and it gives you a chance to see the room first. Very lovely place. Thank you so much for making me feel comfortable, safe, and helping me. The room was so lovely, I wish I got to spend more time there.

This hotel has a lovely outside space during the summer we sat outside and had a lovely light lunch just after arrival. The staff were all helpful and welcoming. Our room was situated in the newer block and was clean and tidy. We paid for a junior suite it was very clean but a little basic but had everything we needed. The food in the restaurant was absolutely amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a wedding going on however this did not affect service at all. We experienced some noise at bed time from the wedding disco but we had received an email in advance to advise this may happen but it wasn’t too bad at all . Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

You had to walk outside to get to and from the main bar, reception and restaurant to our accommodation which in the summer is fine but if raining or cold wouldn’t be enjoyable. This is a small thing tho and wouldn’t stop us staying again

Everything is first class, so much so we stayed an extra night. Staff are approachable and professional, providing a first class friendly service. The hotel is a wonderful Victorian building in a well kept, attractive rural setting with ample parking. Inside the hotel the high standards continue; rooms are spacious with quality facilities including free WiFi, comfortable furniture and beverage supplies. The hotel has an excellent restaurant. The location provides a great base for visiting Windsor, Legoland etc. Highly recommended.

Nothing to dislike.
