I only booked a single bed room as I was travelling on my own for work. The lanes leading to the hotel are very narrow as the hotel is in a very quiet location. On artival youll find The Old House has a huge car park and is a very beautiful old building thats immaculately cared for. The reception from the staff was very welcoming and I was showed to my room. The bed was very comfortable, tea and coffee provided and an excellent shower. The breakfast was excellent with great cooked and excellent filter coffee. The staff who I met were also very friendly and helpful. The view from the breakfast room was beautiful. I think as a place to take a break, staying here would be lovely and it would also be a brilliant place to have a wedding. So, book your stay here with confidence. Its a lovely hotel, great customer service and I think good value for money.
The lanes you have to drive to get to the hotel are very very narrow and not nice to drive in the dark. However, its also why the hotel is so nice. Sometimes great places are a little off the beaten track. Its not a dislike, but you need to know what to expect.

Breakfast was good quality and served quickly. The single room is a VERY VERY small room. Unfortunately, the pictures of this room are not shown on the website, though all other rooms are pictured. So you assume you are going into a standard single room. As a result, the single bed didn't feel like a standard single bed, I'm under 6ft and my feet were fully at the edge. Nonetheless, the room was smart, the ensuite bathroom was very nice. The food is good is of a high standard and good value, with a lot of choices. The location sits at the top of a hill and the only way in and out is along single-track roads with walls of bushes either side. Good luck in anything the size of an estate car and up if you meet an oncoming vehicle, I had to reverse a few times to let people pass. One time, two vehicles and a van had to reverse about 30 yards to let someone pass.
Miscommunication about the time cooked breakfast was served meant we could have had a cooked breakfast an hour earlier that was communicated and left. The toilet needs securing to the floor, it wobbles. A bedside lamp in the room would be nice, as the LED lights are very bright. The only option was to turn on the ensuite light and close the door slightly to have some indirect light.

The staff were extremely friendly the room was spotless. We booked a table for food the food was exceptional cooked perfectly. I watched on as I think it was the manager took his time to interact with children that was also in the restaurant all the staff there were amazing not pushy and also wait for you to actually eat some food before asking if the food is OK absolutely will be visiting again. whole experience was fantastic easy to check in easy to check out very quiet considering they're open till 11pm with people in and out
If i had to pick something just to fill the box The water isn't hot straight away in the room and that's just me being really picky.

The room itself had a nice interior and was clean. Everything looked like in the pictures. Breakfast was also pretty good. The view from our room and the restaurant was stunning!
The check in wasn’t the most welcoming and the woman was short on words. There was still water in the shower either from the cleaning or the previous residents. A floor lamp or some kind of bedside lamp would be a nice addition. And the way to the Old House was also quite the ride. Just keep that in mind if you’re not a local and want to get there by night.

The food was excellent and the ambiance in the restaurant was lovely. Our room was nice and bed comfortable.
The room was too hot to sleep in. We didn't have a fan in Room 4 but our friends next door in Room 5 did and had it on all night. I thought the shower area looked abit tired and a new shower curtain and new grouting would help. Finally during our stay it rained all the time and when we went to and fro down the steps from the bar'restaurant on returning the doors were shut so we got wet stsying in the rain. We had to knock to be let in even though we were told door wouldbe left open.

Absolutely loved my stay here. The place is kept really clean, spacious rooms with an upstairs if you have more than 2 people in a room, food was absolutely gorgeous and well priced, staff are polite and friendly, great internet access, and the whole place is just so relaxing to stay. Definitely want to book here again.
I think breakfast should finish a little later than 9 a.m., as that's quite early for some, especially while on a little getaway. Perhaps finishing breakfast at 10 am would be better.

The welcome was amazing when we arrived. Very friendly helpful staff. A young lady showed us our room, which was one of the one's situated under the restaurant. The hanging baskets outside were beautiful, the room was also lovely. The views were also stunning. Me and my husband then went for a drink in the bar by the log burner. It was so cosy and again the staff very friendly. We then got changed and went for food in the restaurant. The restaurant was busy with a lovely atmosphere. The food was outstanding and so was the service.
The only thing I can fault is that at 6am the restaurant above our room became very noisy. Sounded like chairs and tables being dragged around. This went on for an hour. This haven't put us off visiting again, the positives far outway the negatives.

Unfortunately we were staying for my mothers memorial service in the village church. The staff were very helpful giving us early check in so we could change for ceremony. They also organised drinks and food for ‘the wake’ for around 50 people which was great and overall staff and management were excellent.
Bathroom sink too small so floor always wet, difficult to get privacy without having curtains drawn so miss the beautiful view from the rooms, bedside reading lamps would be useful.

Ok so over and above everything the food is outstanding. Their head chef and his brigade made us the most delicious food we have tasted in a very very long time and my dad and grandad were cooks. The property is stunning and the rooms well designed and nicely contemporary. The breakfast as with dinner was beautifully cooked with clearly local produce.
We stand in room 6. All in all it was great apart from three key problems. The metal plug in fan was broken and made a massive racket. We had to have it on because it was a warm evening. This should be checked and replaced as a matter of routine inspection. Secondly the water pressure was truly awful why create stunning rooms and then have gravity fed showers? The bathroom fittings which were painted black looked tired and the under metal was showing spoiling the decor which was a pity but totally forgivable.

Beautiful room - very modern and clean. Great shower, very powerful and proper space to move around! Lots of storage space to hang clothes and even though I didn't eat at the restaurant, it looked really well done. Loads of parking - massive bonus.
Location is beautiful but to get to the hotel, the roads are very narrow - not too annoying but something to consider if you're not a confident driver. Definitely google map beforehand and come in the most direct way. Obviously there is a pub downstairs so you can hear noise - on a weekday it wasn't at all offensive, but might bother light sleepers.
