Our room had a wonderful view of the beautiful Brixham harbour and the colourful buildings on the other side, probably the best possible view in Brixham. Matthew and Rosie were excellent hosts. We were visiting Brixham with a view to possibly moving there and Matthew was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The cooked breakfasts were really good and if you're a lover of Marmite you'll be in for a treat - I had no idea it was made in so many flavours! The room was clean and comfortable; homely.

Completely outside the control of our hosts but the weather was mostly cool and wet on our stay in March. But there were breaks in the rain long enough to enjoy some of the great scenic walks in and beyond the town. And Brixham's hostelries provided great beer and entertaining local colour to keep us happy and amused.

The welcome we received from Matthew & Rosie was outstanding and our stay continued to be outstanding. Our room overlooked the glorious harbour and was very clean and comfortable - l really slept so well. The facilities were really great with a lovely shower room/toilet, tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits provided too. The bed was really warm and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding with homemade yogurt and granola as well as a choice of cooked breakfasts and plenty of toast, tea and coffee. We learned from Matthew and Rosie of the various restaurants, walks etc. When we left Matthew helped us with our luggage. Definitely be back to stay here.

I really cannot fault anything, it is one of the nicest places with the nicest people that l have ever stayed at. Definitely recommend it.

The property was in a great location over looking the harbour with great views. It was very clean with lots of character. Rosie and Matthew were excellent hosts, very knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was delightful with a vast menu of home made hot and cold food, freshly made, along with real coffee, home made yoghurts, cereals, jams and marmalades. Nothing was too much trouble. Parking arranged nearby. We didn’t use the car once since we arrived so much to see and do.

Loved the Guest House Mathew and Rosie are very welcoming such lovely people would definitely stay there again good hospitality and loved the breakfasts if you wanted information on anything nothing was to much they definitely go above and beyond for you had a great time I will be back beautiful place xxx

Loved the location plenty to do such as boat trips and lots of walking and bus services are good to nice restaurants and cafes loved it all xx

I have stayed in many hotels and in many countries. I can honestly say that this hotel completely amazed me. It had a wonderful welcome from the proprietors, a dedicated parking space and interior charm that made it feel extremely cosy. Breakfast is included and again is one of the best breakfast that I have ever had. You are asked for your choice and it will be presented to you by the owner who will also stand and discuss with you where else you might eat in the evening and anything other that you may like to do locally. This is all done without any intrusion. if you just want to be quiet and keep to yourself, that’s fine too. We selected a “superior“ room and were given adjoining cottage that had its own kitchen and lounge. It had its own door to the outside and felt very cosy. In the morning, at a roughly agreed time, a key turned in interconnecting door led you back into the breakfast room, which was laid out with all possible cereals, juice, and fruit. it was utterly superb. If you go to Brixham, don’t even consider any other location.

The hosts were "Super Hosts", by far and away the nicest couple you are likely to meet and couldn't do enough for you. For example they helped unload the car and when they didn't have a particular bread Mathew went to the shops that day to get it - not that we expected it. The cooked breakfast was only made with the best ingredients and cooked to perfection, including several homemade items which were excellent.

Matthew and Rosie are excellent hosts - friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts were wonderful, with many choices available. It’s a very short walk to the centre of Brixham, but a much lovelier walk to Berry Head.

Our room was somewhat cramped although the view over the harbour was partial compensation - and we didn’t go to Brixham to spend a lot of time in a room anyway. The main road into Brixham being closed in both directions will be a pain for all for some time, it seems.

Everything.... Sampford Harbour was lovely clean,comfortable, amazing views from our suite. Mathew and Rosie are the perfect hosts, so friendly, informative and nothing is too much trouble. Brixham is my favourite place. We saw a seal in the harbour it was amazing!

Fantastic host, fabulous breakfast all locally made and sourced. Ensured we had somewhere planned to eat every evening and was happy to recommend and was interested in our experiences. Able to bring take aways back to the property and use the dining room. Extra tea and coffee provided. Really could not have done more.

Beautiful location. Fabulous views over the harbour. Very comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast cooked beautifully and lots to choose from. Very welcoming host, Matthew.

The only thing for us was that it was quite noisy with the traffic, and being a warm evening we had to have the windows open. This is at no fault of the owners.
