Both Patricia and John were so friendly and helpful. The home cooked food was delicious with plenty of choice. The added bonus of homemade lemon drizzle cake every day was most welcome.Lovely bright clean room with an exceptional view. Super large en-suite shower together with a walk in wardrobe made for an excellent stay. Perfect location to start a hike up Slieve Donard. We were happy to do the 1/2 hour walk into town each evening but only a 5 minute drive if not so energetic with plenty of free parking available.

Nothing to dislike at all. If it was a hotel it would be 5 stars

I don’t normally write reviews, but this property was exceptional. We had a room in the guest area of a modern large house. We had a deluxe king room which was spacious, light, very comfortable and good facilities. The bed was very comfortable. Our hosts were delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with home made breads. The property is beside the Mourne Mountains on the outskirts of Newcastle, but it’s an easy drive into Newcastle. We were mountain walking and were able to start or complete walks at the property. It’s very close to Tollymore Forest Park and an easy drive to Castlewellan Country Park. Will definitely consider a return visit.

We loved everything about the accommodation - the location is stunning, with gorgeous mountain views, the hosts were really friendly (we got some cake, scones and home made jams on arrival, all delicious, and Patricia gave us a tour of her splendid garden!), the apartment is very comfortable with a great bed, and all facilities you may need. We loved waking up in the morning to this amazing view; entire end wall of the apartment is glazed so it really feels like you’re in nature without even getting out (it is very quiet and all you hear is birdsong). Newcastle is in walking distance, and we drove out to Dundrum and Tollymore which are both great. We had a very relaxing stay, which was much needed and really couldn’t rate the stay high enough. Thank you!

Patricia and John, VIP treatment-polite, courteous and most professional. A guest feels most welcomed and appreciated. The breakfast was superb and presentation was like a Relais Chateaux. A Michelin 3 Star rating of the highest. Coffee, Fresh Orange Juice, and HOME made breads and jams. What A TREAT!!! In addition to a full Irish Breakfast. Patricia acted as a travel/tourist consultant making sure all the local native extraordinary places where on the radar and could be seen. CHERRYHILL LODGE IS EXCEPTIONAL BECAUSE PATRICIA AND JOHN CARE-MAKE GUESTS FEEL SPECIAL AND WELCOMED! Most Sincerely, Kevin Patrick Doyle-18SEP23

NOT BEING ABLE TO STAY LONGER AT CHERRYHILL. YOU CANNOT IMPROVE A LOVELY NEW HOME AND EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT THEIR GUESTS.

We booked the self-catering loft at Cherryhill Lodge but Patricia had still made sure that we had all the essentials to get us started; milk, butter, jam, some cereals, tea and coffee - and for a bonus there were some incredible homemade treats: scones, wheaten bread and a couple of slices of cakes to start the weekend. Patricia made sure we were settled in and even offered us a lift into town - going above and beyond what we expected. The Loft itself was brilliant. Massive comfortable bed, lounge area and some outside furniture to relax and take in the incredible views of the Mournes. Very clean and well kept with good wifi and a TV to relax after hiking in the day. We would definitely visit again

The hostess Patricia was lovely, went out of her way to make you feel welcome . She went above and beyond of what you would expect from a host .of course you can't forget wee daisy the dog such a cutie . There was scones and buns as a welcome treat. The loft was lovely had everything you needed and more. There was only one problem ... and that was we didn't stay longer. But we will hopefully book again in the future.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The breakfast was really amazing. The owner makes everything herself and her ingredients are all sourced locally. The homemade granola is delicious. It is just such a welcoming home, stunning gardens and spotless rooms. Sheer bliss. The price of the room is very reasonable and worth every penny. We love going here to recharge the batteries-it is so peaceful.

There is truly nothing we dislike about Cherryhill Lodge….except going home!!

Patricia, John and Daisy made our weekend. From the moment we arrived we felt totally relaxed and at home in their warm and comfortable B&B. The room was clean and had everything we needed, even some complimentary brownies to go with our tea! It was the little touches like that which made our stay so special. Patricia and John were always quick to offer advice and provide us with extra scones for our daily hike up nearby mountains. All the scones and bread was deliciously homemade, and the breakfast was immense in their beautiful dining room. Cannot recommend highly enough. The B&B is warm, comfortable and quiet, but still only 20 minutes walk to Newcastle.

Not a dislike, but if you plan to walk in and out of town in the evening, bear in mind there is a short part of the route (200m)from the B&B which is unlit country road so have a torch/reflective jacket ready. The rest is perfectly safe and lit.

All I can say is Patricia is an extremely talented lady and very humble. The homemade granola from scratch was amazing (even picking the blackberries). The best treat was where you have breakfast the views of the amazing garden and mountains is a sight to be hold. Patricia and her husband were so helpful, kind hearted people with a beautiful home. (I wanted to take the bed with me). Patricia gave homemade scones and bread and tea to bring home with me. Would highly recommend Cherryhill Lodge. 5mins drive from town and 8 mins to beach

I didn't get to stay longer
