Love the spa,and the surroundings ,I bring my husband down every year for his birthday

Children taking the beds at the spa ,and the only toilets that could be used was at the spa ,and the walk from the front of hotel to the back

Location and the hotel itself are superb. Staff went over and above to ensure we had a comfortable stay and were very friendly. Food in restaurant was delicious and entertainment in bar afterwards was good too. Huge bonus for us was the fact the hotel is dog friendly and staff were excellent in ensuring our dog was comfortable. Dishes, bed, treats and toys all included in the fee for the dog to stay.

Small drawback was that there is no air conditioning in the room during an extremely hot spell of good weather, although hotel provided us with fans for both of our rooms so this was only a minor flaw.

The Slieve Donald really does take your breath away when you arrive...its a beautiful building and the staff were very friendly, the spa facilities were excellent with beautiful views across the mountains and sea and breakfast was amazing, everything you could want and plenty of staff to accommodate :)

We weren't big fans of the room itself as the windows were blocked out with frosted glass and with the dark colours of the room it felt very claustrophobic, the fan didn't work in the bathroom and didn't have a cover also the toilet roll holder was broke, the bathroom didn't match the grandeur of the room itself and it was quite dated also the tea and coffee facilities should be next to a plug but that's a personal preference although this wouldn't stop me from coming back I would just choose a sea view room in the future

Very nice place, first time for us in a castle! The breakfast was well provided The bed was very comfortable The spa with jacuzzi facing the sea is a big plus

The breakfast service was a little strange for us... We were asked to wait for a table when there were plenty free. There was no more of one product, I asked for it, waited 10 minutes and it was never refilled… It was a bit strange. We felt we were being treated a little differently (because we're young, maybe?). We thought the room we had was very expensive. But the location is really magnificent.

Good breakfast. Like the whisky with the porridge. Great pool facilities

The green paint in the room. (Minisweet room 239) Very much like a cave. Not enough lighting (couldn't read the AC temp). I have been coming each year to the Slieve D. and not impressed by the green revamp. Probably getting a bit expensive too. Ditto for the restaurant evening meal with not the greatest cuisine.

Lovely hotel. Got a room upgrade because of anniversary Beautiful room with superb views Great swimming pool facilities, hot tub, sauna & steam room, relaxation lounges A* Breakfast, good choice of food and all tasted lovely

It was a shame that treatments were unavailable during our stay due to works being carried out temporarily, couldn't be helped but staff were lovely about it Extremely punctual door knock at 11.01am by staff to vacate room, would of been ni e to have 10mins grace, otherwise an exceptional experience, lovely building and very professional friendly staff

Generally liked all of the hotel, staff were friendly, rooms were nice and clean.

Serval faults for a 5 star hotel, I would question if it's a 5 star hotel. No valet parking & porter service. 11Am check out is too early!! Breakfast was nice but not enough choices. Original room was poor, no bath, view over looking the maintenance area and staff smoking area. Front of house did upgrade us without hesitation.

Staff very helpful, friendly and professional throughout. Excellent view over mountains, beach and sea. (A bit cold this time to visit the beach) A lot of refurbishment at time of visit - But Not a Hinderance to the experience. Location, Location, Location. Great food both in Percy French by the entrance and at breakfast. Good range of food, buffy style. Poached eggs - Perfect.

Having paid for an Upgrade Room only to find it had double interconnecting doors to the room next door. This later presented a sound proofing problem. We could clearly hear the conversations of people in the next room. Struggled to get any sleep throughout the night due to constant snoring from next door all night long. Room was very clean but carpet had a number of stains including a large dried red wine stain beside the bed. A lot of bird droppings on windows (Seagulls) but it was by the sea.

Reception staff are very polite and welcoming. Beds were so comfortable. There are plenty of towels in the room Breakfast was amazing ,so much choice and staff very efficient Staff used a golf buggy to bring us from spa entrance to percy french and back ,nice touch as main entrance not accessible, so a bit of a walk The offer to get our car as we had parked at the front of the hotel was a nice touch . We were fine getting car ourselves ,but the offer was a nice touch. Nothing was too much for staff. I felt spoilt .

That we didn't get to see the hotel in all its glory because of renovation work Pool area very small for such a large hotel, no loungers to relax on.

The hotel itself the staff were amazing couldn’t do enough for you they were so helpful. The bar in the hotel were the same. Made us feel welcome and comfortable. We also went to the Percy French for dinner and the staff were excellent the service from the manager and a young girl was great. The food was hot and fresh.

Myself and my partner went to the lighthouse for dinner on Friday 20th January. The restaurant was suppose to open at 6 we arrived after 6 and were told to come back as the restaurant was not ready for us yet which was fair enough. We had a lovely experience from two of the girls but from the manager (I assume as she had a black dress as her uniform) was a disgrace the way we were made to feel. As we were leaving my partner tipped the staff and she got the tip and slammed it into the jar and give us an unpleasant look. We felt degraded as if our tip wasn’t good enough and as if we were peasantry. We were made to feel embarrassed and were considering not going for our breakfast the next morning.
