This is the second time staying at creeghduff lodge. We have travelled all over the world and John and Sarah are one of the best hosts we have ever come across. Nothing is ever too much trouble. You are greeted at the door on arrival. The rooms are very large, with a large bathroom and comfortable beds. Breakfast was exceptional. I am vegetarian which was fully catered for with no cross contamination with my partners food as she eats meat. I am lactose intolerant as well, so this was fully catered for as well. I have visited downpatrick for 50 years and would not consider staying anywhere else. The icing on the cake was homemade cookies in the bedroom too.

That I cannot live there full time.

Sarah and John were just fabulous! They were the perfect hosts! The setup here is perfect for a family or two couples. They have 2 rooms upstairs with a common area including mini-fridges and a TV in between the rooms. We ran a bit late when we drove from Dublin. Not only did they wait up for us, they gave us food recommendations for nearby. Their house is great with ample parking and family antiques for decor. The location is a bit off the beaten path but it's still near plenty of sights including Castle Ward, Inch Abbey and Tollymore Forest Park. The bathroom was very nice, as was the shower, and was so clean it felt new. Breakfast was great and it was made to order, which means we got exactly what we wanted and it tasted amazing. We will plan on a stay here again next time we are in the area!

If I had one complaint it would be the vaulted ceilings. The sides of the room and bathroom get a little low. I'm 6'3" and I had to duck a bit. This was a small price to pay for the quality accommodations here!

Our family loved absolutely everything about Creeghduff Lodge! The warmth of hospitality by John & Sarah who welcomed us into their home like we were old friends. Exceptional accommodation - immaculate, spacious & comfy family room with spotless ensuite bathroom, with a dressing room and a snug sitting area with comfy recliners & floor cushion to watch TV or to play Uno! We had our own mini fridge which had been stocked up with bottled water and fresh milk and we had been left tea bags, coffee, sachets of hot chocolate with a kettle in our room together with delicious homemade cookies Sarah had kindly made. Amazing breakfasts each morning with cereal, fresh fruit, orange juice, tea, coffee, yogurts, toast and a very tasty Ulster fry. Fantastic location to explore nearby Newcastle, Downpatrick, Strangford ferry over to Portaferry and many attractions e.g. The Silent Valley, Mourne Mountains, Seaforde Gardens & Tropical Butterfly House, Mount Stewart, Exploris Aquarium, St Patrick's grave. A peaceful, rural location yet handy for exploring! We couldn't recommend Creeghduff Lodge highly enough.

We have just returned home from a wonderful stay at Creeghduff Lodge. Sarah and John and the loveliest of hosts, from their lovely warm greeting as we pulled up outside to the wonderful home baked goodies Sarah kindly gave us for our long journey home (our son loved the brownies and ate half before the rest of us got a look in)- we were made to feel like part of their family from the start! The property is exceptionally clean and well kept throughout, the room we stayed in (the Hereford) was very spacious and plenty big enough for two adults and our children aged 5 and 2! It had an en-suite bathroom with a bath which was great and an essential when travelling with the kids! There was a sitting room area just outside the room with comfy sofas and a tv. Perfect for putting our feet up once the kids were asleep! The cottage is in an outstanding location with an excellent view of the Mourne Mountains from the beautifully landscaped gardens. The breakfast was beyond all our expectations, Sarah had asked what the kids would like for their breakfast when we arrived and the kids being kids asked for porridge (in august!!!) but this was no trouble for Sarah and John and both the kids ate every drop the following mornings! The cooked breakfast was the nicest I’ve had in any place I’ve stayed before, and surpassed any 4* hotel I’ve eaten breakfast in. All cooked to perfection with a choice of eggs. Even homemade potato bread which was a real treat! Thanks again Sarah and John (and Bracken and Bramble too!) for making our stay so comfortable. We hope to be back again soon.

Everything. Couldn’t fault it. They’ve done awesome job on garden by all accounts. What a bedroom & en-suite. Loads of room. The home made shortbread is awesome - extremely moreish!! Fridge with milk & water in joint lounge between the 2 bedrooms. Another big TV if you’re into that. Certainly in joint top few places I’ve stayed at & that’s a lot over years. So Bill & Sarah, your up there with the best 👍🏻👌🏻 🏆🏵️ I thank you 🙏🏻

Absolutely nothing

Waiting at the door with a warm welcome, this truly is a wonderful home with wonderful hosts. Homemade cookies, tea, coffee, hot chocolate in your room, and a fridge to use with milk and water bottles chilling for you. Plenty of space for a family of 4 in the family room with super comfortable beds and a great sized bathroom!

We arrived in the evening and left after breakfast - would have loved more time here!!

John & Sarah are the most amazing and welcoming hosts. Creeghduff Lodge is immaculate and a true credit to John & Sarah. Everything is perfect - our room was huge and the quality of the bedding perfect. We would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely return. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful if we could give it a 10 star review then we would. Thank you John & Sarah for making our stay so lovely.

This is a superb B&B with every comfort you could possibly wish for during your stay. John and Sarah were wonderful hosts, and we received a really warm welcome into their lovely home. Our room was spotlessly clean and the ensuite bathroom really spacious and well equipped. Tea and coffee-making facilities were provided, along with Sarah's wonderful chocolate chip cookies, and it was lovely to have a jug of fresh milk in the fridge rather than the normal tiny plastic cartons. Breakfast each morning was delicious and freshly cooked to order. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

There was nothing to dislike about this lovely B&B.
