What's not to like? The location, with free parking available, was a comfortable ten minute walk into the town centre. The accommodation was absolutely top drawer, with the additional bonus of being able to access the very pretty garden (we stayed in July). The breakfast was wonderful - a choice of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts etc as a prelude to a cooked course (I opted for the Full English, my wife for smoked salmon with scrambled eggs). We were so full we didn't require lunch. The hosts, Hugh and Jillie were delightful - charming, helpful and fun. They are masters of striking the right balance between being available if you need or want them and giving you enough space and time to be on your own when you want. We asked for restaurant recommendations and they pointed us towards Petit Coco - a smashing little French bistro a short walk from Laurel House. The next day they were anxious to know whether we had enjoyed it - which we absolutely had. Their recommendation, like everything else about our stay at Laurel House, was just simply perfect.

The property was very well maintained, inside and outside with ample parking. Only a short 10-15 minute walk to the main shopping area. We had the basement flat which had a large living room, large double bedroom, single bedroom, own kitchen and bathroom with both shower and bath. All linen was provided.

Our only issue we could highlight was with the door from the property entrance to our staircase down, as it did not have a lock on it so was open to anyone within the property. We did not bring this up with the owners as we felt comfortable with them and didn’t feel it was an issue with them directly but with other guests we had to take a risk.

A beautiful Victorian house full of character. Really well placed - just 10 minutes from Cheltenham Town FC ( and close to the racecourse ). Walkable from railway station and close to town centre. Friendly greeting - Hugh and Jilly are fantastic hosts. Small hotel with a real personal touch. Amazing, fantastic large bedroom with modern en suite. Tastefully decor - a real home from home. WiFi is good - fast and reliable Tea & coffee in room with proper fresh milk supplied. Comfortable bed and very quiet so I got a great nights sleep. Top class breakfast made to order. Made to feel so at home and so welcome. This was the best family run small hotel I have stayed in - I can’t praise them highly enough. I would choose Laurel House every time if I was staying in the area.

Fantastic large family run guest house - loved our nights stay there brilliant large on suite bedroom very comfortable bed very clean - owners super friendly - Hugh was so kind in popping out for oat milk for my partner. Breakfast great & cooked as we chatted - just a brilliant start to the day - a superb place to stay in Cheltenham easy walking distance to the main High Street & great for race goers.

Such a beautiful apartment . Really spacious and very tastefully decorated Very hospitable , courteous, obliging hosts Delicious breakfast . Beautifully presented fresh fruit and perfectly cooked breakfast Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s in the ‘basement ‘ . Large windows and plenty of light.

Pillows were uncomfortable for me but husband thought they were ok Couldn’t open a window - presumably locked for security reasons

Thank you, Jill and Hugh for a wonderful overnight stay! Your apartment is beautiful - so spacious and has everything you need! We loved seeing all the old school books and items around the rooms. The private lounge was great to have to be able to chill out and relax in the evening. You were both so accommodating and friendly, making sure that our stay was as good as possible. The private driveway for parking was great - thank you for allowing us to park early and slightly later after check out. The breakfast was delicious! Plenty of food available and all so tasty. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

We had an amazing time at Laurel House! The hosts were incredibly friendly and hospitable, always available with suggestions for great places to eat and local attractions. Every morning, we enjoyed delicious and varied breakfasts. The apartment was pleasant, clean, and spacious, providing us with a comfortable stay.. We highly recommend Laurel House to anyone looking for a pleasant and relaxing getaway

Laurel house was excellent. We were greeted by Hugh and Jilly who were excellent hosts. Our room was upstairs, a large room with an ensuite bathroom with shower. The bed (and pillows) was very comfortable. Our room also had a seating area in the bay window which was a nice space to relax in the sun. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided in the room. Breakfast was exceptional with yoghurt, fruit and cereals on offer. Then the option of a full cooked breakfast which Jilly cooked to order. Breakfast was served in the large kitchen and we chatted to Jilly whilst she cooked. It was a lovely stay and we felt like guests in someone's home rather than a B&B. We would stay again next time we need accommodation in Cheltenham. Easy walking distance from the centre of town with free parking on site.

the room is very very clean and the decorations are very elegant the housekeeper are very nice and gentle

unfortunately when we were taking shower at 8:30pm the hot water was disappearing.we operated by ourselves but we can’t get it.After we ask for the housekeeper for help,we waiting for at least 20 minutes to continue the shower,during the time we have the shampoo on the head.and we get the Stomach Flu.

We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts, they even supplied de-icer for our vehicle after a suprise frost! We stayed just one night but were treated like valued guests. The breakfast included a choice of anything we could possibly require and our dietary requirements were catered for considerately. Our room was very comfortable and charming. The location was perfect to walk to the centre of Cheltenham.
