The location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was also very good, we ate there 3 nights and each meal was very good. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, we particularly liked the fridge in the room. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Great shower too. Everything in the room was finished to a very high standard.

We could not understand why when so much thought had obviously been put into the comfort of the room the designer had thought it appropriate to have an open plan toilet! ....An open plan bathroom yes but toilet NO!! When we saw the pictures of the room online we thought that they had left the bathroom doors open to showcase the lovely copper bath....so just be advised that the bathroom is totally open and if you are ok with that you will really enjoy your stay.

Beautiful, spacious bedroom with a four poster bed and copper bath. Breakfast was delicious. Setting is stunning with gorgeous views over manicured fields. We stayed for a wedding nearby which started early and we’d be there until midnight so we’re concerned about how we’d checking but the staff were very accommodating and kind, allowing us to pick up a spare key at breakfast time and dropping our bags in our room for our return. The wedding meant we didn’t spend a tonne of time in the room although the generous 11am checkout time did mean we had a some time on the morning to relax before leaving. Would definitely like to come back and enjoy it in full.

Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful location and stunning rooms. The premises was well kept and we loved our weekend away! If we could have stayed longer we would have!

No room service after a 6.5 hour drive so had to order food in as we were exhausted. The breakfast was overcooked (to the point that the black pudding wouldn’t let the knife cut through), the has brown saturated in oil, and the sausages were herby which the menu didn’t state and we don’t like so the majority was left by both of us. Waitress didn’t ask how our meal was and we couldn’t find her to raise our thoughts.

The room was lovely. As was the bar and the food. Also the staff were very friendly. We never got a chance to try the shower or bath unfortunately.

As a private person personally, I like a proper wall with door on a bathroom, not curtains. Also I'm assuming there were people cleaning the windows and door well before departure time, which not only woke us up as we could hear their conversations in full.. when it came to cleaning the door we felt someone was about to walk into our room which made us anxious.

The location, decor, and general ambience is fantastic. The rooms are gorgeous and great value for money. I love the balcony in front of the upstairs rooms and the flowers around the property are beautiful and well looked after. This is one of the few occasions that the photos genuinely portray exactly what you're getting with the room - quality, luxury, and comfort.

Despite the staff being friendly and well-meaning, the level of service in the restaurant was appalling. We had to wait nearly an hour for a sandwich at lunchtime and there was nearly an hour wait between courses at dinner. I was shocked to see the kitchen abandoned halfway through service and 3 out of 4 of the waiters/waitresses having a break at the same time while our dirty plates were left on the table for 20 minutes. Such a shame, as this place could be amazing. This establishment is in great need of more kitchen staff and a strong manager on duty at all times.

Location was stunning. Amazing views! Rooms were set slightly away from the main property which meant it was nice & quiet. There was a wedding going on in the marquee but it didn’t impact on us at all. Nespresso coffee machine & free bottled water which is always good. Bed very comfy. Room absolutely gorgeous & very spacious.

Rooms were quiet but if someone turned on a tap in a neighbouring room, we could hear it quite loudly. There were some sort of heating controls in the room but we weren’t able to use them. It didn’t seem to be aircon & it was very warm. A large fan was provided. There were some very nice toiletries provided but for some reason no shower gel or shampoo in the shower. On the whole it was great though.

Very large room with bathroom. Huge comfy bed. Great shower. The restaurant was great and we had a lovely meal there. Good selection of gin in the bar. Great breakfast too.

The front door to our room had glass but no blind so the sun steamed in at dawn. Luckily I had an eye mask but it woke my husband both mornings. Why not fit a blind?! Also there was only a curtain between the bedroom & bathroom.

Our first breakfast took a long time to arrive and scrambled egg was cold and toast was baked hard. Looked forward to next day when the breakfast was fine but there was no toast/bread!

As above, we had bar snacks first day which erred excellent , but the next day they were cold and many of the the chips were black and overcooked. Really disappointing after being soaked to the skin nearly all day.

what was done with the old place was very well done. truley a place to relaxe and enjoy.

basin tap, not enough clearance between spout and basin. noisy fridge in the room. front door latch was sticky such that the bolt did not always latch. trivial things but price is up there so the facilities should match

overall the property was fabulous in an amazing setting. The room was big, clean and essentially comfortable with the exception of a couple of, for me, fairly major faults . I was there for a family wedding and it was perfect. Staff in the main were friendly and helpful with the odd exception . Food wasn’t cordon blue but it was good .

There were two massive faults in the room for me that made my stay less than comfortable. The quilt on the bed was way too small. It barely reached both sides of the bed even without any bodies in it. Consequently with two people in the bed the gap at either side was at least 8 inches meaning that there’s no hope of a warm sleep in the colder months . A quilt should ALWAYS be one size bigger than the bed. Although the bathroom was stunning it was let down badly by the fact that it’s not possible to fully close the door either from inside or outside the bathroom. Also the lighting in the bathroom was extremely poor with no bright light at all .
