The breakfast was the best we have ever had. Beautifully prepared and superb choice. Location wise the hotel is great for being close to shops and restaurants and harbour. The town is cheerful but don’t expect the Ritz! Great base for exploring Dorset. The hotel is a classic and feels homely, far from a chain hotel experience. Nice room touches - replenished and exceptionally clean . Staff are wonderful . It’s a quiet and twee. We would return without doubt !

The attic rooms are as they are described-cosy! Too dark for us and ridiculously hot as they literally receive everyone’s warmth !

Location , handy for High St, Priory and most beautiful walk by riverside to quayside. Comfortable rooms, really good breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Staff friendly.

my big thing was we returned from a drive Sunday evening to find no car spaces opposite hotel. As its a bit busy on the road we drove past and parked . Phoned Hotel fir almost 20 minutes using different selections and no reply. Eventually walked back to hotel and was told there was more parking nearby but they couldn’t find the map showing the way. Senior person showed us a space in the original car park which probably wasnt really a spot as it had a raised kerb. Bath : not good enough for people with limited movement , grab rail required. Couldn’t shut the sash window.

Loved the staff, parking facilities, location and breakfast!!

The bed was enormously uncomfortable! The mattress was not fully sprung and felt like you were going to slip off the edge. It was not even and the dip was very bad for our backs. Given this is the main part of the stay, it was very disappointing. We are parents of a young baby and the opportunity to sleep well was one of the highlights for us! We ended up sleeping so badly that we felt quite exhausted the next day. We were only down for the weekend so it was quite frustrating.

Food was excellent and made extra special when the waitress bought out a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate sauce with chocolates on the plate to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary.

The A/C unit could have been more proficient. The sign advised us to close windows due to the proximity of the river being close by and therefore there would be mosquitoes. We did this but couldn’t get much cool air from the A/C unit resulting in a disturbed night sleep.

The location was brilliant, right in the centre of the Town where we wanted to be. The team were excellent especially Yahn on arrival. Free parking. Room was large & facilities good. Breakfast was excellent.

First night we got back to the Hotel around 10pm & everything was closed down including the Bar,the team had obviously finished & was sat around. The Matress needs changing. The second night I had to call the Reception at 03:00 as they had workmen which had kept us up all night. I couldn't understand why if they knew work was to be undertaken that they didn't give us a different room to begin with?

Had been under the hot lamp for too long , bacon and eggs overcooked

Was advised could not sit at the restaurant bar with the other four who were enjoying a nice evening during as we were not eating. The main bar was closed / again! Attitude of I think German waiter at breakfast on Thursday 1st June - very assertive, short, -a perfectionist - it’s a shame the food didn’t match his portrayed personal standards. Tha Other staff were very helpful and personable.

Our room was very comfortable and warm with plenty of room for all our belongings. I was a little worried on arrival as we were at the front of the hotel which stands on the main road, but I have to say the traffic did not keep me awake at all. Be aware that the church is very close and does chime every hour on the hour but this didn't bother us at all, although it might some people.

As we were right up at the top of the hotel, my husband did bang his head on the sloping roof a few times when walking around the bed but I think this is being picky other than that our stay was perfect.

The location. The air conditioning. The shower. Comfortable bed. We stayed for breakfast and Sunday dinner. The meals were top class. Gluten free choices were available. A lovely hotel.

Our breakfast on the Monday morning was delayed by half an hour with no explanation. We saw others being served out of turn, before us, so I asked where our breakfast was. It arrived after this and we received a short apology There was no Gluten free information on the menu.

Spacious room. Tasteful decoration. THIS REVIEW IS NOT FOR REPRODUCTION ON YOUR WEB SITE.

Could hear neighbour's TV through walls. Bathtub too high to step into; no grab holds; drain in middle precludes use of non-stick mat. Insufficient surround at sink. Toilet roll holder on left hand side. No sanitary bags. Chairs in room too deep to permit comfortable seat. In sum bathroom and some fittings designed for appearance rather than utility and comfort.
