September 2024
The room was nice and spacious, with a very comfy bed. The duvet was cozy and would be very nice in winter but was way too hot for September. Good shower with excellent pressure!
It would have been nice to have a luggage rack (there was plenty of floor space for it), and somewhere in the bathroom, i.e. a shelf or a stool, to leave the washbag. The bathroom floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned very thoroughly. The spotlights were too bright and the bedside lamps too dim. A floor lamp to give more ambient light would have been very welcome. The desk is lovely and slim and unobtrusive but not very practical if it needs to be use for work.

The family room was spotlessly clean with a good selection of tea & coffee facilities. The room decor was very tasteful and in keeping with the building and the beds were very comfortable. The Receptionist was very friendly, helpful and welcoming and it was great to be able to park on site. During our stay we had lunch in the foodhall, had fun bowling, ate and drank in the Brewery and enjoyed breakfast at the Emporium. A great way to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday especially when the weather was wet and miserable. We will definitely stay again hopefully when the weather is better so we can explore Clitheroe.

Great room, very comfortable, modern decor, friendly staff. Didn't have any meals in the hotel so can't comment on that but did have a drink in the Bistro which was very nice although fairly pricey (£30 for a bottle of wine). There's no parking at the hotel itself, but you can take advantage of 3 hours free parking at Holmes Mill complex then either pay (£10 overnight) or move your car to another car park (the Castle car park is less than 5 minutes walk on same street as hotel and much cheaper) or there is free on-street parking along that same street (Eshton Terrace) if you can find a space (we did, just a couple of minutes from the hotel entrance)

The room was clean, had more than enough facilities & the receptionist went above and beyond for us. From the moment I arrived I felt very welcomed. The receptionist managed to let me have an early check in (just before heading to a wedding outside of town) which meant I could finish getting ready, she then helped me with my bags up to my room and offered to help book a taxi, while I was waiting for the taxi she was chatty and friendly. She is a brilliant receptionist and a credit to your company. Thank you for making our stay really special and for this reason alone we would recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in Clitheroe and we will definitely be back! It really was a perfect stay!

The room was incredibly spacious and we had everything we needed. We booked the penthouse suite, and were shocked upon entering at the size of the room. The only, minor criticism was that the shower didn’t have a door and the bathroom floor became incredibly wet. But it’s a tiny issue when considering how comfortable we were. The bed was incredibly comfortable. And general decor and cleanliness was top notch. The staff were incredibly friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. And breakfast was amazing.

Great location with very friendly staff. Very good facilities in the complex. Great looking bar with an excellent choice of beers that sadly we didn't get to try because we were staying in order to go to another event locally. Breakfast was good. Would go back.
The bedside lamps look good but are no where near bright enough to read by. We've had brighter nightlights for the children when they were small. First impression spoiled by a big stain in the carpet right outside the door.

the whole experience and set up was very good the place the staff etc. We will definitely be coming back to stay in Clitheroe at the Spinning Block hotel when other events come on.
A small constructive bit of criticism is that while it was very nice being able to order your breakfast from a very good menu with lots of choice. The 2 nights we actually stayed at the hotel the breakfasts served were a little cold considering it is made to order. This was on both mornings. something that can easily be rectified

There was a wedding on while we stayed. So we knew to expect some late night noise, its not the hotels fault, boisterous noisy guests. And the screaming in the corridors to each other was not appreciated, but that's the guests, not the hotels fault. Room was quiet, a bolster supplied to block the light under the door,gr8 idea. The standard of the finish in the room and bathroom was top notch. Great shower, very clean. Bathroom doors need a bottom protector to stop water damage from walk in shower. All the staff we spoke with were very very friendly and polite .Breakfast was one of the best i have ever had, tasty with local produce. 11 out of 10.Comfy bed....but it would benefit from being a larger bed. I 'think' its a king size and that a 'queen 'size is larger...if that's correct we would have prefeed a queen size. just cos I'm a bloke.....a big bloke, wide ;-).We would still come again, absolutely loved it and would ask if there is a room that would have that longed for larger bed. Very close to town centre and on site bar, restaurant, food hall, everyman theatre. Will prob go back with friends for a weekend.
The Parking was not good. On site parking is 3hrs FREE (Hence everyman and his dog uses it to go shopping )and £10 for 24 hours. Trouble is if you are a guest of the hotel there is no designated Hotel parking only. Advised to park on a side street, which we eventually found, but arriving on Sat (Market Town) afternoon, lets just say it was challenging.

Large comfy room. Big, clean, beautiful shower room. Shower was powerful and hot. Good selection of drinks. Able to open window for some fresh air but the temperature was pretty good for me (not too hot). Check in was smooth, welcoming and helpful. Pretty quiet (especially given the location) but I stayed in the week for work so I'm not sure how quiet it would be on a weekend. Found the parking very straightforward even though they obviously have issues with it.
Decor was weird - the wallpaper is literally the worst I have ever seen and its everywhere! However this is obviously personal taste! The sidelights were very dim indeed so the lighting option was full ceiling lights or nearly dark - could do with an in-between stage. Could hear other guests walking around/talking but this didn't go on late or disrupt me too much. It is an old building after all.

Great old cotton mill with an interesting history and brilliant conversion. Lots of facitlities, the food hall with it's cafe's was amazing and the bar with 42 hand pumps was awesome. The hotel bisto was an experience with the lavish decor, breakfast was good. We ate at the Emporium (just up the road and same owners) and likewise the building conversion was well done and the decor really interesting, the food was good too. Everything here is on a very large scale in contrast to Clitheroe which is a small town, but a great place to stay.
Minor issues but bathroom had a towel radiator and extractor fan but neither worked, so wet towels in the morning and very steamy bathroom after a shower.
