Fantastic Location, Great Food, Great Staff and a Great Price. So much so, we have booked to come back here again later this year. The room was moderately sized with a small shower room. The food was genuine home cooked food at a very reasonable price, come on, I mean £5 for a full cooked breakfast, cereal, juices, tea and coffee... It was definitely worth double that amount. The Landlord was a very amiable chap as were the locals we chatted to in the bar area. Great location for walking to Top Withens and into Haworth. Highly Recommended place to stay!

Everything was great, from check-in to check-out. The staff were friendly and helpful, the building has lots of character, and the room was comfortable and well laid out. We had a meal in the evening, and the food was excellent, well cooked and almost too much to eat. On the morning of departure, we found over a foot of snow outside, and though we had to wait for the road to be cleared, we were well looked after by the owner before we finally got on the road.

This is not a complaint, just an observation. As the building is very old, you can see there isn't a lot of room for modernisation, so our en-suite was quite small.

Lovely old historic inn in a nice quiet location about 1/2 hour from Halifax. Very comfortable room and really friendly staff. Nice homely feel to the lounge bar area as well. Good breakfast to set us up for the day and there was a great menu for the evening meals. Would recommend the stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon with mushroom sauce and potatoes. It was gorgeous.

Hot water for the shower took about 5 mins to get warm. Not sure if that was a general problem or due to the water pressure in the area. Other than that everything else was great.

A lovely little inn which catered for our needs. From the moment we walked in, our expectations were met. Friendly and helpful staff from the get-go. We ate both the evening meal and breakfast and couldn't fault the variety and quality. We just loved the setting. Breakfast was delightful. A hot and cold selection was available. Our hosts were more accommodating. Thank you.

Given the property's heritage, it's a given as to what could be done, more so for the suites. We occupied room 7 and the on-suite space was tight. However, without a doubt, we'd stay again.

The pub was very cosy, on the menus there was abit of history about the place which was interesting. All staff were very helpful and friendly, reassured nothing was too big. We stayed for one Sunday night, so were able to have Sunday lunch plus breakfast in the morning which were delicious. Upstairs to the room smelt very clean so did the room itself. Beds were very comfortable, good to have a tv with Netflix to be able to logon to, so we watched a film tugged up in bed.

We stay here if possible whenever we are in the area, The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. The food is excellent, and there is always a good choice of draught beers to try. It's a bit of a trip into the nearest town, but that's not a problem. Due to the age of the property, the layout is a bit tight, and the en-suite in our room is a bit of a tight fit. Again, it's not a criticism, just an observation.

Everything about this was exactly what we were looking for. Great parking, dog friendly, close to the walks and a couple of towns, perfect. From the off the staff and regulars were welcoming, chatty & helpful. The room was clean, a good size and came with a great view of the hills. As for food, we ate there both nights - the 2nd night was steak night and did not disappoint - the wine selection was also good. The breakfasts were filling and set you up for a day of walking. The location is halfway down a hill looking picturesque in its setting and within walking distance are two other pubs allowing a small and quite satisfying pub crawl.

Location was good, quiet and plenty of off road parking. Beds - we had twin and they were very comfortable. We both slept well. Breakfast - plenty of choice. Full breakfast was amazing both in taste and quantity. Bacon with runny egg sandwich was lovely. Highly recommend both. All staff were welcoming, polite and friendly.

The only comment I would make is that maybe by the bar area in front of the lovely old fireplace that there is comfortable seating, soft chairs/sofas. Somewhere to relax if just wanting a drink, or relaxing before or after food. We know they are new Landlords with good future plans so look forward to returning to see the results.

Bedroom was a good size, very clean, comfortable bed, smart TV available. Plenty of wardrobe space, drawers for clothes and other items. Bathroom small but nice modern fittings and very clean, a nice selection of toiletries provided. Tea tray provided and replenished daily with complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, sugar and milk. Complimentary bottled water also provided. A very tasty full English breakfast or a selection of hot breakfast items available together with cereals, conserves, toast and hot drinks and fruit juices. The owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly and I would highly recommend a stay at this property. Location excellent for Haworth.

The proprietors were both friendly and accommodating as were the restaurant and bar staff.The evening meals we had were delicious and lots of items on the menu were homemade. Breakfast in the morning was yummy.The property is very old and full of character. All bar one room is dog friendly but this is not stated on the booking.com blurb. Plenty of free parking too. We will definitely visit again.

The homemade chicken Kiev could have been more garlicky but that is just down to personal preference and taste.
