Judy our host was fabulous and knowledgeable about the Island and her son who checked us in and who we believe was the chef was equally as nice, The location was great - less than a 10 minute walk to the pier. We had a drink on the late afternoon when we arrived and ate there on the first night. We really enjoyed the food (maybe ease off on the salad). Great breakfasts included in the room price and again very personal attention from Judy who chats with everyone. Best thin is they love dogs but not at breakfast!

Like a lot of the hotels in Sandown despite having a very quiet twin room the bathroom especially the shower was small, but lacked a few amenities. We had a bar of soap but no shower gel or shampoo even in sachets. Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay and would return.

Lovely little room with all the basic facilities and very comfortable beds, in a quiet area. We all had excellent sleep. Not the most modern set-up, but perfectly acceptable, clean and functional. There was a place to walk the god before bedtime and first thing in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay and will likely come back again.

I would have liked to have more tailored breakfast pricing - charging a fixed fee per person is perfectly fine when you deal with adults but when it comes to a fussy child, who might have a bowl of cereal, a fixed adult rate did not feel right. We ended up having breakfast else for this reason.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were made to feel valued and welcome. Our host greeted us and showed us to our room personally. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff whilst we were there and the service we received at breakfast the next morning was absolutely on point. Location wise, this hotel is a very short walk from Sandown station, which is on the main Island Line from Ryde so couldn't be easier to get to. It is also in a very quiet road, so there is virtually no noise aside from the occasional passing car. Our room had a view looking out towards the idyllic countryside in that part of the Island, which was an added bonus. In terms of getting to the town and the seafront, this was a very short ten minute walk, so no downside to being further outside of the town at all. All in all, would definitely recommend a stay here - not ultra modern by any stretch, but definitely a character building and the prices are incredibly reasonable.

Being ultra picky, I would have to say the en-suite bathroom in the family room was a little on the small side, especially the shower cubicle. Whilst this wasn't much of a hinderance, it did make for a cramped shower experience in the morning.

Judy the landlady is truly amazing. A mine of information and a great sense of humour. And very friendly and kind. Beds comfy, breakfast v good, lovely old house (1870 - photo on wall near reception), parking ok, v near sandown train station. We went to ryde pier head, a nice little trip. Anything we needed we asked Judy - e.g. space in her fridge/freezer for meds and food/drink.

Family Room and Ensuite shower room a bit cramped but adequate. A plus was enough seating to sit and read, and nice big TV. But we weren't watching it much as we were out and about exploring this lovely island, following some of Judy's tips.

Hosts were excellent and always available if you had a question. Greeted us before we had unpacked the car and helped take bags to the rooms. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty and the rooms were nice and quiet. Family room by front door was perfect for my elderly father who cannot do stairs Everywhere was very clean and welcoming Excellent value for the price in August, would definitely stay there again

Bed too firm, for my personal preference and the WiFi didn't reach my room, but this wasn't a problem as was tired after days out so just wanted to sleep and only stayed for 2 nights Shower door only opened half way, as it hit the toilet seat, so as a larger lady this was a squeeze to get in and out of

A real home from home, you were made to feel really welcome and the service couldn't be faulted. We enjoyed our evening meal there too, beautifully cooked, well presented and great value for money. Dog friendly, although dogs are not allowed in the restaurant at breakfast time, they are welcomed in an evening. So we could enjoy our meal and relax for a drink or two, knowing our dog could be with us and he was treated to a biscuit or two!! We had a really relaxing stay at Chad Hill Hotel which is great after a busy day exploring the Island. Would definitely return and would highly recommend.

We loved the exterior of the property as it was gorgeous. Very quaint and loved the antique decor in the foyer. Lots of information on the island and things to do! There was parking available but it was somewhat limited. The host was amazing, really lovely and super friendly. Made us feel very at home which is important for us when we're staying somewhere new. Nothing felt like an inconvenience and she was very attentive.

The room was OK, a lovely fourposter bed but the frame was metal so definitely creaked when getting on and off. Same with the floor boards. It's a historic property though so these things aren't end of the world, we just wanted to make sure we weren't keeping other guests up. The ensuite was very small, had everything you needed though. My only issue really was the door, it was very narrow and didn't cover the entire doorway and there wasn't any complimentary shampoo/conditioner/toothpaste. Again, not a huge issue! Just something we noticed.

Spacious room, very friendly, lovely breakfasts with great variety, clean, tidy and safe off road parking

We really enjoyed our stay and struggled to fault the overall experience. Being picky, and to ultimately provide constructive feedback for further improvement, the shower experience could be better, water flow from the shower was fairly weak.
