The property had nice gardens. The bedrooms were nice . They had a snooker room, carpet was a bit taped down but it was safe enough so didn’t bother us. And the bar room was quite nice . Bar staff were lovely . My hubby left a tip and he isn’t usually that generous 😀

We thought we were getting a room with patio doors because of what was displayed on bookin. Com but I didn’t mind the room. My husband did tell them on the first day but they couldn’t change it as it was booked . So maybe advertising the room you are actually getting. But I don’t know if that’s the hotel or booking.com

It’s a beautiful mansion converted into a hotel. Building has lots of character and the best thing about the hotel is it’s staff which are really very good and friendly.

Loved the look of the property. Lovely garden to sit in. Not too far to walk into centre. Great value for money. Comfy bed. Tea/coffee making facilities were excellent. Hairdryer provided.

Check in was not really convenient. I understand that they stated a check in but I was asked on booking what time I would prefer. I stated a specific time but there was not budging when I asked if we could check in. We’d been up since 2.30am. Arrived in Sandown at 8.30 am (only ferry available). Went to hotel at 2.30pm and asked if our room was ready and was told flatly it’s 3pm check in. I felt they could have at least checked. 3pm came round and everyone rushed to reception at the same time.

Loved the Isle of Wight - Lots of things to do - very nice hotel with the feeling of old style wealth and hospitality. Spent a terrific day touring The Osbourne House. Very good restaurants, too. The people on the island are amazing. One woman helped us to arrange a cab and ended up giving us her number in case we needed any assistance with anything. When we got off a bus with a lot of luggage after the cab didn't take credit cards (loved the buses), a couple went to get their car and ended up driving us to our hotel so we wouldn't have to walk with luggage. All the people we met were beyond nice and friendly. Such a lovely place to be. Everyone who lives there told us it was like living in heaven, a dream realized. Wow - great place!

It's a little bit far from the bus station if you are not much of a walker. I could have happily spent more than 3 days on the Isle of Wight, especially because it rained during our time there. If the weather was brighter, we could have covered more ground as we wanted to go to Wildheart Sanctuary and Old Shanklin and Godshill and Newchurch or Butterfly World or Dinosaur Isle or Monkey Haven... and we didn't get to go ...

The hotel and staff were excellent. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The tea and coffee etc was well stocked. The shower was fabulous with plenty of room.

The restaurant hours! Closing at 7 pm is a ridiculous time, especially on a Saturday. This meant we had to walk into Sandown both evenings for our evening meal. We both have arthritis in our knees, so it was challenging as it's uphill and downhill both ways. We didn't want to drive as we have a van and would have had nowhere to park on our return. When we asked about having a bar snack, we were informed they were only available in the afternoons!

The bedroom although not big was adequate and had receently been updated with modern decor / furniture. Nice powerful hot shower. Nice seating area outside and pleasant grounds. We did not have any meals there

We were charged £1 per night parking - seriously if you are short of a quid add it on to the nightly rate don't look like penny pinchers wanting an extra pound. On top of that getting a space to park was a nightmare and each day I had to move my car even though first night on a end parking space so the tourist bus could turn round. The final day we could not get out of car park for two buses being there at same time. Could do with a shelf in bathroom for toilieteries and TV on small side (nit picking a bit ). I asked about a hot breakfast in reception but girl thought they did a hot one but not sure what and it was £13.95 anyway. We wenrt to Premier Inn pub on sea front for a all u can eat buffet for a tenner.

LOVED this place from the first moment I drove up the drive into the grounds. A true ‘hidden gem in plain sight’! The lovely, genuinely friendly staff were the icing on the cake! Merci, thanks, and danke esp. to Danka for such a clean and comfortable bedroom. That was just what I needed at that moment in time. Amazing value for money! Enjoyed reading about the history of the property too - very interesting place.

That I didn’t get a chance to spend more time in Graham’s amazing garden areas. That fella deserves a medal for keeping everything looking so good! Or, maybe consider getting him an extra pair of hands (perhaps an Apprentice or small team of volunteers?! It’s the perfect place to learn about botany, tree surgery, traditional and wildflower gardening. Not forgetting the ‘water’ areas etc.) Talking of water, it’s a shame the pool has been filled in, I could have done with a quick dip the morning after The I-o-W Festival! Also, gutted I didn’t get a chance to try the Afternoon Tea. Next time!

We found this hotel perfect for our needs. We like places with character, not sterile souless hotels. This hotel has an old-world grand, charm but maybe not everyone's taste. Our room was excellent and clean. We upgraded to a terrace room and sat outside watching the Red Squirrels. This suited my partner who smokes and our dog, and I'm glad we upgraded. We were made to feel welcome and so was our dog, the staff and other guests were all really friendly. This is a large, mainly old building, and the price was excellent for what we got, we paid the same for 3 nights here as we have paid for one night in a travelodge in Brighton. We stayed Coronation weekend so the hotel was relatively empty, no coach parties, therefore the restaurant was closed in the evening. This wasn't a problem for us as we went out to eat and had a takeaway delivered another night. We respect the fact that this hotel is big and to service and staff it is expensive in today's economic climate, and it wouldn't be feasible to have a restaurant open for so few people staying.

Location to the beaches town and bus routes are literally minutes yet the hotel setting is in it's own grounds which is peaceful and tranquil with gardens and surrounded with trees. No traffic noise Red squirrels bird life small mammals abounds. The staff are friendly helpful and accommodating The evening entertainment if you wish is good or plenty of other lounges to choose from if you want to just sit and relax As for value for money whether you choose room only or half board is excellent value 5star service for 2 star prices. Long may.they succeed in business Top Mark's from a seasoned traveller I will add the porter Jake went out of his way to help with our bags which after a long tiring journey was much appreciated also the rest of the staff we met were also as good if not Better than any luxury hotels.we have stayed in. Take Note T &C Hotels Staff like these are hard to come by

I had no dislikes ( I had a small problem) the problem was dealt with in an efficient and friendly manner .by Emma And Kia
