We were upgraded on arrival, as the restaurant was almost up and running following their recent re-opening. However, we didn't mind as we found some rather good eateries in the area. The view from our room was awesome. The room was sooo comfortable, clean, cosy, safe, and fresh. The staff were so kind and accommodating, and there is even a little lift to go up in - handy for us! Totally recommend this hotel, 100%. We will definitely stay there again if we're down that way. This is definitely a Prince Hotel (to find the Handsome Prince, sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs...). Nothing wrong with the room, the bathroom, or the facilities.

Nothing. I am really pleased to say this was one of the exceptions - many hotels aren't even worth wasting time on, as people will try them anyway. But the Alexandra Hotel certainly deserves an awesome rating from my wife and me. Thak you to the staff there for doing a fantastic job of making our stay exceptional.

The hotel is in an excellent location on the waterfront but away from the pier. Lovely sea views from our bedroom window and comfortable beds. Everything was clean and the hotel has been recently refurbished.

The tea making facitilities in the room were functional but with only one teabag per person, a bit minimal. More teabags please! A full English breakfast was offered, which was great, but the alternative continental option could be higher quality. Worth investing in real croissant from a local bakery, for instance.

The staff couldn’t be more helpful. The room was big (and had an unexpected sea view) and the single beds were large and comfortable. The shower was large, perfect temperature and accessible for my elderly Mum. The breakfast had plenty with a good selection.

In a twin room, one bed didn’t have a plug socket nearby so you couldn’t leave your phone on charge and have it in reach. luckily I had a long charger cable that just stretched from the other bed.

The room was newly refurbished and was lovely, fresh and well decorated with a lovely bay window overlooking the sea with a table and chair to enjoy the view. Monika in reception was so welcoming and helpful

Staff are super nice, helpful and response quickly to issues. Location is perfect - just 10 minutes walk from the station and 2 minutes from the beach. I really like the sea view!

The shower was not functioning properly - the water was so hot, but staff were really helpful and rearranged me to another room.

Receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. She could not do enough to help us and even upgraded us to sea-view room for no extra charge. Location was fantastic, on the seafront. Hotel has some great restaurants close-by.

No restaurant facilities at the hotel. This was not a problem for us but would have been nice to know before booking. Single rooms were small and felt cramped, largely due to poorly designed rooms. Shower small and cramped, would be very difficult if you are tall/large. Water pressure poor. Radiator didn't work in one room. We were given a heater instead but this type of think should be checked at the start of the season.

Hotel fully refurbished, rooms fresh, modern and spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds, USB charging points, tea and coffee facilities. Nice quality shower gel and shampoo provided. All staff very friendly, proactive and helpful. Large, pleasant breakfast room serving both continental buffet and table service hot breakfast. Super location on seafront close to theatres and restaurants. Hotel can provide parking vouchers for a small charge allowing parking in nearby designated zones. Look forward to staying again.
