Room was a bit dated - would upgrade if we stayed again.

Despite the cancellation mentioned below, we felt looked after by the staff at West Rocks who transferred our booking to a larger hotel with good reviews and similar terms for the same price that suited us very well. So despite the cancellation, we received excellent customer service.

West Rocks Townhouse messaged to cancel our booking about a month in advance because of "unforeseen circumstances". Without further explanation, I assume they may have wanted to clear our booking for 1 night to make way for someone who wanted to stay for longer during the half-term week.

The reception staff were very helpful. We had a slight problem with our door key which was quickly resolved. The Little chocolate gift left for us in our room was a really nice touch. The "Breakfast Gift Bag" was also quite nice. And the "Resturant Passport" giving us 10% discount although we didn't use it, It was nice to know there are resturants willing to give us the discount. Finally the room. The size was more than adequate with the on suite bathroom and show with sliding doors. It was good to see the room haf been given a new lick of pain and wall paper was quite funky.

The room windows should really be cleaned more frequently but it is understandable when you have a seafront view from your windows and there is alot of seagul activity. On a small note that there might like to consider having a small soap holder in the shower.

I felt the reception staff was great. Unfortunately I don't remember their names, but the two of them were very friendly and welcoming. They gave me advice for places to eat along with a little tourist booklet for discounts at nearby restaurants. This was most welcome after a long day of travel and walking the Seaford to Eastborne trail. Unexpectedly, I was given a snack bag when I checked out of the hotel. It was perfect for the train ride to London Gatwick Airport (~1 hour away). Would stay here again.

Room was excellent overlooking the sea, nice large room with sofa, TV and WiFi in room. Complimentary breakfast bags daily was a nice addition to our stay aswell as complimentary chocolate bars and chocolate gift in room on arrival and staff were pleasant. Teddy bear is a nice addition to the hotel being moved around everyday. Topped up teas, sugar etc when needed and rubbish cleared daily and fresh towels given every couple days, also shower pressure was great. The snack vending machines is handy to have, funky cool furniture near the bar and artwork in different areas. Location is excellent, everything we needed in walking distance locally. Lifeboat museum bus stop being nearby a couple minutes away for the eastbourne sightseeing bus is handy.

Staff were accommodating to putting anything right.

From the initial communications with Ellie before our stay, the welcome we had from Mark and Alec when we arrived in the evening, to us checking out, everyone at the hotel was exceptionally welcoming to us and our little Chihuhua's. Mark checked us in late in the evening as we were late arriving, and gave us a lot of information and guidance on the local area, nothing was too much trouble. With the dogs I was a regular visitor past reception during the night, and enjoyed a chat with Alec when passing. Alec is a real Gentlemen, always opening the doors for me, and offering to help me with the lift door. When we got to our room it was lovely and clean, we had been given a box of Roses left on the bed which was a lovely thought. The bed was quite soft but we found them very comfortable. Each morning Alec or Mark gave us our breakfast bags which was a nice touch as we didn't expect anything. Complimentary drinks and chocolate bars were also available in reception. Our dogs loved the hotel and the treats left in the room for them. The first of any hotel treats they have actually liked! Also there was a little green area opposite the entrance which is great for the dogs at night. This hotel is placed in a wonderful position, hearing the waves lap up on the beach at night was very theraputic! Unfortunately there was no restaurant or bar at the hotel but they were happy for us to have takeaway food in the room, which was great as with the dogs it makes dining out in the area a little challenging in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit, the staff are fantastic, very friendly, and welcoming. The location is perfect, and the dogs were welcomed. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel. Thank you Ellie, Mark and Alec, and the rest of the team we didn't get to meet.

Lack of restaurant/bar but takeaways were allowed.

Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. We were upgraded from side view to sea view. The breakfast bag was a nice added extra, suited us as with kettle in the room that was all we needed. Only suggestion id to give out in the evening before, to not have ti get dressed to collect in the morning! Easy parking, good value tickers £2 a day via hotel.

Some of the decor a little tired in main areas, but not a major concern. Shower took a little time to warm up but okay.

We were welcomed instantly by the two receptionists.They answered our questions on parking etc and were most helpful on recommending restaurants for dinner.They told us that we could help ourselves to complimentary chocolate biscuits and orange juice in the reception area.We had a lovely surprise when we were told that we had been upgraded to a seaview room which was a delight and very spacious.An additional surprise was that there was a box of Rose's chocolates in the room waiting for us.Thank you for your GREAT customer service and we look forward to our next visit one day.

Very lovely stay, me and my boyfriend only stayed for one night but the way the staff/reception acted was absolutely phenomenal. They offer all day parking permit for £2 which ends at 11am next day (we only stayed one night) they offered a map/passport of places we can see and eat at near the hotel. We got a sea front view, the rooms were big and spacious (with a packet of Malteasers on the bed) and as we checked out, was offered a snack bag with lovely food inside. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

Loved the location and view of the seafront, beds were very comfortable staff were lovely and very helpful with everything and for information about where everything is in surrounding area. The bar was a lovely area too we were all very happy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at West Rocks hotel and will certainly return for another adventure thanks West rocks 🥰 .

The bathroom was lovely but could of done with shelf to put things on.
