There are so many hotels to choose from in Eastbourne and the Cavendish Hotel ticked all of our boxes so that is why we booked, and then during our stay it was much better than we expected.

lt was very warm in the hotel. The heating could be turned down inside the hotel.

Having the use of a balcony was a big bonus as there was a concert on the band stand opposite the hotel that night which was amazing… we had brilliant seats! Great location for walking the promenade, also car parking was good & cheap for 24 hours!

There appeared to be an air condition machine high up on the wall but no way of putting it on or off. A fan was provided but it was noisy so had to turn it off at bed time. Couldn’t open a window. Didn’t want to leave the door to the balcony open for security reasons, also the wild life may have come visiting!! The temperature in the room was intense & I couldn’t sleep. Also the fridge hadn’t been defrosted for ages as everything we put in there was frozen in the morning …In hindsight should have left fridge door open to cool down the room!!

Given a room with a walk in shower with no extra cost after leaving a message following my booking that I have a mobility problem and can't get into a bath. The room was spotless, provided with tea,/ coffee making facilities Also as the temperature was so high that weekend, there were two oscillating fans provided. Breakfast was good choices. Enjoyed it very much

Although the bathroom was ideally equipped for the disabled guest, one very big problem was the toilet seat....it was much too low, this causing me excessive pain when trying to get off it,! A room for the disabled needs a higher toilet seat

Right by the sea, nice and clean property. The hotel also offers a dinner and breakfast package which was ideal for us.

Our huge window, which made the room very spacious and airy, did not have a net curtain. So a wander around in my birthday suit had to be carefully considered. I was on holiday and also at a stage in my life when i could not care less who was watching, but others, my partner included, may be a little more concerned about the lack of privacy during the day. The food from the restaurant was nice, but they do finish serving around 7:45 so you have to be in there quick. That said, you can load up your plate till you burst so maybe it’s a good thing. I’d have been there all night otherwise!

The perfect welcome on our arrival at the hotel By the receptionist Mr. Adam, I want to highlight the attention received by Adam and his education and above all his kindness, his intention from minute one was to make us feel at home and he succeeded. Her smile made us happy in our brief stay I would definitely stay at this place again Thank you

We did not like the excessive noise in the morning at our room door by the cleaning girl. she sang too loud. But this did not make us change our opinion regarding the hotel. We also understand that this job needs extra motivation every day. The breakfast beacon in the morning was somewhat damaged and little quantity for all the guests who were there. In my opinion, it should be refilled more frequently and remove the one that is not in the best way. Little variety of bread.

I forgot my phone charger when I checked out of the hotel this morning, came back after work to collect it but the receptionist refused to give it to me. She claimed that the room service had kept it in their save and that I should come back tomorrow. She cared less when I informed her that I had finished work and was travelling back home to come back in two days and that I needed my charger desperately. She refused to call the manager when I demanded her to do so. She also lied to me that she would email me my receipt, which I demanded her to do. Very, very unimpressed I was.

Her customer service was very poor. I am a regular guest at this hotel and don't usually get this kind of treatment I got today. Let me say that other receptionists have been very nice save this lady today at about 2000 hours

The hotel building was really nice, it's plain to see that efforts are being made to redecorate and the library and lounge were excellent. Even though we had the basement room, it was very good value for money, new carpets and had that cared for appearance.

Mould on the tiling in the bathroom and a dodgy table in the room. It could have fallen over and with the kettle on it amongst other things might have caused harm. We asked reception for extra pillows but they didn't seem to be bothered about it and eventually one pillow instead of two turned up about 4 hours later. It's the little touches that need to be addressed, as on the whole it is a lovely hotel.

Breakfast and friendly staff late opening time Try to accommodate you big rooms and all showers is excellent

Room cleaned but still dirty someone else hair on towel’s and In bathroom areas layer of dust under the bed On toilet tiles was stained with what I thought was someone else blood or dirt I’m not 100% sure? some room smell of some kind of aftershave or damp I’m really sad to say but a few small improvements will be good for the business. Watch chef Ramsey! No one likes, but if embraced makes life a whole lot better don’t be offended if I didn’t have my glasses 🤓 i probably wouldn’t have noticed. OCD getting the better of me just needs that 10% extra attention to be 5* don’t give up I have faith in you all

Location was absolutely brilliant. Brilliant hotel. Lift... kettle and tea supplies. Big room. Lovely big bath. Staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful and informative. Beautiful interior and car park at rear of hotel. My room was spacious and the bath... the bath made the room for me completely! 5 min walk to centre. Stones throw from beach . Great value for money too. What more could you want for a few days exploring eastbourne:)

Room did get very hot. But that cant be helped. I was out most the day anyway. Its An old building but you know what are booking . No complaints otherwise:)

- Lovely hotel and top location. - Overlooked the bandstand so was able to enjoy listening to the musical shows which ended at a sensible time. - Room was much better than anticipated (based on previous reviews). Spacious, clean bathroom and a fabulous beachfront view. - Friendly staff and amenable with the use of the luggage room for our bikes.

- Room and hotel overall is beginning to look a bit tired and dated so could do with a bit of investment in some refreshed decor. - Would have preferred a double-bed mattress as opposed to twins pushed together. - Staff could have provided clearer information regarding breakfast and dinner costs (we weren't told about the discount if booked night before) - Team were also understaffed on the bank-holiday weekend such that the ground floor toilets were left in a bad state for several hours before being cleaned (but then, I don't understand how customers can be so scummy themselves to leave it that way - I mean, how can so many people be so uncivilized not to leave a WC in the way they would want to find it?)
