Bright, clean and airy room. Very friendly and accommodating lady on reception. We wanted to book a third night, which didn’t seem to be available online. However, we were able to stay in the same room, at a very reasonable price for a Friday. Parking was inexpensive as the hotel sell £2 vouchers, which are valid for 27 hours. The Riviera is located a few minutes walk from the town centre, and there are cafes and a supermarket nearby. And….they are happy to accept CASH!

Lovely bright room, but slightly inconvenient in that the TV was on the wall to one side of the bed, instead of being on the wall opposite. This may only relate to certain rooms, as we have stayed many times at this hotel and not had the problem before. The room was at the back of the hotel, on the first floor. With the windows open at night, there was a lot of traffic noise, and also noise from people shouting on the street in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Although choice was somewhat limited no buffet my chosen omelet was excellent having had a choice of cearials fruit juice and coffee or tea to start served at the table. Everything was spotless and the modern seating in the beautifully bright spacious setting was excellent. Found all the staff very friendly and helpful particularly at the breakfast.

Being a small side room and with very effective secondary dble glazing their was no traffic noise but I was disturbed in the middle of the night by noise transference from an adjoining room. The walls need to have omore insulation.

The sea view location was superb. The hotel was very well run by friendly efficient staff. There was a very pleasant welcoming atmosphere. The room was decorated very nicely in a soothing relaxing manner. The beds were very comfortable. We were grateful for the lovely round table and comfy armchairs. The room was spacious with plenty of drawer and cupboard space. Excellent coffee in the lounge. Very good toilets downstairs. Our on-site shower was excellent. The hotel lounge was pleasant.

Flat access and charging for mobility scooter. Most of the staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was tasty.

Lift was unavailable when housekeeping were using it to move bedding. No apologies. Told we’d just have to use the stairs. My partner is disabled so not great. Room was very hot and stuffy. Open windows did not really provide ventilation. The fan provided didn’t help much.

Rooms were basic yet just what you want a hotel room to be comfortable and clean. I was in a group of 7 guests all staying in single room's, in all the rooms there was a well stocked tea and coffee station along with a well sited hairdryer and a safe, everyone of us had a good night sleep so from that I'd say the beds were all comfortable. The reception - dining and bar area are all on the ground floor and very clean, modern and welcoming. Finally the staffing team were all very polite and helpful, I would definitely stay here again.

If I really wanted to nit pick I'd say the bed needed two pillows - the towels had seen better days and the lighting in the room was very dim, to be clear fair on the first two points the towels were clean and soft just a bit old looking and not in keeping with the bathroom more modern look, I did not request another pillow so 1pillow obviously was adequate but the lighting really could do with a look at especially in the bathroom a bright light is essential when doing your make-up

Everything, plus the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were there last year, and because we had a great stay, we decided to come back this year. The children loved it and were excited to come back and see the beautiful fish that are in the lobby. They loved it. Great location.

Great location very near the seafront and pier and 10 to 15 minute walk to town, shops, theatres, tennis courts, main street for buses and the railway station but it is also in a quiet area. The room was large and airy with windows you could fully open which was great in the heatwave. Everything was clean and comfortable and the fridge was a bonus. We did have a sea view and although nice it was partly obscured by the balustrades on the top of the entrance porch (would be better described as a partial sea view). It was great to be able to lay in bed and hear the waves lapping on the shore. Breakfast was good with high quality full English. There were plenty of eating places nearby. All the staff were very helpful, including storing our luggage after we checked out. The small courtyard near the entrance looked nice with large pots of very well cared for roses and a seating area.

Nothing to dislike at all. Everything was fine but it didn't have any kind of 'wow factor'.

Beautiful location on the waterfront. Clean and well maintained. Quiet and friendly staff. The dining room was beautiful- really nice morning light. Close to the center of town. Easy to walk to from the train station. I felt comfortable there, traveling on my own.

A bit noisy in the evenings- but to be expected as it was right on the waterfront walk.

This is a lovely comfortable hotel with friendly staff and well furnished rooms. The location is close to the town centre and obviously directly on the sea front. Its also only a 10 minute walk or 8 minute bus ride to the Eastbourne tennis tournament which I visited during my stay.

My only minor gripe would be that they're aren't any vegan options and very few vegetarian options on the breakfast menu. This could be because the there is little demand from the clientelle, however there are plenty of cafes close by.

We were given an upgrade which we were happy to accept. The staff were really nice people. Breakfast was very good. Location was perfect and we also got lucky with the parking! As our reason for being there was because of a funeral, a good hotel helped enormously. Thanks to all at the Riviera. It should be noted that the price advertised was the price charged. As I searched for a suitable hotel online, I came across many that advertised one price and then showed a higher price when you went to book. This hotel is honest - a quality sadly lacking in the modern business world.

It is very hard to criticise and was very good value. The only reason I couldn't rate it as exceptional is that we have stayed at truly exceptional hotels but it seems churlish to criticise what was a very good experience.
